I'm curios, from a your standpoint - could you describe - in purely emotional terms - what you feel when somebody mentions Rust?
Is it annoyance? Pretentiousness? Do you visualize people with shaved heads, lanky bodies and high pitched voices? Or are you just tired of the fucking shilling?

honest question
my company outsources to a ton of indians, some of them seem pretty sharp, but tons of them seem to have no technical knowledge at all despite being employed with a degree
It's no secret that a lot of indian colleges will hand out degrees to anyone
How do you feel about that, living amongst it? do you feel like you're being lumped in with thousands of lesser programmers?

Well, didn't think anyone would take that post seriously, but I am actually indian and never liked java, c# or js. But JAVA, C# (ASP.NET for the most part) being pajeet languages is totally a fact. While I was in university, more then 80% of students used java for their final year project in my class. I don't know why so many people like it, but they just do. Also most of those projects were about meme tier buzzwords like machine learning, ai and mobile apps. I had to do my project solo to stay away from such memes.
>my company outsources to a ton of indians, some of them seem pretty sharp, but tons of them seem to have no technical knowledge at all despite being employed with a degree
That's pretty common here. Almost every company I applied for was working either direcly or indirectly for some foreign clients. And most of them were only working on ASP.NET or something similar in JAVA. Having gone through the interview process for some of them, I can at least tell you that technical knowledge is probably the least important thing for them.
>How do you feel about that, living amongst it? do you feel like you're being lumped in with thousands of lesser programmers?
I don't think I can do anything for them, but personally, I try to stay away from all of these things as much as possible. Right now I'm working as a software engineer for a small company, doing audio analysis. We primarily use Golang for the internal tools that we've made.

Really easy to debug. After trying to fix countless heißenbugs and SIGSEGVs for my C++ highschool graduation project debugging Java code feels like one of the easiest things in life. Java makes it easy to write terrible code and to catch and fix issues early that would cripple any C++ project beyond any chance of recovery, which is exactly why Java is popular among retards and lazy people.

Go with BASH instead
I'd rather use pure bourne than bash, if I'm going to use something third party I'd pick almost anything else. TCSH, PS, even things like Perl over BASH.
