Sorry meant to post this

void a trash

>t. Archbabbie

because why?

Install gentoo

xfce's file manager crashes when you try to rename files

that is not gentoo

>compiling everything from source
no

*tears your screen*

I did, then I installed slackware over it because portage is too autistic.

You know it OP

>He doesn't use mv

Hello Pajeet.

>portage is too autistic
>uses slackware
Sorry, but how is having no package management less autistic than having package management?

>uganda
>xfeces
>relying on shitty aging tools using outdated gtk
>needing a "linux for human beings"
>not using pure debian
>not using lxqt
>not using superior qt programs
Are you happy? Because some say ignorance is bliss.

If you run a systemd distro you might as well switch to windows desu.

>Not using pure Debian

Gee I sure love waiting 7 years between versions.

retarded package manager
shit in the repos segfault
you have to clone a repo with all packages to make your own

Just use sid.

Lxqt is better than KDE?

KDE, despite its stellar customizability and recent major performance boost, is still the most buggy DE available.

install gentoo
>stability that rivals debian
>control over features that other distros choose for the user
>mix ancient and bleeding edge packages without fear of major breakage
>package manager is a joy to work with
>software optimized for your hardware
>no botnet unless the user chooses botnet

It's very buggy still, but it does run much better than it used to. I think it's about as light as Xfce, if not lighter, with little effects.

>he doesn't know about gslapt

That's testing, right?

>xorg takes 5 hours to compile

It's unstable, which is actually not that unstable. More like Arch.

In 10 year old hardware. Get a CPU manufactured in the last couple of years.
Firefox compiles in under 20 minutes here.

Remember, unstable is testing, testing is stable and stable is old.

if you actually want to do work on your computer, why waste 20 minutes compiling?

I'm on testing right now. I used stable for a while, liked it, but wanted more performance from my GPU so I figured upgrading to testing would improve the FOSS AMD drivers (it seems to have a bit). I have an HD 6950 - not sure if going to Sid would help at all?

How quickly do sid packages make it into testing?

You know I can just keep using firefox while the new version compiles, right?

Why not use just Debian with Xfce, cuck much?

Why not use debian + i3 as your DE and learn how to write scripts and shit? you also learn much from your computer.

Yes, xfce works perfectly out of the box, and it's a wonderful DE.
Why not try to go minimal and learn other stuff? i3 should be the optimal choice for Sup Forums

i3 ugly

>decide to install gentoo
>get everything partitioned and shit
>alright, let's compile this bitch
>I'll go make some coffee
>...
>2 hours later
>still fucking compiling
>say fuck it and go back to debian testing

install mint

>thinks slackware has no package management
slackware only doesn't have mandatory dependency resolution, meaning it has none of that annoying masking bullshit portage does. But otherwise it has plenty of packaging and dependency tracking tools if you wish to use them.

docs.slackware.com/slackware:package_and_dependency_management_shouldn_t_put_you_off_slackware

in other words:
>gentoo = nagging jewish grandmother that complains about everything
>slackware = chill af roommate that's cool with you doing whatever the fuck you want

THis isn't cloverOS

>being a poorfag with a shit computer

Well I get problems when I try to use sysvinit on testing, but I don't when I use stable. Doesn't really matter though as I've already switched to gentoo.

Enjoy ur botnet

>deprecated garbage
use MATE instead

>Falling for the install Gentoo meme
