What nations would you consider to be "great" nations? Nations that have done a large service towards the progress of mankind and exemplify some of its best qualities?
In no particular order: >UK >USA >France >Germany >Italy >Japan >Russia (Or the USSR)
Luis Reed
UK USA France Germany Russia
Ryan Scott
You're going to have to explain the inclusion of Japan on that list weeb
Landon Evans
>a large service towards the progress of mankind
So, do we count in Nobel prizes for lobotomy and such?
Oliver Long
Robotics industry desu. They're light years ahead of most
Carson Perry
Poland
Jordan Bailey

Elijah Turner
Portugal and Spain.
We're just resting desu
Tyler Hall
Why list Italy? If you're going back to Rome you surely have to include many other very old civilizations. What have Italians done in the last 500 years that was near uk, us, france, germany?
I'm also not sure Russia deserves a place among those countries. Their practical, lasting accomplishments aren't that meaningful. Their only claim to fame is that they tried to do what America would have done anyway or, in many cases, did before them/more successfully.
They were and are powerful for sure, but I don't think their accomplishments will mean much for the way of life people experience in 200 years.
Wyatt Wilson
>Russia I can only think of the space race, but what else is there..just asking
Cameron Baker
China and Poland is great nations considering what they achieved in ancient times
Jayden Thompson
*are
Parker Cox
And the space race wasn't even relevant, because America was better at it in the end and would have done it anyway.
If we're dealing with ancient achievement then a whole bunch of places are going above Poland.
Liam Russell
russia sent the first man to space thus won the space race, wtf are you talking about?
also add spain and remove japan ffs

Upvoted. Thanks to ethnical Pole Jan Czochralski, who lived in 19th century and worked for some German abteilung, what of course makes him German and me butthurt, we got technology of making cheap and large silicon monocrystals. This key advance allowed us to develop modern, semiconductor-based, miniaturized electronics. And without that we could not enjoy the Internet, its memes and valiant shitposters on it.
Really makes me think.
Ayden Hall
Russia really didn't do great with space though. They were fast, but very ineffective. Simply put, America wouldn't have launched the rockets Russia used to get to space. NASA waited until they were entirely sure their guys would be safe and the technology was perfect.
Russia shouldn't get responses for irresponsibility, and their countless failures in other missions clearly show their ineptitude.
Owen Martinez
thank u polan
Kevin Nguyen
why are americans incapable of accepting their defeat?
canadians: winning is losing amerisharts: losing is winning
dont add this philosophy to your list of accomplishments ffs lol
Easton Cooper
praise polan t b h

This is a stupid criteria for achievement. Can't take this seriously.
Aiden Taylor
It's not about winning or losing, it's about the long-term implications and success of an achievement. We're talking about countries that have contributed the most to the state of humanity. Countries that have done things that make us proud collectively to be human.
Russia sent up a sloppy rocket and have done hardly anything since. America has accomplished a thousand times more than Russia has in relation to space, Russia can only claim that they were first.
In 500 years America's pioneering of space travel will still be remembered as the root of space exploration, whereas Russia's technicality of being first then literally doing nothing will be a footnote.
Aaron Lee
Fun fact: Yuri Gragarin had a 60% chance of dying on that mission due to Russians deciding to skip the extra week of stress tests like the Americans did (who would have considered the mission unacceptably risky).
Carson Allen
> Nations that have done a large service towards the progress of mankind >exemplify some of its best qualities >USA
Are we deducting points for all the outright fucked up stupid evil things they've done?
Caleb Bennett
They also had no way of aborting the launch if the booster malfunctioned in the first 20 seconds after liftoff. Sergei Korolev felt terrible about it, but there was nothing he could do.
Christian Bell
I think cunts that progressed the notions of freedom of opportunity despite their contemporaries are great, as are cunts that consciously chose to go against the grain.
Examples could include >Dutch Republic during the early Reformation period, letting a new economic model flourish >Swiss during the early modern period, for trying out what would've been a radically different political structure >Mongols for their egalitarian approach to recruitment and governance >Ancient Persia for actually codifying the rights of the citizenry
Plenty of examples, but those are some obvious ones.
Parker Murphy
>Russia sent up a sloppy rocket and have done hardly anything since The Vega probes in the 80s were the last time they did anything cool.
John Perez
always knew poland was great

Don't bother he is eternally asspained at the us fire some vague reason. I'm just waiting for him our some one else to post the butthurt russia won the space race image so i can laugh at him

Many of the early Russian launches were stunt flights designed to one-up the US, but had no real scientific value. There wasn't originally any plan for manned missions beyond Vostok, until Kennedy's Moon challenge forced them to react.

lol amerisharts cant possibly conceive that russia has done contributions to mankind included significant advance of space exploration which won them the space race?
it was all ruse of no value to make americans 'seem' like they were losing! but thats impossible because even when losing americans win right!
how asspained must one be to hallucinate like this? lol
Nathan Gonzalez
Those that are existing right now? France Germany Britain Russia China Japan
Joseph Scott
Polanki.

Nope, try again

Not at all but putinboos live to exaggerate what Russia has done. Without taking into regards their actual culture and accomplishments.

if it was decades long id say russia won since they created the space station and still launch people into space
heck, everyone else agrees that they won. if anything, its only americans that arent capable of understanding this somehow

>if it was decades long id say russia won since they created the space station Most of the ISS modules were made by the US though. > and still launch people into space Using a 50 year old spacecraft on a 60 year old rocket.
Anthony Sanders
Maybe in 500 years we'll talk, but right now America is hardly comparable to any of those.
Mason Gutierrez
We're punching well above our weight in terms of historical relevance for such a new country senpai
Robert Russell
>they created the space station no they didn't
>still launch people into space most of the people who go into space aren't russian. and the only reason people use russian boosters is because it's cheaper and there's a mutual agreement.
>everyone else agrees that they won lol no
Zachary Rodriguez
OK, so please tell me where's the finish line of this race? LEO? Moon? Mars? Proxima? Where is the end of space, so we can see without a doubt, who reached it first?
If for a decade Russia for some reason stops to shoot its rockets on the orbit, would you say Russians still won the second place and Americans (or whoever will carry the duty) were one before last?
Thomas Bennett
America will define the last 200 years in history books. America shapes culture right now. America is by far the most powerful country, like it or not.
If America fell apart today it would still be among the most important all-time countries. Any argument against this is wilingful ignorance. No country has ever had as large of a military advantage over the rest of the world. No country has ever produced more revolutionary technologies than America has in the last 40 years.
Japan's machines are incredible, for example, but America has a level of ingenuity that really hasn't been matched in the technological age.
Connor Parker
Your country exists for 300 years and achieved less then the Netherlands or Portugal did in the same amount of time. You are on par with other former colonies.
Lucas Edwards
Oh please
Ayden Bailey
>Your country exists for 300 years and achieved less then the Netherlands or Portugal did in the same amount of time.
Netherlands and Portugal dominated as a sole superpower?
Brayden Foster
>achieved less then the Netherlands or Portugal did in the same amount of time.
Proofs?
Andrew Baker
The scary thing is, I think you are actually serious.
Carter Moore
yeah they created and launched the first space stations
did they take that away from your history textbooks? i guess they would because nothing could have possibly happened after you decided you won ... lol wtf. "all a ruse"
Chase Martinez
I would refer you to history books, but that is an insurmountable challenge for you.
Bentley Allen
Prove him wrong?
The only country comparable to the U.S. In terms of total innovations would be the UK or Germany.
>make an obviously inane, outrageous claim >get called out >start asking for proofs American logic 101
Kevin Richardson
Does your country not teach how debates work? If you say someone is, you're supposed to support why. You can't just ask them for further evidence or act like evidence for your unpopular opinion is common knowledge.
No history book places America as anything less than astounding - this is coming from a very proud German who is presently teaching in America on a grant.
Owen Martin
>>make an obviously inane, outrageous claim The U.S. is important is an outrageous claim? Kek
Ethan Lee
>yeah they created and launched the first space stations
Skylab was the first to be completely successful and didn't fail in orbit or the crew died. :^)

Maybe the bomb.
Regardless the USA becomes big after Europe tries killing itself the 2nd time. Before that it's irrelevant.

Too funny desu

Exactly, before it was both USSR and USA.

this is more akin to mk ultra where the subject creates an alternate reality to cope with things he denies. its beyond propaganda.
Lucas Cook
absolutely, however imagine if every american person and american unit of equipment magically melted and disappeared in 1941
the world would be a very different place
it definitely gradually rose from 0 to 100 starting in 1941 and culminating in 1945/1946
Jacob Cook
Nah, the U.S. was relevant by 1900. Even the Germans acknowledged that in Venezuela
Brandon Roberts
>Does your country not teach how debates work? It doesn't actually, we just blame all of our problems on the stupid Americans.
Connor Clark
oh sorry, i thought you were saying america didn't matter whatsoever
you must agree that the USA is the most powerful militarily and that USSR/Russia was/is the only country that is a conventional military threat to them in any way
war vs russia would be devastating while war vs turkey would be cute
Brayden Allen
That's not even what MK Ultra was about
Bentley Campbell
A better one. Can you melt away right now? That would be swell. Finally, world peace.
Anthony Ramirez
>World peace But Russia and Russians still exist?
Asher Butler
US military is obviously the most powerful, no one argues about that.
Angel Ramirez

i wish u could melt the americans who want war, but sadly they put us at risk because they do not have sex and only get sexual pleasure when they cause conflict and death
Justin Howard
You mean non Russians?
Liam Brooks
European theatre would have took a bit longer to finish up, Soviets would have had a bigger chunk of Germany. Pacific theatre would have been a mess until India goes war economy.
Economically yes, however the USA was still isolationist as shown by your sub-par showing in World War 1.
Xavier Wright
No, Ivan. We are the world peace.
Yes, we. Maybe I'm small part of the play here, but still the part. On your side things were and still are... different.
Isaiah Murphy
kek, if u could melt the faggot warhawks in government i'd be happy
yea
Nicholas Turner

Barely. When compared to the actual relevant nations of the time you did nothing of note.

Cooper Reyes
Really because the image of America as the world police or arbitor started during that time
Parker Robinson
>When compared to the actual relevant nations of the time you did nothing of note We sent more troops than Germany, France or Italy
In fact, the only ones who send more were Japan and the UK.
Noah Ramirez
you said they created THE space station, not that they merely launched the first one, boy.
>did they take that away from your history textbooks?
haha holy fuck how would you even know what a textbook is? do they even have books in your shithole non-country?
Samuel Barnes
That Kremlin shill ITT possess surprisingly good English skills. What happened? Last time I checked they used Google translate for propaganda purposes.
Jayden Foster
Nah it didn't. Your military was awful.
>We sent the 3rd highest amount of troops, we relevant. K.
