40% of Americans still actually believe God created the world

>40% of Americans still actually believe God created the world

Do some of them believe in Adam, Eve and Noah's ark as well?

Yeah most, idk what they tech you in europe.

Yeah. Creationists are an embarrassingly high proportion of the population.

>Wake up
>Darwinism is still a thing

What about dinosaurs tho?

why it's only 40%
Are they stupid or something?

This is what religious movement after religious movement will do to your people. Remember kids, Great Awakenings: never once.

that too, no one rejects dinosaurs only how it's there

America is really retrograde in a lot of aspects
>you cant be a governor or congressman if youre an atheist
>they still teach creationism
>televangelism is a big thing
>they don't use the metric system
>their taxes aren't states in the item price tags
>they take pride in ignorance
>shows like those old rednecks hunting ducks and the Kardashians run for a gorillion seasons while shit like Cosmos only runs for one or two
b-but WERE #1 in FREEDUMS
>prostitution is illegal
>drugs are illegal for the most part
>highest prisoner population in the world
>churches are tax free
>can't drink until you're 21
>can't do shit without permits

I think they just kinda say it because of peer pressure and then stop thinking about it.

They can't be that retarded, they're too educated.

Most are just cultural Christians who preach things they don't actually hold themselves to. Some are actually devout but they're few and far between.

They don't believe in global warming because they believe god creates the climate.Christians are fucking scums.

>you can't be a politician if you're an atheist
Stop it with this shit meme, the laws have been ruled unconstitutional

What do atheist presidents take the oath on?

Law book. I think Maddison and Jefferson took the oath on a law book even though they were Deists

Nothing wrong with that. Atheism is the reason Europe is a sjw hell hole.

...

>60% of Americans still actually believe the world created itself

>thinks god didnt create the universe with the miracle of the big bang
fucking pleb tier ignoramus.

Personally I'm of the belief that some creator must be responsible. Evolution does not explain the origin of life itself, only how life changes over time. The likelihood of life spontaneously coming into being in some form are minute in the extreme, and I don't consider the anthropic principle to be a sufficient argument. Further, there's the origin of of the universe itself yet unexplained. The big bang is a mechanism, not a cause.

I also believe, based on the state of the world today, that any creator which might exist is either malevolent, incompetent, inattentive, apathetic, or too alien for the human mind to understand or relate to, and as such I feel no compulsion to worship such a being.

That said, I don't really have a problem with religion as a concept. Most of them seem rooted in notes of common sense and basic decency couched in symbolism and mythology to make it more persuasive to ancient man.
I mean, look at the ten commandments. Even from a completely secular perspective, 8/10 are good rules to live by. It's a mark in the whole religion's favor if you can gut the primary justification of morality and still wind up with a passing grade from supporting arguments alone.
