Not coats. I have some long sleeved shirts, but I don't use them often, like 5 times a year at most, and only at night.
I can't imagine that Mexico is hotter than here.
I mean, we at least do have a rainy season and it does get to at least 10 or 6 degrees.

I mean, it's not THAT hot (30-35°C), but not having a single cold season kind of sucks. I live in the south of Mexico, so I have no experience with the north, so I'm just talking about my experience on my zone. I constantly hear on the news that a big part of the north of Mexico gets pretty cold, like below 0°C temperatures on winter, so there's that.

the coldest I've experienced here was -47°C, the usual "cold" weather during the winter is about -30-35°C and -23-25°C is a normal winter

I was doing manual labour during that time so you'd go in and out of warm place to the cold spending about 15 minutes in each, so you keep your insides fairly warm.
I'd actually get hot even outside from physical activity, so it was actually not too bad, actually waiting 10 minutes for the bus the next morning was worse.

確かに、日本人は地域への思いが強いように思う、アメリカで生まれも育ちも葛飾柴又みたいなのは聞かないし、むしろ先祖が移民だし、今も移民者が多いからむしろ国でのプライドが強いのかな?
でも、ハイウェイでどこにでも無料でいけるって言うのはすごく気分が良いよ。
あ、あと、アメリカでは自分がいる所のハイウェイナンバーを誇りにしてる人は多いね、そういう意味では日本の地域愛に似てるかも。
