Because AC is great for power transportation over long distances, since it uses higher voltages and loses less power, ie it's more economical.
Whereas DC is good for local consumption and it's safer.

How stupid can you be, there is no such thing as an ac transistor and even if there was, that would mean that there are parts of the waves where you can't do any calculations at all and these waves are only 50 or 60 hz. If you were to use something simular to a triac instead of a transistor then you would be limited to these 50 or 60 clock cycles per second.
you could also use a full bridge rectifier to turn the bottom peak upside down. But now you can't do calculations in between peaks. We can fix this with a capacitor. But wait, we just turned our ac into dc

Capacitors fucking block DC for components in series with them you fucking nitwit.
You remember sine waves from pre-calculus? If you put a sine wave on a graph with three points, one, zero and negative one (1, 0, -1) you can hit these points with the correct frequency and whatever amplitude you want but it still won't be as good as DC waves which are strictly either 1 or 0. You can have an AC wave between 1 and 0 so DC is much cleaner and more efficient. DC is the basis of binary which is on and off, or again, 1 and 0.

You're retarded if you think ac is better than DC. DC is clean as fuck and will give you a consistent sine of voltage. Ac isn't a consistent sine and needs to be cleaned with a capacitor to regulate peaks and valleys
