Has anyone noticed how internet addiction is now a normie problem? You see people, especially people over the age of 30, who are hopelessly glued to their phones.
It's sad. People like us grew with the internet in the late 80s/early 90s, and learned to control this habit. We're now watching boomers falling to the same vices.
Julian Roberts
>People over 30 are the only ones suffering from this problem What
Connor Hughes
>People like us grew with the internet in the late 80s/early 90s >not over the age of 30
hmm
Jaxson Barnes
thats not what he/she/xe said
Levi Diaz
The point is that because we fell for the internet meme (when it was a much better meme) decades ago, we actually understand the addictiveness of it far better than some aging boomer.
Joseph Stewart
was hopelessly addicted to internet + WoW when i was a kid, now I barely use my phone at all for browsing and only visits chans a few times a day. guess it's a cyclical thing
Ryan Walker
take the tedpill >cut off your home internet access >sell your smartphone for a brick >rediscover the magic of dvds, books and records >take your laptop to a cafe or somewhere with wifi when you need to actually use the internet this sounds pretty comfy desu

I'm 25, grew up with the internet and I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to it.
Elijah Jenkins
I honestly love this. They ridiculed us for years and now they themselves fell in it.

Sign up for course about "concepts behind video games" (human sciences course about history of game development). Nobody played any video games besides mobile stuff. During the first class with open discussion girls try to argue using harry potter as an example, few neckbeardy dudes with cheap lenovos plastered in gaming stickers sit in back.
These people spend more time at phones than I do at computers. They even might have more time spent on phone games than I do on WoW since middle school.

social media is explicitly designed to stimulate dopamine, especially for women. It provides more social validation than they can get from the real world
Parker Jenkins
What are you implying?

^this. Difference being like it always is .. the people who engage in things early on have a purpose and do so in its prime. Once it starts going downhill, such people leave and truckloads of normies cement the transition of it turning to shit. The shit pit remains for some time and normies being brainlet normies remain it while continuing to trash the next platform/experience intelligent independent people form. The cycle then begins again and again and again.
> netflix : amazing when few intellects were subscribers.. Normies arrive : turns to shit > internet : used to be an amazing place to explore the outer reaches of the world, meet people, gather tremendous amounts of information, etc ... normies show up : turns into a chaotic click bait disinformation ad riddled cancer > facebook : great place to connect w/ COLLEGE friends at your university and extend relationships/networking ... Normies show up : turns into literal cancer List goes on and on.. > Pro-tip : stay the fuck away from normies and the activities they engage in. In a gold rush, sell shovels.

>and learned to control this habit Ehh not so much, but at least I'm cognizant of it. Seeing old people staring at their phones/tablets is weird, but at least they already have careers and all that. The next generation is doomed. Also technology is literally why we have school shooters.
Alexander Powell
Well think about it, all boomers are normalfags. They were literally raised with what might be the most social conditioning of any generation thus far. They were all told to get cookie cutter jobs, cookie cutter wives, cookie cutter children, a cookie cutter house and a cookie cutter life. That's why they all think the same. They were all raised exactly the same way and played by the rules all their life, scared of what other boomers would think of the if they diverged. All normalfags are addicted to their phones so it makes sense that boomers, too, are addicted to their phones.
Nathaniel Adams
Another thing too: this is also why there are an overwhelming amount of boomers in conservative politics. They are all afraid of change because they've never really had to experience political change their whole lives. Everything was pandered to them for the longest time as they were the largest generation. Nothing really had to change for them. Then, genx and millennials came into play and actually wanna change shit. However, until boomers die off there's not gonna be much change in America. Until every single one of them dies America will still be in it's boomer era.
Eli Campbell
That's pretty high coming from someone who browses Sup Forums all day
Jordan Young
exactly. Same with bitcoin as well. >worth fractions of a penny >only used by technologically literate people >gets more popular and now wall street guys and normies are talking about it like they’re experts >everyone else moves away the same happens with everything like you said.
Christopher Nguyen
iPhone addiction is real. It really boggles my mind seeing people unable to multitask looking at their friend's pics on instagram or some dumb shit.
Carson Morris
I saw /co going REEEEE! When they saw a little cartoon ponting it out. They made excuses like “ Uhh I could socialize with people by staring at my phone then showing people funney pics I saw XD!!”
Jaxson Perez
I've noticed it with the younger crowd specifically, not so much the boomers and xennials
The people like us who were born and raised analog in the 80s and were on the internet in the late 90s as teens don't seem to be glued to their phones all the time it's the millenial and later crowd
fucking normies ruin everything, then fat cats capitalize on it and generate revenue streams and fuck it up for the early adopters.
>Video gaymen: buy the game get everything whoop your friends asses and go to class the next day >Normies invade video gaymen: DLC, microtransactions, pay-to-win, EA in general
Dylan Hill
My friend has this problem. When its just us two hanging out, he just can't keep himself away from his phone to talk to other people in discord. It honestly hurts a bit because it feels like we're not actually hanging out having fun, but I'm just there to watch my friend talk to other people instead.
Ryan Jackson
Ho ho ho, you should see kids and teenagers
They literally do nothing but stare at their phones
Logan Perry
santa claus pls go
Justin Mitchell
> learned to control this habit Did we?
Connor Ward
first off, my names not santa claus it’s GNU/santa claus

>it's sad you start "did you guise realize" threads on Sup Forums son.
Jayden Martin
>Sup Forums which is it >surprisingly resilient at keeping normies away, maybe it's the anonymity, maybe it's the abrasiveness, maybe it's because special needs people will cling to this place no matter what while normal people will move on for reasons or >butt-fucking-ruined phonepostingchan with pop culture presence increasing by day or >????
also what's the normie opinion of anonymity, do they 'embrace' it or nah wtf user that's so creepy
Blake Adams
>what's a computa' you nerd, get a life >Oh a new post on facebook, let me send an answer from my iPhone
Noah Martinez
Interestingly young kids today don’t know how to use a computer. They know how to use a tablet and phone perfectly well but are just as confused as 60 year boomer when forced to use a computer running Windows.
Ian Turner
you're on Sup Forums, you have a internet problem neet
Austin Ortiz
I've noticed this too. Trends have been reversed once again.
Gabriel Reed
Not him, but I'd say it's a little bit of both: there is no doubt that Sup Forums has plenty of normalfags, this is inevitable since this website is the most popular imageboard due to mainstream media coverage. However thanks to anonymity this isn't a normalfag space-safe and they can be called out and shunned. Try berating a normie on any normal social media like you do on Sup Forums. You would instantly be persecuted and most likely banned for "hate speech".
Hunter Campbell
My 60+ year old mother plays Evony 12-14 hours per day.
Elijah Lewis
I'm 32 and have spent hours every day online since paying for AOL by the hour was a thing
Ryan Torres
Learn to do math before making one of these autistic generational shitposts, faggot.
But I'll bite. I'm only 18 and just finishing up high school. I notice this issue of internet addiction in nearly everyone I go to school and work with. They're like lab rats addicted to coke. I only use the internet to do one of my classes online, manage my GitHub, shitpost on image board sites, and find any information that I need right that moment. I spend most of my free time reading or programming, and never really got into social media beyond maybe IRC and shit holes like Sup Forums. The internet addiction is probably caused by a low IQ. I know that I sound like a condescending ass but most people out there seem to be a lot dumber than they used to be. I think this is caused by them not being raised to use common sense, or to explore the world around them. Instead, their entire world is fed to them through plastic and glass boxes that run on the powers of magic and rechargeable batteries. It's the constant overstimulation of their pea sized brains that leads them to addiction. People are stupid because they don't use their heads.
Nathaniel Ramirez
The decline of American culture accelerated by mass media normalized mass killings
Adam Ortiz
I'm 18 and i can't stop using my pc or my phone. It is my way to distraction, i can see anime, shitpost here, search whatever i want, learn shit for free and stay away from real life normies.
Actually the bad thing about normies is that they think they are not normies and come to places like Sup Forums and fuck it up
Camden Green
It's really sad that kids today mostly play smartphone games where the gameplay consists of watching 6 ads to get enough in-game currency for the next upgrade.
