>if I study 10 hours per day
If you actually do, you'll be good in six months, but when most people say "I studied for ten hours" in reality, they barely studied for 3/4 of an hour and the remaining time, fucked around.

Source of this is one of those no panties/ naked pizza delivery videos, if anyone's wondering. Searching "no panties pizza delivery" on bing makes it the 2nd result.

Well, I was thinking of investing in around 7k hours.

I can confirm this. I've been "studying" as a NEET for 2 years but just can't fucking focus.

But then I do have ADHD and have probably done like 8 weeks of work in 2 years. I've given up and gone back on my meds.

You are supposed to study 60h/week if you go to a university.
I studied for 10 hours / day for 5 years to be an engineer.
Web devs are the most retarded form of people who still have a job, so that should be possible.
Don't think you will make it as a software engineer.

Going by the ten thousand hour rule, you would have just over 5k hours in two years (assuming you break on the weekend). So, yes, you would be good.

...

I was also thinking of investing some money into good mentor/teacher, so he can help and guide me to reach good tier level as quick as possible.

>mentor

how do I get hours spent working rather than studying?

Nobody will give a shit when you put down how many 1000 hours you spent 'studying'.
But if you say you have 1000 hours working experience in whatever then its legit

I have ADHD too and it's fucking hell, dropped out of college twice, one third try still slacking. I am on ritalin and it doesn't help. I can study for like 2 hours and my brain just refuses to take more information. I don't think I'm stupid I just don't understand why I can't concentrate. I'd rather listen to music for 10 hours and browse Sup Forums instead.

Oh when I'm on meds I'm amazing, I can do all of my work and things in 2 hours.

I'm extremely efficient, I can program anything, do anything, but as soon as they wear off I'm trash.

So I just take more!

Thanks dextroamphetamine.

That's good point, I'm going too look for internship as soon as possible.

...

So how many meds aka productive hours are you allowed per day? What are the side effects?

Get a job as a software developer and you will learn a shit Tom more than if you just study

Side effects are awful. The doctor says to only take 4 a day, but I only take them once every few days and do everything so as many as needed.

Side effects turn me into a robot and make me want to die when they wear off.

Not that guy.
I had doctors fuck around with antidepreants for 3 years until I got to try ADHD medicine. And I have a diagnosis.
First med that did anything. It's left me very very resentful.

But it doesn't help as much as I hoped. As for learning I find listening and visual media easier to absorb. But these resources generally suck, they're either really slow or not deep. So it's a balance between managing books and lesser sources.

I've noticed that reducing line width helps a lot. I usually read online in ~500px. Just thought I'd share.

Honestly I want to quit, I think programming just isn't for me.
I mean I can DO it, and do it REALLY well, but I'm a zombie 2 days a week (and only do work 2 days a week) my whole life and that's not something you can do in a job.

At this point I'm exploring other career options, I want to get into management but I know I can't hold down a dev job to get there. I'm thinking of being a consultant or something but I have no idea how to get into that.

you study by doing

No offense, but you sound like a bitch. Please drink a beer or two, slap yourself and get it done. At least you can do it, I'm going to be the happiest person when I'll be able to do it.

>bing

Bing is still one of the better search engines for porn, though it's far from it's heyday

Why not just go to a university?
There you also have classmates that will mentor you for free.
