Something very sinister and satanic.

According to Chinese/Lebanese Melbournites: inbreeding
According to themselves: one of the last white bastions
Dunno who to believe more

Apples, cherries, opiates, abalone, fights between the timber industry and greenies, really nice roads, a yacht race.

Sounds like south island then in which case the latter would be more true.

Would I be able to find work there in the timber industry as a young man with no skills?

Get a certificate in aborism first, shouldn't be too difficult or expensive. I think Bernie is the town with the highest unemployment in the country, but I don't know if the rest of Tasmania is as bad...

Of all of the animals at Taronga Zoo, Lions, Tigers, Hippos, Apes, snakes, everything, pic related has the most strict safety measures in place for keeper safety. They have big problems in Tassie with a type of contagious cancer, it's pretty fucked, the best option at the moment is probably to let them go extinct then reintroduce them with clean populations from the mainland.

Thanks for the suggestion mate

I'm also wondering if its the case that there is no work to do or if its just a town of scrounging addicts

:(

A white card costs about $60, takes about 5 hours to get, never expires, and you have to deliberately try to fail.

Would definitely recommend you get one.

My main issue atm is that I don't have a drivers license. I'm learning atm but I'm povvo as so I was focusing on work related qualifications rather than test/car

IDK how it works coming this way, but there is an exploit in going your way.
> get your Australian learners permit
> move to NZ, transfer to an NZ licence
> full licence
> move back to Australia, transfer licence
> it's still a full licence

My best mate has been back and forth between here and Invercargill his whole life, he managed to skip the whole provisional licence thing. Something worth looking into.

I've heard similar stories before, I'll look into it.

His old man is Australian, so he's all good, but his mum and stepdad are kinda fucked because kiwis get a kinda raw deal here: you pay tax to our government, but you aren't eligible for welfare benefits, so I'd recommend trying to line up a job or at least having some savings before you move over.

>hfw she has been paying tax since 1978 but isn't eligible for $260 a week if she is unemployed

Yeah I'm well aware of that mate, but the way I see it is I'd rather be over there with a shot at getting some work than stuck here on the dole and end up offing myself.

Chocolate.

>1978
That would make her a protected SCV holder so yes she could claim welfare. Anyone who came after 2001, different story.

Yeah fair enough. There are lots of kiwis here. The go-to jobs are forklift driver and scaffolder.

My sister is one of the few Aussies who went the other way, took a paycut and moved over there to ride horses in middle earth. I don't think she was planning on staying that long, but she met her man and they bought a house in Auckland.

Good on her, that sounds pretty ideal as far as life goes anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, I love this country and I'd happily live down south my whole life if I had half decent work, but there just isn't anyway.

I think she lost it when she moved back to NZ for a few years or something. Or maybe she's just talking shit...

...

I haven't been to the South Island yet. I rode a motorbike around all of Auckland and Northland though, one of the best things I've ever done.

I don't know.

Tasmanians are probably shit packers like mainland aussies and kiwis.
