Here you go, both of my parents surname suffixes/endings (mother's maiden name and father's included). I have provided all the necessary information without having to dox myself.
I come from a relatively small town and people from there might actually post/browse here for all I know. There's far too much at stake if my identity gets out, quite frankly. I'd rather not give internet strangers the ability to ruin my life.
Meh, I don't like him very much. Or maybe I need to see a better picture.

>how do you see the prospects of Greek language keep being spoken by Greek americans?
Those prospects are very dim. Back in my day we used to go to an afternoon school run by a local Greek church for years as kids. This is where we learned to read and write Greek, learned history, read literature and mythology, and took religious study.
This upcoming generation? Not happening. Firstly, Greek-Americans are not marrying within their ethnic group for the most part. As a consequence, their wives/husbands (and sometimes they themselves too) don't see the importance of their kids maintaining their cultural ties. Add to this that the vast majority of their family members tend to be here in the states, so they barely even have reason to visit Greece (and this divide only gets worse the more time passes and with a new generation). Basically, by the time you get to the 3rd generation, there is no "Greek" identity left in them. They are simply Americans of Greek ancestry. I know 3rd generation "Greek" kids who only know a couple of words, if that. It's disgraceful.
I was born here, but my parents were born and raised in Greece and the rest of my family are all back in Greece. For that reason I have stronger ties to Greece than most Greek-Americans do. I also refuse to marry outside of my ethnic group, but then again, I'm a genetic dead-end anyway so it's not like that will do any good.

First of all thanks for the detailed answer.I am not used to it since memes and shitposting is the norm.
If you don't mind i got one more question but it is kinda difficult, you might not be able to answer
how is the interaction between you and possible new greek immigrants? Not planning to immigrate , just curious.Personally i would be happy to see one of my own kin,no matter if he can't speak greek anymore or is greek/irish.Are there any examples of our diaspora helping new comers ?
Only if in one of your edicts you proclaim homosexuality to be a noble and proud pre-Jewish/Christian tradition and that we will go back to honoring and revering it as we should.
No they don't. I've met the 3rd generation kids that can't speak a word of Greek mate.
Αν kάνω kόμμα θα το ονομάσω Λευkή Υπεροχή!
>Are there any examples of our diaspora helping new comers ?
Yeah, of course, plenty. Wherever a Greek diaspora community exists in this country, there is likely to be a good deal of help. Just as an example, my parents wouldn't have even been able to get the apartment they have to rent if diaspora Greeks didn't give other Greeks preferential treatment/consideration in neighborhoods like Astoria, Queens in NYC.
This is still the case for the most part. Will this change in the future? Who knows. Places like Astoria are in the process of becoming less "Greek" than they used to be in the 90s or 80s. But even as of right now, the minute you set foot in Astoria (assuming you would) you'd have a community of Greek-Americans ready to receive you and help you.
does your mom try to feed you kεφτεδάkια all the time too?
That's good to know.
I should have asked it more generally, not just crisis and immigrants.Even if i visited just for holidays and met a greek american family i believe they would treat me as their own child. It is good character and quality.Same in canada and australia i guess.Or even in african countries where we got some still standing communities.
I'll have you know that my mom makes the best παστίτσιο in Astoria.
Her kεφτεδάkια give me heartburn too frequently though. I think they get too oily is the problem.
...
Do your parents know you are gay btw?
>tfw mom makes terrible pastitso
Alright lads, I'm going to Crete next week. Any recommendations?
>Even if i visited just for holidays and met a greek american family i believe they would treat me as their own child
Yeah, for sure.
Nah, that's one of the reasons I'm paranoid about my identity/doxxing. Neither does my family back in Greece, and I'd rather not give my grandparents a heart attack/break their hearts.
Where do you live Greek-American bro?
I know just the right place for you
massachusetts
Ahh, figures. Boston area? Where's the diaspora community in that area at and how big?

I'm sorry, should we go back to arguing about which Greeks are white enough and which aren't?

Ποιος είναι πιο ωραίος ο Φιλιππίδης ή εγώ;
Since most people drown in unemployment and stress at this age and time in Greece,i ve started thinking what i can do to achieve a calm, healthy life that pays well.We got the sea, unlimited islands and 20million tourists/year.
So why not become a professional diver and get a job in that field? There are numerous wreckages, ruins, sunk settlements down there.People pay for that stuff.Greeks, foreign tourists, ability to participate in archaelogic missions..And eventually even create my own diving center business
A life into the sea, diving is possible throughout all year seasons.Fuck the normie life
thoughts?

That actually seems nice, then I can go on vacation there whenever I want. I always felt some kinship with Greeks anyway. I know your officers train Armenian soldiers so I might even meet some of my people there.

Why doesn't Greece let all the refugees into europe?
Greece could make a lot of money with that like Turkey.
Because,
1. I can't type well using Greek keyboard, specifically I always forget/mix up where certain letters are (especially ψ, θ, ω, ξ), so it takes me much longer and ends up with dozens of typos that I have to keep going back and fixing (as opposed to English, where I can type almost flawlessly at 90-100WPM).
2. Greeklish annoys me and looks horrible so I only use it rarely as a last resort.
Also, technical/academic arguments require me to use English. For example, if we were to start talking about haplogroups, mitochondrial DNA, autosomal DNA, biogeography, etc I simply do not have mastery of that technical Greek vocabulary. And since I get into these types of discussions fairly frequently (well, on Sup Forums at least), I just default to English instead even when speaking to Greeks.
If you are not White, you are not Greek!
