The last exciting tech launch was probably ryzen. I hope we get something interesting soon.
>turing
inb4 more AI trash cards
I personally think nvidia should wait a year or two just so amd can catch up to pascal.
>Turing
So they are homosexual?
Try to think like an industry:
should I push a brand new technology to give my opponents an harder challenge,
or should I wait for my opponent to achieve the same specs and split in half our earnings?
What audience are they targeting with this?
nice ad, fucker
Well there's your problem, AMD isn't an opponent to Nvidia.
the poor and uneducated
...
That's not how it works at all. You pace your releases to be slightly better than your competition at all times. If you release the bleeding edge developments from your R&D as soon as its practical, #1 you're probably going to have huge manufacturing costs and supply issues because you're not letting the mass manufacturing industry catch up and #2 you risk going into a multi-year slump with nothing up your sleeve if R&D runs into roadblocks.
so this isnt meant to surpass the titan V?
...
Nvidia need years to build new arch, need months to start mass production and EOL last gen, simple hey do nothing isn't way company could works,by the time vega get real reviews nvidia had contracts to new gen GPU.
Vega flopped so hard they delayed ampere from it's original q3-q4 launch.
>implying any of these companies would actually spend cash on advertising to a bunch of pedo autistic neets
>t. paid logitech 'urban guerilla advertiser'
If you're saying that AMD isn't an opponent because their products are smoking shit, I can totally agree.
the real question is will it be the 20x0 or the 11x0 series no one gives a shit about code names
this
>2018
>still cant emulate ps2
they are literally going to be completely sold out for the ENTIRETY of their lifespan because of mining
kek
Gamers nexus said it won't be called ampere and I believe him
he's a faggot with bad skin
He's right nonetheless. Also you are a homo for caring about the skin of other men.
2000 series makes more sense
So it will be a miner based line then?
no?
Alan Turing was a cryptanalyst user, why would they make a line on his name if wasn't because mining.
So they will release in march then and not April? Sweet
Because nvidia is GAY LOL
Who knows, it will be likely announced at March-April but released later.
As usual XX80 and XX70 will come out first.
What if Ampere is the gaming line and Turing is the mining line?
In 2013 nvidia show next 5 years on computer architecture, maybe in GTC 2018 will show roadmap next architecture , Ampere,Turing..
t. Dell/Apple marketer that wants us to buy your $3,000 memebooks instead of a $200 second hand thinkpad
Aka an AI Compute only "GPU" : A headless meme-core processor aka (ALU asic) for meme-learning (machine learning). Happy to see them fragment the hell out of their product line with artificial segmentation. As indicated some time ago, this is what was coming and now it will come to pass. Funny seeing California's arrogant titans jack the names of these famed scientist for silly ass products. Now every time someone google's them, they'll be pointed to a product. Great nigger tier marketing.
> Turing..
> Mining line
I hope they are this fucking retarded to try to further substantiate the cancer known as crypto currencies :
barrons.com
Sounds like a perfect idea.
Release a Line with efficiency and not power in mind that can deliver the same hashrate.
Less Power draw, less PCIe power connectors, smaller heatsinks, better VRAM cooling.
They've already artificially segmented their product lines like crazy. This will end up being the death of them if they continue it further especially based on a ponzi scheme cancerous technology. I look forward to march.
Vega is a joke. Veg 64 is beaten by a gtx 1060. LMFAO!! Stay mad AMDrone
Single slot mining GPU line!
I'll start caring when the TI version releases
October probably.
More like:
>should we retain our current generation so the competition can catch up, and once they've released benchmarks and had consumers commit
>we'll release the next generation, 25%-30% increased performance over the competition
>so their customers lose faith in their next iteration
>so we secure a larger market share every generation
why do you want to fuck over my naming scheme?
>just got a 1080 for not even 500 before the mining meme got to it
>new cards coming out already
Fuck
>refuse to pay jewsync tax
>want freesync
>Vega is sold out permanently
>no new AMD GPU to succeed Vega 64 until 2019
fuck my life
will it have gay pride rgb
sell that 1080 right now faggot, you'll get $800 for that
with any luck you can get a new series GPU before miners or, if we're really lucky, is shit for mining
Keep the GTX 1080, gift it to a friend if you get the new gen.
Or better, wait till the new gen is out stock and sell it for more than you bought it for.
Bad advice especially with pricing/performance being unknown and no dam good reason for needing more performance than a 1080. I'm interested in what new features they can offer for less. Otherwise, I'm not upgrading shit. I care less about the performance improvement and more about them finally unlocking feature's they're still gimping on GTX cards. It's time they stop milking the market and start delivering on all the money they're making.
>Keep it is bad advice
What.
Sell it and roll the dice.
Lets see if :
A.) Nvidia doesn't hike the price substantially like niggers
B.) Get one in stock
C.) Get one that isn't ass blasted over MSRP
D.) Get any benefit out of it.. you have a 1080 already
E.) Nvidia doesn't split up the architecture even further and nigger the whole offering
If you have an 8 core, you could buy a 16 core. Doesn't mean it will make any material difference. Do as you please. You have a lot of variables stacked against you. Play the lotto.. sometimes you lose. He paid less than $500 for a 1080. Used 1080s are not going for $800 dipshit. They're going for around $650 and they can be found by any whose patient new @ $549/$569
>no dam good reason for needing more performance than a 1080
1440p at higher than 60 fps is a good reason IMO. 1080ti is honestly minimum for that at this point in time
> I care less about the performance improvement and more about them finally unlocking feature's they're still gimping on GTX cards
like what?
and selling it IS a good idea. He can sell it for $800 (make his money back and then some) and get a card as or more powerful for far, far less than $800 in a couple months. Playing old vidya on integrated graphics for literally 2 months never killed anyone.
Its killing me.
KEK.. You get it. Nigger tier marketing.
The Tesla cards actually mine quite well with no display. You can pick up some older ones and in a free electricity binge they are good.
You can install XEN and game with these and use a workstation or cell phone to play games also.
> 1440p at higher than 60 fps is a good reason IMO. 1080ti is honestly minimum for that at this point in time
Yawn... muh 4k gaming at 180fps
> like what?
Like the capture card built into every recent GTX card kept locked behind Nvidia's shit tier telemetry suite.
> He can sell it for $800
Used 1080s sell for $650 on average to retards on ebay.
New ones can be bought at bestbuy for $569 regularly.
> Playing old vidya on integrated graphics for literally 2 months never killed anyone.
Sells his 1080 for $650. Ebay takes $65. Paypal takes $15.
Makes $70. Has $570. New card sells for $700. Retailers ass blast it to $800.
Can't find it in stock. Comes on Sup Forums bitching about miners. Pays $1k... after suffering on integrated graphics for 2 months... Sounds about right
