Opinions on Queens Of The Stone Age?

Opinions on Queens Of The Stone Age?

Josh turned Alex Turner into the faggot that he is today so that's something.

first three albums are pretty cool

they got all bloated after that

>Queens of the Stone Age
>Stone Temple Pilots
>Twenty One Pilots
>Silversun Pickups

>Temple of Dog
Also
>Stone Roses
>Rolling Stones

my opinion is I wish they'd release another album already god damn

SFTD>Rated R>LC>S/T>LTP>EV

Pretty great band

I like Lullabies. And Era Vulgaris has some good songs too

Haven't heard the latest one

butt rock in disguise marketed at redditors

Nah, Rated R was better than SFTD.

I laughed out loud at how stupid this comment is

I don't even know what butt rock is

I think you are being ironic, at least I hope you are

>Haven't heard the latest one
it's pretty fucking good, go listen to it as soon as you can

One of the bands that fall into the accessible indie meme band category that hipster college students eat up.

Rated R>EV>LC>SFTD>LTP>ST

(Though I may be bias toward EV because I love muh industrial)

Put S/T at the end and I'd agree

I absolutely love them. One of the most reliable and consistent rock bands around right now.

It was such a great album after the gradual decline of the 2000s, with EV bordering on boring. It's not as good as R or SFTD but goddamn it's close and feels like a real progression for Homme.

Josh Homme is a mastermind, and everyone from their current lineup is a hell of a musician.
Every album has it's own distinctive sound, and hold a certain relation between the lyrics of their songs, giving some of them the feel of a concept album.

SFTD>R>S/T>LC>LTP>EV

Are you kidding me? AnCo is 10x more Reddit than QotSA. But thats not to say that QotSA isn't Reddit.

>QotSA
>Reddit

what has become of Sup Forums? why the fuck is everything considered reddit now? if everything is reddit, then... is Sup Forums reddit too?

cycle of fifths

Not even him but most of these borderline decent indie bands are pure reddit tier. Mainstream enough to be acceptable but just ever so slightly experimental that your hipster HS/college student can make somthing out of it. AnCo, Radiohead, Tame Imapala, QoTSA, Kanye, AJJ, etc.

It just became synonymous with anything somebody doesn't like.

QotSA rules.

so that's the definition of reddit? everything that's not part of your super underground, not mainstream, most likely unpopular group of interests is reddit? that just sounds like hipster faggotry

Kyuss >>>>>>>

>is Sup Forums reddit too?
oh shiet

No because Kendrick Lamar, Beach Boys, and Slint just to name a few all have actual interesting output and I wouldn't call those super underground and unpopular.

no different than foo fighters

hey at least foo fighters have a lot of catchy melodies

Fuck off, faggot.

holy shit dude

Radiohead, QoTSA, and AnCo all have multiple albums far better than anything Kendrick Lamar has done. I don't even care about the aforementioned artists, just know that your elitism is based on laughably entry-level taste.

Those are not my favorite artists, I was naming examples.

Radiohead and QoTSA are infinitely better than Kendrick Lamar.

there's no disguise and it's damn good buttrock

>Kendrick Lamar

ok.

>Kendrick Lamar

Like I said earlier.

I would call it a day if I was him, become a bit more reclusive and make solo albums like Lou Reed after the Velvets.

They've done their best work and my gut feeling is that the magic has gone. I don't think there's anything more for it to do, it peaked at Era Vulgaris.

I imagine they will continue with the aim of being a headline rock act for 20 years like Green Day and the Chilli Peppers.

I'd take the check and walk personally.

josh homme is less irritating version of dave grohl

>my gut feeling is that the magic has gone.
But ...Like Clockwork was fantastic.

Josh can be pretty arrogant but he doesn't pretend to be the savior of rock n roll. Also, Josh is far more talented than Dave.

>bernie voters trying to defend their indie sludge

Kendrick Lamar is a garbage artist that "indie kids" wank over far more than QoTSA.

>Kendrick Lamar fan accusing others of being Bernie voters
Top fucking kek, Kendrick Lamar is as berniecore as it gets.

What else is berniecore/cuckcore?

yeah, three more QOTSA albums, another TCV?

forget it

Josh homme the brooding guitar solo act

(in a log cabin drinking from a stream catching bears...)

Run the Jewels

seeKendrick Lamar is far more popular in "indie kids" that wanna be on the hypewagon

Bernie voters don't listen to macho hard rock like QoTSA, they listen to "fuck whitey" hip hop like Kendrick Lamar.

Top tier stoner rock
Rated R is their best work period.

Girl on the left is fit 2bh

>cuck who has no self-awareness trying to defend #BLM sludge

Literally one of the best bands of all time.

>stoner rock
Only self titled was stoner rock.

seriously I'm not memeing, I'd call it a day if I was you, where else is it going to go?

walk away and save your soul, or you'll only be doing it for pepsi or something stupid

...

Kyuss are better

Beyoncé, Run the Jewels, Drake, Kanye West, Rihanna

You've managed to pick the worst examples, idiot.

crazy horse
band of horses
la the band
la guns
guns n' roses
stone roses
queens of the stone age
stone temple pilots
twenty one pilots
matchbox twenty

>Radiohead
>Queens of the Stone Age
>indie
What? Both of them were on major record labels for many years.

>implying Slint and The Beach Boys are bad
The guy you're responding to is a fucking idiot but he isn't wrong about Slint and The Beach Boys.

but he never implied Slint and The Beach Boys are bad

solid band. doesn't pretend to be something they're not. Homme's guitar tone is legendary.

>You've managed to pick the worst examples
>the worst examples

Queens is a great band, though they probably came 10 years too late. (I'm aware that Josh was in Kyuss)

The problem with QOTSA's albums is they almost all suffer a 3-4 song slump of repetitive relatively boring songs. Songs for the Deaf's 3rd quarter suffers from this greatly, so does Era, Lullabies has a lesser version of this problem.

I think if Josh would take more risks they would be even more entertaining and good, but even as they are, great band of solid musicians, and Josh is a great guitarist, as well as songwriter when he's on his game.

the worst examples to justify his point of view, not talking about their quality (even tho Lamar is shit)

maybe I read it wrong, sorry if that's the case :)

Like Clockwork is a top 5 rock album of the 2010s

I like The Stone Roses.
