We talking late 80s, early 90s flaming lips or post-Soft Bulletin shitfest flaming lips?

This dude's rad. I'd chill with this guy.

I rarely disagree with a post this drastically in every way.
We talking afropunk Death or shitty Death?

>Bruce
>Taylor Swift
Jesus fuck.
I dig Swans and Eno though.

I never met somebody who liked Grateful Dead and had otherwise decent taste in music.
I'm not even specifically insulting GD, I don't mind them or care about them at all, it's just everyone I know who likes them likes that and, like, Phish and that's pretty much it.

You seem like a chill person.

Basia
Stevie Wonder

Jamiroquai
David Wise
Antonio Carlos Jobim
Teena Marie
Tower of Power
Oscar Peterson
George Gershwin

at least you like the shadow ring

>Jamiroquai
Wait, there are real people that like Jamiroquai?

both i prefer earlier though

there is literally nothing with Bruce Springsteen

>Grateful Dead
There's something really refreshing, open and affirming about their music and lyrics. Kind of like Talk Talk but channeled through dumb hippy adages instead of religious whatever. I also really like artists with a big body of work that's self referential and has a unique style that's super well explored- and grateful dead are that. pretty damn capable band too as far as I can tell. Phish on the other hand doesn't write good songs, has dumb lyrics and basically is just a grateful dead/weed cash in as far as I can tell, although they're actually ok and that was harsh

Did you mean "nothing wrong" or were you saying he wasn't on that list because both of those statements are false.

could be my friend tier

Mastodon
Chelsea Wolfe
Nine Inch Nails
Russian Circles
Bohren & Der Club of Gore
Alice in Chains
Björk
Health
Spangle Call Lili Line
Death Grips

alice in memes, nirvana, slayer, led zep and then a bunch of teary acoustic stuff bleurgh

implying there's some blatant parallel between jazz and classical that doesnt exist with other genres? and if you like one you must like the other?

Regular, whatever that is
more histrionic
more anal and neurotic
more idealistic and less chill
damn, this is a pretty fucking disparate list of artists now that I look at it closely. no idea, but you seem to have developed a taste
chill and smart
Regular, whatever that is
you think you're funny, I guess, and I guess hate yourself probably
older than most of Sup Forums, considerably. or feigning mature taste with an astute understanding of how tastes develop that renders doing so pointless
pretty popular choices, but I'm getting more dramatic romantic vibes from you than Sup Forumscore vibes
you like spending time outdoors, especially at night

Michael Jackson
Prince
Marvin Gaye
Funkadelic/Parliament
A Tribe Called Quest
Digable Planets
OutKast
De La Soul
Kraftwerk
Bjork

Something like that

Jazz is for musicians and cool dudes with sunglasses.
Classical is for nerds and old people.

Get with it, dorkus.

Dude.
Dude you seem fucking rad.

shouldn't you be taking care of your wife's son?

Jazz is for cool, hip kids

Classical is for cranky old men who run music stores and give me dirty looks as if they're disgusted with my choices

Shouldn't you be fucking my mom?

wait no wait i take that back i didnt mean that

>alice in memes
haha. nice one user!

there are a lot of differences, but I think what holds people back from classical and jazz are generally similar things- it usually being instrumental, lacking conventional pop song structure and chord changes, and having complicated enough composition or improv to continue to reveal different things on different listens

No particular order

You're an elitist prick when it comes to musicianship.
