Do you install the AIO onto the mobo first or do you install the mobo in the case first?

it doesn't matter.

put the mobo in when ready
put the radiator in
then connect the waterblock to the cpu

What do you think about this configuration: pcpartpicker.com/list/GCVvKB
It will be used for gaming (Dark Souls 3, Witcher 3...) and programing.

Broke my stock cooler yesterday when attempting to change the paste.

212 should be good enough for a light overclock too, so not the end of the world

intel i5-3570k
z77 extreme4 lga 1151 mobo
gtx 1070
24gb ddr3 ram
gtx 1070

is my gtx 1070 hitting its full potential with these specs? if not, what parts would allow it to?

Guy a GPU used instead and upgrade to 16gb of ram.

With aios its easier to mount the radiator them connect the pump to the cpu

See if you can wait a couple weeks for the Ryzen+ announcement. 2600 should be a nice performance bump from 1600.
Get a motherboard that with more vrm phases (you can tell by looking at the squares around the socket, usually covered by a heatsink) also get an AtX one if you have an AtX case. Might as well fill it out. And get one with 4 dimm slots. Preferably with a decent number of fan headers, but that can be compromised.
Get a used gpu. Prices right now are just absurd. Gtx 960/970/ 770/780 will be more than enough to hold you over for a few months to a year.
Get 2 sticks of ram for dual channel, higher speed if you can afford. People will suggest 16gb, but I disagree. You can do 8, but later down the road you will probably want an upgrade.
The case looks like it will choke airflow pretty badly. Personally not a fan, but it's affordable and looks nice, so that's on you I suppose.
500 is absolutely not enough storage for a gaming pc. You really want at least a 750gb drive. I also /strongly/ recommend a 120-275gb ssd.
At least you picked a decent power supply.

pcpartpicker.com/list/d9YD3b
- better mobo, gigabyte has shit vrms
- much better ram
- better psu
- bigger hdd
i'd recommend picking a non-meme case and adding an ssd if you can

Is it bad that i will get a locked 8400 for a z370 board?

im planning to get 1080ti in the near future

pcpartpicker.com/list/LMQHxG
Here's a better starting point for you, user. Others here feel free to rip this apart. The hard drive in particular I'm not sure about. Also I'm pretty sure some of these are on sale.
I'm not sure you really know what you're talking about. That system shouldn't show any bottlenecks if you oc the cpu and get a decent speed on that ram. Are you unhappy with your current performance in any way?
Are you asking a question? Or just having a conversation with yourself?
60hz nah it's good. High refresh I always recommend cpu overclocking. H370 should be out soon™ though.

>Are you unhappy with your current performance in any way
Mainly with the CPU. It's basically the thing that hinders my performance in anything. Pretty much any time I get lag it's from it not being able to handle what I'm doing and staying at 90-100%.

>Lag
Not exactly a technical term there, friend. Are you watching your fps counters? What game(s)? What cpu speed? What ram speed? What resolution and refresh rate?

1080p, any cpu intensive game or software. not at my PC now so can't say the speeds off the top of my head, but refresh rate is 144 hz. should also note I only have one 1070

I think I'm in love

I'd like to get a better video card than my R9 270x. The 2GB VRAM buffer is somewhat limiting in >gaymes.
What are some consistently cheap >2GB video cards on the market? The only thing I was after was something better than my current card, and over 2GB VRAM so I can hopefully ride the card for longer.
What're the chances of new video cards dropping anytime soon anyway?

I gotta say, the 270X has lasted nicely. Just wish I'd gotten a model with more VRAM, or a 280.

>3750k
>lga 1151

>What're the chances of new video cards dropping anytime soon anyway?
Nvidia are pushing back their next gen launch since 1000-series are selling like hotcakes thanks to miners and AMD aren't presenting any competition.

Buy now, I don't expect anything to be released soon.

I want to buy a new monitor. I narrowed it to two models:

LG 34UC79G-B
AOC Agon AG352QCX

LG has 10 bit color, 144hz refresh and freesync
AOC has 8 bit color, 200hz refresh and freesync

Both are big and have fairly low resolution, both of which I like because I am short sighted, so big picture is fine. AOC has analog input, so my retro machines would benefit from it.

Which one would Sup Forums prefer? Are there other options?

I want: 21:9, 2560x1080, 120+ hz, freesync and 34" or so in size.

anybody remeber those cheap ddr4 with samsung chips that easily OCed to 3200?
can't find link anymore

Is this a good deal Sup Forums? It's the absolute cheapest 1060 I could find, though I could just go down to like £170 for a GTX 1050ti instead.

>pajeet

1440p at 100hz beats 1080p at 144/200hz.

Just my opinion though.

It's shit based on what should be 3GB 1060 pricing, but pretty good based on the current market.

who's that qt pie?

It's a godawful deal, but unless you're willing to buy used then you're going to get fucked right now.

Used prices on ebay seem pretty shit too right now. It's not like sellers are unaware that they can gouge all they want.

There are plenty of good buy it now deals every day, but you need to get in quick. Any decently-priced card sells within minutes after being listed, because there are people (like me) who check the new listings all the time.

I got invited to a LAN party (we need to bring our own PC and I have no laptop)

However back when I assembled my pc I fell for the XATX meme and it's in a corsair 900D

Any suggestions for getting it to and back the party?

What's the best method of getting in on the really good deals as soon as they pop up, or close enough to the time they start?

On what cards? Should I be keeping an eye for Nvidia (1050ti, 1060) or AMD (RX 470/480 570/580)?

Thoughts on this cause I'm trying to keep it around 700-800 American dollars.

>AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.20 GHz
>AMD A320
>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB
>1 TB HDD + 240 GB SSD
>16 GB DDR4

Better take a B350 board so you can oc in the future, rest should be fine

I just check manually. There may be better ways.

Good deals on Nvidia cards are far more common. You get the odd AMD one, but nowhere near as frequently.

ebay.co.uk/itm/MSI-Radeon-RX-580-ARMOR-8G-OC-8-GB-Graphics-Card-/222858761861

Thanks bud I'll start looking at prices.

>falling for the vaginal jew

Reminder to not get memed into buying a dual core cpu in current year.

>>G4560
Get sick of cancer, corporate tool.

What are the usual cards you'll look for, if you don't mind? I'm not well off with money, just trying to find something could sell my card and save a bit to afford to upgrade to.

I'd go for this, cut the SSD to be closer to the budget or go for a 2x4gb kit
pcpartpicker.com/list/wKYD3

>user actually finds this attractive

pcpartpicker.com/list/wKYD3b *

Fuck this. I'm buying ryzen 1600. Considering 2200/2400 are 40% more expensive than 1200/1400 in my country I expect the same. It isn't worth at all

What, you don't find Fetal Alcohol Syndrome slags that look like they've taken literal miles of cock attractive?
Fag.

Kek
I actually prefer anime girls with cute feet thank you very much.

I'm not really looking for anything right now. It's just fun to browse. Though I bought a GTX 770 the other day because it was really cheap. And a broken GTX 690 that I might try and fix for the same reason.

If you're looking for a 1060-class card then you have plenty of options. The 970, 980, maybe a 780 Ti for Nvidia and a 470/570, 480/580, 290/390 or 290X/390X for AMD.

I'm going for 1080p at bigger screen because I am very short sighted. I already have 2560x1080 screen, but just 25 inches across.

currently i am running a Xeon E3-1230v2 with 16GiB DDR3 RAM

what would be a good and noticable upgrade for it? Main task is gaming

CPU, Mainboard, RAM and maybe CPU Cooler is what i need.

$350 (AUD, includes shipping) for a Gigabyte R9 390. I have no preferences on brands, probably won't be overclocking it. From a reputable seller.
Would it be worth it? Is (was) Gigabyte a good manufacturer for Radeon R9 300 series cards? I think I recall people shitting on their R9 200's, but don't remember exactly.

Gigabyte's 390 was the worst one on the market. Terrible, loud cooler that can barely keep the card from throttling at stock, which also means they went and voltage locked it. It's the only 390 in existence with a voltage lock. Avoid like the plague unless you're desperate and don't care about overclocking (or noise... or thermals).

Pretty much all I want is a better card than my reference GTX 660 Ti.
What about a Gigabyte R9 290, slightly cheaper at $320?
I missed the chance at jumping on a $300 XFX GTR RX480 8GB earlier this year, fucking crypto miners.

How much are newer cards (gtx 1050/ti 1060 3/6gb) ?

Looking to get an internal SSD, I'm relatively new at the newer NAND / NVME / M.2 drives and am curious what you guys recommend for a ~500GB SSD for Around $200 maximum.
Just looking to replace the stupid Optane drive that came with my pre-built with an actual SSD. Checked the slot itself and it says "M.2 SSD" and it looks like it can fit both configurations I've seen (the one with three separate partitions for the pins, and one with one large partition and one small one). Pic related is what it looks like.

You should seriously look at something else IMO. I don't know much about the Australian used market, but I do watch Tech YES City on Jewtube and he's always finding decent deals in Australia. Surely you could get a 780 Ti or something a lot cheaper than the AMD cards, since those are in demand for mining and Kepler isn't.

I'm rocking an A8-6600K and HD6670
should I get a RX550 or GT 1030?

Whenever i try to build up sth. on pc part picker i end up with more money than buying a prebuilt.

Is this one a good deal Sup Forums?

I think I've actually met this bitch irl. Pretty sure she got fired from her job and married some dude like 3 weeks later lol.

You don't 'think you know her' you know her or you don't. Or maybe you know OF her. Get out this thread.

the same parts as in the prebuilt: de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZcyCJ8 costs ~200€ less

Got this as a gift from a family member. Wtf can this even play?

Nobody beats Samsung at SSD right now.

Are these right? I'm running mostly stock bios settings other than XMP at 3000MHz.

This pcpartpicker.com/product/Ykbkcf/samsung-960-evo-500gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-mz-v6e500

thank you for taking your time user but together with the operating system and power supply i would be at 1450 again and as i see there is no cooler system yet. On the one hand i feel like building a pc by myself is the correct thing to do but on the other hand it looks like i would pay the same price for a prebuilt pc + a 3 year warranty.

Care to explain to a brainlet like my why the 1080 over the 1060 is so much better?

Truth be told i am kind of satisfied with my current PC (gtx 660, i7 2600, 2x4GB ram) but i do get insanely low fps at all these poorly optimized games i would love to play (Nier automata 20-30 fps even with FAR mod, pubg 20-30 fps, Kingdom come was unplayable at 10fps).

Also i unironically get 90° Celsuis temperature on my GPU while playing overwatch or Pubg, i feel like my GPU is dying soon. (here another brainlet action of mine, i was not able to unscrew the case of my graphics card to apply new thermal paste and i was too scared to use drastic measures like using a drill).

Either way i appriate any answer since this has been one hell of a blog.

is ryzen apu + freesync monitor a good combination? I could jack up the settings in games and not worry about low framerates and shit with freesync while not paying out the ass for a gpu.

Hey /pcbg/ how reliable is tempered glass?
I'm want to get the older model of the Cooler Master Trooper (SGC-5000-KWN1), but nobody has it in stock anymore. Now there's the new version (SGC-5000-KWN2) that has its side-panel replaced with tempered glass.

The reason why wanted the Trooper because it is durable, but now the benefits are void. I'm terrified of it shattering on me if I fuck with the temperatures. Is there any way I can replace the glass?

See above

Sorry I took so long:
>RAM speed is 666MHz
>CPU speed 3.40GHz, it's an Ivy Bridge

Yeah it was 1155. I was tired when I typed that post and going to bed when I reposted it. That's why I had 1070 twice like a retard

ya'll suck at pc building

In that case just get either a 2200G,/2400G as they will offer better CPU performance, and identical RX550/GT1030 graphics power.

did you put your computer in hibernation or sleep mode?
I think there is a clock bug with that and windows
it is definitely off

...

tempered glass is good up until 470F
unless you are freezing and then setting it on fire in quick succession you will be fine
its a tower you are going to leave it in 1 place and it isn't going to get that hot
you don't have to worry about durability as long as you arent retarded

I frequently use standby, but I'm not noticing a time desync.
Current uptime is 52 hours, but I've updated hwinfo in the meantime.

Just be safe I also ran a stopwatch on my phone, no drift.

no clue then but it is definitely off
there was people talking about a 4.5Ghz overclock on a 2400G but that was due to time desync

Of course, it's supported

Fractal Define R5 is rather durable in my opinion, why not go with that one?

As for TG, its about as strong as the glass in windows or aquariums, in some cases even stronger if they decide to put a thicker sheath in it. You never have to worry about glass breaking due to heat inside a room, glass only breaks due to rapid temperature changes, and you cant get the appropriate levels in your when it comes to air temperature changes. Its possible to break glass with regular tap water but that is a whole other story, the heat transfer between water and air are completely different.

The only issue with glass is that you have to clean it if you get fingerprints on it, and it's pretty heavy compared to a mesh aluminum/plastic panel. Also mine has a tiny spec chipped on it right in the middle, I think from leaning it against a wall. Otherwise great.

t. TT View 71 TG RGB owner

Is there anything close to the fractal design 804 case? I've noticed it's discontinued now or just hard/expensive to get hold of. Anything else that is smallish and can fit 8 or so 3.5" drives?

hello fellow neckbeards who's that mlady?

does it even matter tho

What are the ATX motherboards ready for a Ryzen 5 2400G? Don't want a loaner CPU from AMD - thanks

I can't afford new cpu, new mobo and new ram user, a 2200G costs $200 where I live

Why does cortana do this to me

how did you make your taskbar be like that?

On newegg they're all Asrock. I'd go to a PC shop, get a B350 PC Mate/Tomahawk and have it updated

Why a B350 if I have to update it first? I want to use directly my future 2400G. PC shops where I live are scammers

Is there are more autistic brand than Termaltake? Every time I see a build with one of their cases or EPIC RBG fans I can't take it seriously

I'd say PC-M25A/B but they're discontinued too, you're out of luck at that size. Get a Enthoo Pro M or a Define R5

You can confirm if they're updated out of the box in person, look for the Ryzen 2000 Ready sticker. You want to get a B350/X370 to be able to overclock

quick question, my friend was asking me for help building pc and I haven't been paying much attention to news since I wasn't planning on upgrading for the next few years. Is there something new coming out soon? I should tell him to wait for, or should I just tell him to buy 8400/1060 6gb?

If he can wait 6 months or so the next line of graphics cards should come out.
That way he can get gouged with the same insane prices for an only slightly faster card.

April is Zen 2 so yes wait. And there should be new 11 or 20 series GPUs coming out from nvidia "soon" but nothing is confirmed
