>Syncing folders to the cloud as a backup
Literally nothing wrong with this. Just encrypt the data before uploading.
>Hunt and Peck typing
Yeah, not everyone had the privileged to start typing at an early age.
>Installing meme anti virus
Installing another proprietary closed source application and running it as admin all the time is indeed top cringe.
>Disabling UAC
Windows security model if fucked either way. People are already used to run downloaded installers as administrator. UAC is completely useless. I don't disable it but it actually adds nothing to security.

>autistic nitpicking teenagers who don't know shit and have a false sense of superiority
Gets me every time, I even have to reply to their terrible threads

Disabling UAC is a classic one, it's just not worse than running Windows always as administrator which is what 90% of the people do. After I found out how retarded it was I just use a normal user account and UAC at the maximum

>>Syncing folders to the cloud as a backup
What is wrong with this?
It is easier and lets you transfer files faster because it is automatic and the internet is as fast as LAN used to be.
If I take a picture with my phone, it gets uploaded to a directory in my nextcloud server and that gets downloaded to my laptop.
I couldn't even insert the cable in that time.
>UAC
Seems like a windows problem.
Seeing people use windows makes me cringe too.

>installing programs to the desktop
>allowing a billion redundant programs to build up icons in the context menu

With the cloud backup if you get hit with a virus that damages the files it will sync that change I'm not talking about privacy

Hunt and Peck typing just annoys me when I'm trying to help someone and they take a minute to get to a website

Should have added only using the cloud with nothing else so if the files get damaged and sync you loose them. Cloud sync is fine for storage but isn't really a backup.

>With the cloud backup if you get hit with a virus that damages the files it will sync that change I'm not talking about privacy
Well, you're right about cloud storage not being backup. It's more for high availability.

nextcloud, dropbox and google drive all have the concept of versions so you can roll back.
I also have several computers that aren't always online which means the data wouldn't be gone if the files on the server gets corrupted and I loose my copies on one device.

Regardless of the versioning on those services not all services have it and you should still have a couple of real backups.
Also having several copies on offline computers would be considered a backup

>opens facebook by tying facebook.com IN GOOGLE SEARCH
>actually and seriously DEFENDS THIS when you bring it up
>cannot use google search for "normal searches" thou

I use cloud though, and refresh my desktop 5 times before I use it.

>Yeah, not everyone had the privileged to start typing at an early age.
I learned to touch type when I was 19.

...

>Yeah, not everyone had the privileged to start typing at an early age.
Learning tt takes what, a week? Two maybe?

>Installing another proprietary closed source application and running it as admin all the time is indeed top cringe.
Who said anything about installing anything and running it as Admin?
>Windows security model if fucked either way. People are already used to run downloaded installers as administrator.
According to Whom'st'd've?
>UAC is completely useless. I don't disable it but it actually adds nothing to security.
No it isn't and why do you contradict yourself?

> UAC is completely useless
