Yea, pretty much. To me story telling has pretty much faded from all genre at this point. Although I do like Todd Snider, despite being pretty poppy he does tell fun stories.

I actually like this a lot. I'll probably checkout more of his stuff. Its so hard to find a decent country singer nowadays that isn't a dinosaur, that just does covers, and that doesn't even make real country music.

Americana is just a name for music that incorporates elements of American roots music, like folk, country, blues, and rock and roll, but doesn't strictly fall into one of those genres.
