Gentoo or Debian?
GNU/Linux
Debian
Debian was so bad its creator killed himself.
Install gentoo.
gentoo
...
devuan, what debian was supposed to vr in the first place
>qato be*
Debian
trips of truth?
obvious once you decide source or binary
Debian
All distros are source based.
>All distros are source based.
Does it matter which compiler you use to compile the sources?
I wish there was a Gentoo with optional binary packages for everything like in most BSDs
Debian has obnoxious policies regarding "freedom", and their docs try really hard to scare users away from non-repo software
how do i upgrade kernel?
ofc debian
r u retarded?
Gentoo if you're not a corelet
Debian if you're a poorfag
Devuan if you hate systemd but it's kinda dead but if you want to try it go ahead
Proof read your posts or stop posting dumb phonefag.
I use Gentoo on my personal computer and Debian on my work computer which has 2nd gen i5 and a mechanical hdd. I would prefer Gentoo over Debian any day, but compiling everything on a slow computer without SSD would be a really dumb idea.
On the feature side of things, portage is indeed superior than apt. USE flags, package masking, unmasking, upstream packages with 9999 version are some of the features of portage that I really miss whenever I use apt.
gentoo
Gnu Hurd best. U can try it
