Post poverty stations and general Russian technology material

Why do Ruskies like hanging Central Asian carpets on their walls?

Probably because they have ugly walls?
Sometimes anything else is an improvement.

it keeps the house warm

Because real insulation involves work.

It's a common misconception that carpets are only intended for floors. Carpets are also made as wall decorations. There are even specialized carpet-woven saddlebags.

Because you start to appreciate extra insulation in cold climate once ice starts to form on your balls every morning when you wake up and take a piss.

Yes I am from Poccия and I speak from experience

Decorations, decorative stuff was scarse in USSR.
Sound damping, walls were shitty in USSR.
Culture, after some point everybody started doing it because everybody else does.

because Russian ancestor, great tribe of Tatars, live in yurt in siberian wasteland for millenia, hang carpet on wall for keep warm, and today modern Russian do same thing

Comrade here: my home back in the motherland was a simple cinderblock/brick construction like pic related with typical corroding roof. 6 of us lived in such a house, I lived with my 3 brothers & sisters in a single room and mama and papa lived in a small room without a closet. We had no plumbing so we had to fetch water from a water pump nearby and use the outback house to do our business.

Anyway walls were always cracking and falling apart due to low quality thin cement layer to hide crude cinderblocks. So we would cover the walls with wallpaper at first but once we rose out of poverty we started to buy fancy things but we worked so hard we wanted to take care of such things as much as we could. So we hung the expensive carpets on the walls to show off and take care of them at the same time.

>pic
What the fuck.

Not russian but my pc is poverty tier.

It's old as fuck (i7 960 overclocked and a 1070ti)

>he thinks that's poverty tier

Tin roof in the rain is nice
no shitty wood to blow away in the wind

No you're not

Heh, I did the same thing with a monitor years ago. Built a wooden frame for it.

yeah and I'm from MN where is frequently gets as cold if not colder than Siberia in the winter. I've never seen rungs being hung up here, I guess we just build better houses and better central heating

>typical corroding roof
Did you mean corrugated or are corroding roofs actually typical?.

dear diary, today a learned that slavs likes hanging carpets and electronics on the wall and roof

Pretty sure russian poor people can't afford galvanized roofs. Hell I'm impressed they could even afford to parge their walls. I always thought the wallpaper went on top of the raw unlayered cinderblocks.

Gets around -45~50F in January in Siberia.

yeah it usually hits about -40 once or twice in January. When it's that cold weather it's -30 or -40 it all feels the same outside. usual weather pattern is about 2 weeks of below zero temps, warms up for a few days to a week, get dump on with snow, back to below zero, repeat until until summer, as we seem to skip spring a lot. if we're really unlucky it warms up to above freezing before the snow so we get a layer of ice under the snow when it starts.

They help insulate, reduce noise, and fancy up the place.

Tfw slav but not born anywhere near siberia
Boring!

Damn, I had a home made "ottoman" like that.

They were used all over the world in medieval times that way, they just called them tapestries back then. Slavs kept the tradition, that's all. The reason for that is that they had no embourgeoisement, they literally went from fedualism to industrial age in one fell swoop, so the entire slav society was a confusing mix between medieval and modern age, people literally kept goats on their balconies in cities.

Seems like a good idea.

>(i7 960 overclocked and a 1070ti)
Fucking rich cunt. I'm on an i5 5460 stock and a Radeon HD4540. Count your blessings.

Whats the deal with the russki colecting old cpu's, and disassembled ones like those poor pentium II's?

>ANSI keyboard
I really don't care. You're part of the reason why everything sucks.

How's the picture quality?

That almost works for an aesthetic. An awful one, but a certain look.

Your cpu is like 7 years newer than that user.
He's bottle-necking like hell.

Nah an overclocked first gen i7 is still decent aside from power consumption.

kindred spirits

Because carpets on walls are comfy you fucking animal. Get one on your wall or i will hack your house, erase all your porn, and come breeki in your cheeky.

Did he die?

CARPETS ON WALL ARE PATRICIAN

There is a picture, yes.

Gayland

I agree, who in their right mind would use antergos

I do. I like the convenience of not having to fuck around with repos to install the DE I like. Installing any DE on a running OS is a fucking nightmare, removing it even more so. Even the fucking dependencies have dependencies, and they aren't automatically fetched or removed once they're unneeded.

/csg/ is mostly Russian anyways

Wow, this is something.

post the part where his ceiling collapsed

Not just slavs. Tapestries are fairly common in older people's homes here in Finland as well.

Judging by the hotglue horrors some people post here, the monitor looks like that guy JIZZED on it for years. It looks EXACTLY like those figurines that had the same fate. No monitor looks like that even with constant touching (for whatever reason) or smoking every day for years. This looks different.

russians don't write "fuck it" on their walls

Pic is my pc
Rate it m8s

The jokes on us, now he has roughly $60,000 worth of processors.

Still lower than the medical bill for the tumors he'll develop from being in contact with so much toxic material.

Arabs live in a desert, but also hang carpets on walls.

>decorative stuff was scarse in USSR.

You could always hang pictures of Great Leader on walls.

>windows xp
Man I fucking wish I still could use it.

Hehhe

DELET THIS!

nice

The other answers are correct although there's more important part of it.

Some commie blocks were built like shit. The prefabricated elements didn't fit together very well(tolerances were made super loose) the windows were shit tier etc. Basically in cold winter the wind just went through the joints between the walls and through windows. On top of it, they were badly insulated from sound and nothing makes your neighbors as angry as you fucking your gf on 2AM. Or a crying child. You get the point. Carpets provided the little amount of insulation that was available and they were relatively plentiful as opposed to other means(beauty of planned economy).

Don't mock my dreams, user. There was a time when ternary computers could have been the way of the future.

I prefer Telegram and Yandex to Whatsapp and Google

HILLARIOUS AMD ORIGFAML

Nice try.
Second guess gets the gold, do you know me on IRC?
I had to special order this keyboard because I hate ISO layout so much.
Flaskchan is an imageboard engine I am writing in flask. It sucks, but it works for basic stuff. No javascript is a goal, so its not very pretty or reactive. Just GET and POST.

we also had that here (eastern bloc)
it's comfy as fuck

If you go to gam gams cabin you'll probably see some. It was a common thing in Nordic countries.

nigga this is next level

>I had to special order this keyboard because I hate ISO layout so much.
I have to special order ISO from another country despite the fact that my country is using ISO, because no fucking keyboard worth a damn is localized to my language, and the default version that is available in domestic shops is ANSI (international EN-US version).

insulation works both ways

>yeah and I'm from MN where is frequently gets as cold if not colder than Siberia in the winter.
Don't talk ass. The coldest mn has ever been recorded at is -60, compared to -90 in Siberia.
