Android Go

Android go looks like a great idea. Not only for budget chink phones that are going to be used in India or other shitholes but for older devices and creating custom ROMs.
I can't wait till Android go will be ported to other devices by 3rd party developers.

What is it supposed to be

tf is Android go

so what is the difference between Android Go and Android One?
This stuff is getting more fragmented every single day, why cant they just make regular Android good enough ...
I tried some octa core smartphones in the store a few days ago and they are super fluent. Damn man, does it really take an octa core to have a fast gui on a smartphone nowadays..

I will buy whatever phone that has good maps, browsing and is fast with lots of battery. Android Go sounds nice for me, I dont use other apps. I use the Mcdonalds app i guess

>Go
Cheap phones, low storage and memory footprint.
>One
Similar to the Nexus program, or Android Silver Program. (Stock feel, no bloat, quick updates).

explain to me why phones need 8 cores to feel snappy

You don't.

I have a Nexus 5 and it feels like total shit compared to the Samsung S8 I tried in store. Explain that

>he doesn't have a 10 core
stay pleb

That's what 5 years and a $500 difference at launch do to a phone. Are you genuinely surprised?

>needing 10 cores
Do you have to wear an 'Ove' Glove to use that?

uh yes? It was the flagship phone from Google. If they are selling garbage phones maybe the fault is with them

So you want a 5 year old phone fast like s8? You are retarded.

What a cucked attitude. Why would it magically become slower unless the Android developers mess up their code? exactly, it wouldnt. This is Google's fault for bloating Android and making a phone that was supposed to be fast: slow.

desu my s5 on lineageOS worked super fast.
Only problem was that it's camera went to shit without software

Cucked attitude? Dude a phone made 5 years later will be more fast because of the new hardware so you want a 5 year old i7 performing like a kaby lake?

Reminds my of the infamous "you're holding it wrong".

My i7 3770K (6 years old) performs better at 4.8GHz

Yea say that to i7 6850k and blame intel.

>lardass lagdroid users need to be enticed with junk food to install their latest bot net os

test

Because the single core power is shit, and the google iOS ching ling clone is a VM over another VM only to boot java (like the 15 years dump phone, but more convoluted)

I have a Nexus 5 with Lineage 14.1 without gapps and it feels as fluent as the Galaxy S8. I do use good resource efficient apps though. The increase in power is mostly noticeable when using shitty software or when actually multitasking.

I'd say the reasons to consider upgrading are when you're getting ram constrained, are forced to use heavy apps, the battery is dying or when phones get newer features like HEVC decoding, UFS2 storage or other things that would be nice.

its actually 2 clusters of 4 cores, one for power, one for efficiency
mediatek 10 cores are the same deal, but with an extra dual core extra lower power set

Go isn't some kind of fork, it's just Android built with certain flags that make it work better on shitty phones.

This so much.

I still have my galaxy s4 from 2013 with lineage 15.1, and it runs buttery smooth in my day to day usage.

Only thing i can't do is game on it (i did get hearthstone to run relatively playable.)

Why do android versions have such gay ass retarded names ?
It makes me want to buy a Lumia.

>It makes me want to buy a Lumia.
go ahead

well I want a 1520 but sadly it's out of stock here so I'd have to buy it in China, maybe that's what I'll do next time I go there.
