also do you guys think death grips could get really popular? I know they are on music sites but I'm talking about the general public. I don't care if things i like become popular like some people I'v seen.
great song.
too bad you have to wait through all of GP to get to it.
Spiks
>also do you guys think death grips could get really popular? I know they are on music sites but I'm talking about the general public. I don't care if things i like become popular like some people I'v seen.
It's unlikely, but I do think they deserve it.
More likely, in 10-20 years they'll be looked back on with some popular appeal.
yeah thats what i could see happening. will be cool to see the artists that are inspired by them and make similar music

How to turn government plates into a 10/10 EP
1. remove tracks 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
2. there are no more steps.
is death grips a joke? i feel like it's a meme that got out of control.
its not a meme. block them all out and listen to the music. and if you dont like it its fine
le older = better fallacy
Also since they started, everything about Death Grips has gone on a generally upward trend quality-wise. If you listen to exmilitary and then bottomless pit there is a HUGE difference. The production, ride's flow, even the lyrical content is clearly better.
>Implying I only like it cause it's older
I do defiantly think that bottomless pit is probably their best album, but I just feel like Full Moon encapsulates what death grips is about perfectly, and I love it
SPREAD EAGLE CROSS THE BLOCK, BIAAATCHHH CHECK ONE TWO
>but I just feel like Full Moon encapsulates what death grips is about perfectly
agree. The EP and ExM are a perfect introduction to what they are going for in general.
Same famalam
>Having spotify
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'MMMMMMMM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The entirety of bottomless pit, not one even mediocre song on the album, I think it deserved a 10 from fandango but whatever, incredible album better than money store
Hustle bones
Honestly, I think they might get some play on radio with Bottomless Pit. It's their catchiest album to date, and I could it really see going mainstream.
Deathgrips is actually horrible. If you like them you are a fucking autist.
Hunger Games. I wish they would've kept the minimalistic style
System Blower
I like that avant garde song with the loose, distorted vocals
Music taste is subjective. I find country music to be god awful, but I don't go whine on country forums that their shit stinks
>tfw you're the only person that dislikes BP
>only song(s) you like is eh and BP sort of
It is just really boring to me. It sounds like a lot of their previous stuff, but worse - though technically better. It just seems like it lacks impact/soul to me. Plus I like how a lot of the albums have their own "themes" or at least sub-themes within them.
Stefan swears every second word, what planet are you living on?
Also you are REALLY misunderstanding the type of people that listen to the radio, they won't tolerate garbage like grips
Blackjack
On GP
Let me guess, your favourite album is Government Plates
It's accessible and catchy, not directed at their core fans. Likely seeing if they can branch out.
I loved it personally, though I've been head over heels for everything but government plates (had its moments..) and that meme Reddit album
Nope, it's probably my least favorite. My favorite is notm and then probably JD because of how strong it finishes out. notm is on a whole different level for me.
Everyone is saying bp is super easy to get into and only requires a first listen, etc. But to me it's so fucking hard to get into, it's so draining with how similar a lot of the songs are, it's almost tedious. Which I've never thought about their music.
Told you m8. I just don't fucking understand it. To me it's SO outside of their other albums of accessibility.
Notm bp money store for me.
Notm was incredible. Doubt they can top it. Billy not really might be their best ever
You are just wrong, it's clearly designed to be accessible to off core listeners. Less harsh vocals are a sign of that.
Black Quarterback
I agree about the accessibility, people saying it's as easy to listen to as TMS. I don't think so as the songs very a lot (very similar to No Love Deep Web).
I certainly don't dislike it though, if anything it's done that Death Grips thing where my favourites on it are completely different after listening to it a dozen or so times (it was Hothead and Spikes, now it's Ring a Bell and 808080)
There's only two songs on BP that sound similar to each other. How are you going to complain about the similarity of the songs when NOTM is your favorite album?
I don't understand this at all, to me the hardest part of it to listen to is how harsh the vocals are (not necessarily intensity/volume) and how they blend into the music often.
Spikes hothead and ring a bell are some of my least favorite on the album. I literally do not understand how people adore spikes.
I liked that notm kind of had a theme going, and it wasn't as harsh. It felt more like a story/commentary album versus BP. Obviously all their music is commentary influenced, I just think toning back ride helped notm in that way.
>yfw death grips will probably never make something similar to gp/notm in terms of experimentation
why live
NOTM fans are bandwagonning retards
spikes' popularity comes from its catchy hook
not my favourite by I can appreciate why people like it
I thought government plates was their worst album by far, I said bp not gp
I really liked Spikes because it was very TMS which is my favourite Grips album. I still like it a lot but there's not much to it compared with 808080 or Three Beds in a Bad Neighbourhood.
I mean it's just my opinion. I am not saying that the entire album sounds the same, but I've listened to it about 8 or 9 times now and I (at least feel like) get the same vibe throughout a lot of the album other than standout parts in some of the songs, that feel like they were there just to break it up.
More than anything it's just a boring album to me.
i know but i'd still love to see more experimental stuff from them. whether you like gp or not, it sure was different
Bp flows so incredibly well, and Houdini is my personal favorite from their discography, and I'm a money store and notm fanboy.
Might just not be for you
You sound like you've never listened to a Death Grips album. They haven't had a single release that doesn't have a theme. You're not even making sense.
>didn't read my previous posts
Lord of the Game
Get Got and System Blower
No Love
Anne Bonney
Billy Not Really
Why A Bitch Gotta Lie
Can't decide a favorite off BP but BB Poison is my least favorite.
