yeah so I dont think my cpu cooler (corsair h115i) is fitted properly. Like it's fouling on something stopping it from sitting on flat on cpu or whatever. Mobo is Asus Z370-I strix and i have done the appropriate modification to the backplate, now using screws with unlimited tightening ability down to the mobo (enough to crush CPU if I so desired)

Does a copper spacer work or lose all effeciency? Worth trying?

5.150ghz idle 45ish degrees but prime 95 sends it up to 85 deg and I don't think that's cool enough for a 280mm radiator?

Also apparently prime95 sucks and just puts heat into it anyway. Should I run a game and see what temp I get?

IT'S A DELID 8700K with 280mm radiator cooler

post on reddit man nobody responds helpfully here

NH-D15S because it's the best one they had in stock at a store closest to me when I decided to throw out my shitty, noisey H100i. I sort of regret not ordering the regular NH-D15, but I wanted it that day and I can always add the extra fan. No regrets throwing out the AIO. Running cooler and quieter. AIOs are a meme.

Intel stock cooler, it's cheap as fuck cpu never goes over 60 C and I can't hear it over my turbojet gigabyte gaymen xd 3000 god I hate my cheap assa I had to go for the shittiest gpu model to save fucking 20€

I have a Noctua D14 with a single fan and resistor lead. I don't gayme I use it in my workstation. It's absolutely silent.

In my old computer my cooler kept falling off so I superglued it with a bonding resin.

What CPU

What's the quietest way to cool a 65-watt cpu?

the Celsius S36
it's efficient enough i'd say it's around ~5-10 degrees cooler than my d15 i had before
i changed it because i barely had enough space to put ram in and i could only fit one fan onto it
now with the S36 i have as the name suggests 3x120mm fans on the rad on the intake side
i am quite satisfied with it considering that i am running a 1700x at 3.8

Upside down duster can.

>going out of your way to buy an ITX motherboard
>going out of your way to buy an eATX case

dark rock 3, it looks nice and is quiet

The stock dell 2011 socket sinks, shroud, and cheap-shit TIM in my T620.

Noctua D9l with 8700k on Z370i Strix. It's not really sufficient, I can only push it to 4.5GHz before it goes above 80 on intel burn test. Was hitting high 70s doing an abaqus simulation on 4 cores

>going out of my way
>delivered
What do you mean by this

Mine sits on at least 5ghz and I can get it up to 5.2ghz idle will be 50ish deg. It goes up to 85 on Prime95 test . Still think it’s running hot tho for a delid cpu

Hyper 212x, makes my Ryzen 5 1600X xfr boost to 4.1GHz don't go past 60 degrees Celsius.

Fanless cooling, but it is huge.

I am thinking how to be capable of keeping a 8600K OC (or 8700K) cool enough in a mini ITX sleek design case.

I suppose a good AIO + the right case will be the answer.

Freezer 33 because this video youtu.be/we04MQXb5sA and it looks cool

well played, but seriously
>defeating the point of an ITX board

...

NH-D15, because it's about the best air cooler you can get, it beats many AIO liquid coolers, and I didn't want the headache of a custom loop. Disadvantages: It's huge and the fans are a weird color scheme. A very fair tradeoff.

I use a nh-d15. Keeps my 1700x at 4Ghz under 70c
Though typically about 55c under load
. I chose it because it was the best cooling i could fit in my sff case.

CM 212, because it's good enough for [email protected] daily

>nh d15
>sff

Something here doesn't add up

It's a rather tight fit, but it works.

which case?

At least you aren't putting it on a X299 board. The second fan hits the RAM, so you can either run it with one fan or slide the fan up an inch and then have a hard time finding a case it'll fit in that isn't one of those ridiculous looking giant cube ones.

So you've stuffed that box pretty tight? I know why I got into itx

Raijintek Metis Plus

post a front pic plz, i want to see how sleek it is

...

>resistor lead
>not using proper PWM to control your fans
Pathetic.

youtu.be/FpjA3TdF6GE

Deepcool Gammaxx 400 can be left at minimum speed (~800 RPM) and still keep an overclocked Ryzen 3 pulling 75W at like 60C. Essentially silent, and they're only like $30. Anything more expensive than that and you're just buying memes.

Here ya go.

>I hate my cheap assa I had to go for the shittiest gpu model to save fucking 20€
I always do the same user haha

>cools nearly as well as a D15
>was significantly cheaper
>fan mounting clips are on the "rear" fo the fans thus I can use fans of any given thickness should I need to swap them

Basically the first two points are the ones that matter so i'm happy with it.

NH-D15S, because no other large coolers would fit in my matx build without wedging against the GPU.

what is?

I have a Noctua D14. I thought it looked cool and it was on sale.
Removed all the fans and the single case fan keeps all my temps fine been like this for 3 years.
My gpu is watercooled.
Summer or not its never failed.

Just at a guess I would say "Thermalright Silver Arrow", but that's just based on the fan in the middle saying Thermalright and the filename being silver arrow.jpg.

Fell for the Hyper 212 Evo meme. Settled because it was $30. Run an i5-4690k at 4.5ghz in a Corsair 100r Silent case with it and my whole setup is fairly quiet now that I swapped my dying HD6850 for an HD7770. It is an OK meme. I'm also too lazy to do any overclocking beyond the little automated GUI thing that asks if I play games and have a box cooler in the BIOS. I might actually switch out my running in the 90s meme Arctic Silver 5 paste for normal Cooler Master paste soon, though, I've gotten better temps out of it compared to AS5 on other systems/cards with less burnin time.

H100i. It has been my CPU cooler since the 3770K. Unfortunately you sometimes need to RMA them. But I like the clean look and the direct exhaust, especially since I switched to a 5820K some years ago.

I'll switch to a H115i this year, for RGB and fresh warranty, because mine is almost over. There is also a non-RGB version if you don't like it, otherwise just turn the RGB off, because it has probably a better resell value. The new series also uses ML fans.

And yes Hexacores are hot. The 8700K is rated at a low TDP, but actually it draws more than 140 W under full load and overclocked, similar to my 5820K. But mine is soldered and has a bigger die. It reaches better temps than my old 3770K (unsoldered and tiny die), around 70 - 80° under Prime95, 1.275 V. 40° while gaming and 60° when I convert or render.

Xigmatek Gaia for the main rig. Bought it because at the time it was $20, and it does a well enough job in keeping the CPU cool.

I had a Seidon 240M for just over two years. My CPU never went above 45° at max load and idled at about 35°.
About three weeks ago, it started making some crazy noises for several days, and then the pump died. I have its big copper plate as a paperweight now.

I now have a Corsair H60 in there. Temps are nearly identical.

Got a Noctua D15 and my 8600K OC'd to 4.8 GHz, still ever so silent. It's great, and I never idle more than 32C or so.

Pic related, it was pretty expensive alongside 2 be quiet Fans, but it does the Job VERY Well.
Sadly I now can't Upgrade my RAM without taking it off lmao

i have this as well

what's the point of this orientation? looks like it takes up more volume than a d15 for equal or same performance

>google DH15 compatibility in dual fan mode
>conflicting reports
Can I use a DH15 with the tridenZ series pls respond

Get the D14. Same heatsink, but with one 14mm fan and a 12mm outer fan that can be moved up the heatsink for memory clearance.

Noctua U14s. Didn't want a xboxhueg cooler with 2 fans that add another 3db of noise.

>with 2 fans that add another 3db of noise
You're not particularly bright, are you?

looks like the horizontal fin array sits above RAM slots so you are getting air down onto the RAM and VRM rather than just cooling the IHS/cpu while letting the memory or VRM cook

Cheap ass hyper 212 for my good ol' i5-4690.

Never saw above 57°C. This is temps on a hot country (SEA).

212evo. does what it says on the tin, for cheap

NH-D15 for a 5.1GHz OC'd 8700K
Because it's quiet and because Noctua's 'Austria HQ' is about 15 minutes walk from where I live.

Still in my first built PC. haven't had any issues.

This thing. It was ridiculously cheap and cools my 1600x to 24C on idle

Enermax TR360

Didn't settle, works great

Into the tra... oh well...

Cooler: Scythe Kotetsu mark II
Why: Good fans and had a good support experience with them.

Dark Rock Pro 3, pain in the ass to install but can't complain about the results.

I wouldn’t count on it. I have Corsair LPX with an NH-D15 and have just enough clearance.

Can confirm the gammaxx 400 is loke silent, i even set up push+pull setup and cant hear it at all

>muh LED fans
Im obviously a petulant child

HR-02, does the job and does it silently.

NH-D15. Invested into this because I figured I'd never need to buy a CPU cooler ever again. Keeps my R5 1600 at about 30ºC idle, never goes over 55ºC. Overclocked to 3.8GHz and 1.35V. Gonna swap out my B350 board for a proper X370 so I can push it closer to the 4.0GHz without worrying about killing anything in the long term.

Stock Wraith that came with the CPU. I'm using it because I couldn't get the one I ordered to fit onto it with the AM4 clamps.

>SilentiumPC XE1236
>Cheap for a twin tower cooler
>Manages an overclocked 2500K easily without being loud

Used to have one. Cools the memory/mobo/vrm's too not just CPU.

SilentiumPC Fera 2
Cheap and ok noise. Xeon 1231v3 never got above 55°C

Why are those Mainboards upside down?
Who designs this?
Why are you using it?

I got this because it was one of the only ones that came an AM4 bracket in the box. In hindsight, i should have gotten a better one and waited for a bracket but at least it looks cool and cools decently even with an OC'd 1600x.

NH-D15

>silent as fuck
>will literally outperform all AIO water coolers
>not that expensive

Oh yeah, should probably mention that this is a Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi.

...

Hyper 212 Evo, I've had it since 2012 and it's never stopped working. Using it on my Ryzen 7 1700 now, it's still working perfectly, just need the AM4 upgrade kit.

I might switch to the the bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 when it comes out.

>Just at a guess I would say "Thermalright Silver Arrow", but that's just based on the fan in the middle saying Thermalright and the filename being silver arrow.jpg.
Pffft, sounds like retard logic to me.

Literally who tier

>upgrading from B350 to X370 increases overclocking potential
I am quite skeptical.

>$90 cooler
>"not that expensive"
On what planet?

2018... Not using an Asus star ice.

Corsair AIO cooler for Ryzen 7. I've very happy with the temps it gives me. And it isn't noisy but does occasionally make a gurgle sound since it's braced to the top of the case.

Honestly, I just don't like strapping 2lbs of metal right into the mobo. So I'll either go with stock coolers or AIOs. I do like the look of the cooler in your pic though OP.

There are coolers which hit the 170 mark an will perform worst.

Link? Fucking love weird and shitty cpu coolers

There is a great weird cpu cooler thread somewhere but I can't find it.

Didn't know Boeing got into CPU coolers

Hi ponchato, how ya doin?

>says jet on the side
clearly

Wraith spire. I really should add a couple 120mm fans to my case, though.

Thermalright Macho
it's cheap and it's good

How about that liquid metal cooler whose name I forgot

I just got a pre-built Ayy lmaonware and it has a liquid cooler on the GPU that is absolute dogshit. I mean it can barely keep my i7 8700 at 40C, most of the time it's between 40 and 50C IDLE, yes IDLE with a liquid cooler.

For reference, my previous build had a FX-8350 with pic related and my idle temps were near 22C. I mean seriously, it's insane. I know, it's an older processor and the i7 8700 is a newer one, but my fucking god you would think a liquid cooler would be much lower.

Also, the shitty 1070 that comes with the Aurora R7 has a garbage blower fan on it of course, and it nearly gets up to 80C when gaming.

Oh goy, two (you)'s for the price of one.

The orientation hardly makes any difference performance-wise. The cases I wanted to purchase just happened to come with that orientation. If anything, it makes for neater cable-management when the wires start off closer to the surface. Also it allows for a smaller volume since the compact placement of the PSU doesn't interfere with GPU's when the orientation is inverted.
