Windows 10 Access Denied

I recently have this problem for 2 days now! I don't know what to do! My external drive won't let me open any folders or copy any folders! Help! How to fix?

Install Gentoo.

What? Do you have any idea to fix this?

This but unironically, Linux ignores NTFS permissions.

What it will do?

use the security tab in the folder options.

Give you access to your hard drive.

Blast it with piss

I already did, man. And still it won't! Also, I think someone set my external drive to become a "Local Disk" I'm not kidding. It's now "Local Disk (Z:)

Take Ownership

There's tons of quick reg edits that add it to the context menu too

Have you tried doing what it says?

...

format your drives and install some higher security

Can you provide a link please? Thank you.

This but a thousand times. It literally says how to fix it

Use a large magnet and swipe in across the drive multiple times.

I already did.

Use this then use the security tab tenforums.com/tutorials/3841-add-take-ownership-context-menu-windows-10-a.html

Wtf!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OP, I think you should take this opportunity to leave computing and explore other hobbies

When it bugs you need to use a power hell command to take ownership. I can't remember it off the top of my head but it will work 99% of the time

The funniest thing is that absolutely nothing will happen.

Thank you!

Hey! It actually worked! Thank you so much!

Go to your drive then properties > advanced settings then "owner' tab and replace the current owner with the user "Everyone" That should allow you full access to the drive

If it fails telling you that you need permission from yourself to do changes your windows is fucked up

How to fix that? install Linux mint (the easiest and most windows like) on a USB and boot from it Linux bypasses NTFS permissions so you will be able to access all your data and will be able to copy it to another drive after you have made a backup just reinstall windows

And If you don't know how to do stuff just use youtube

HAHA. It's already fixed, bro. But, thank you. :)

Installing gentoo would a tually work, but an easier solution is making a linux mint or ubuntu live usb.
