UNBELIEVABLE

how do i "hack" a micro sd cards firmware to make it look like it's a lot bigger than it actually is?

Why are all my Skype calls recorded through Audacity sounds so quiet? The people I talk to have goo mics, are used to talking into it and have strong internet mostly. Why do they sound like they are on a bad phone line

I have very noisy power coming out of my USB ports that's causing issues in my DAC, and speakers.

How can I narrow down the cause? Or is this just the PSU?

Turn up your mixers

Probably impossible as those are likely in mask rom. Maybe possible if there is a patch backdoor or an exploit. Git gud.

Every two days or so, out of nowhere my PC goes into full throttle all of a sudden max out everything. For approximately 10-15 minutes I can't use it because it's frozen. At the end of these 10 minutes, it becomes responsive again and everything is fine except that my Internet gets disconnected. I've noticed that most of the times it happens while I open different folders in File Explorer; other times even while just navigating in Chrome. I've scanned it with ESET and nothing shows up.

Logs

If youre trying to delete a folder but it says that its open somewhere else, what is the easiest way to go around this? I've looked everywhere, and I don't see it being open, at all.

More specifically, it's my Malwarebytes folder. I have two copies for some reason.

Which would be better for mining between an RX 460 4gb and a 780 TI 3gb?

When you're writing copy (not code) in Markdown (or anything else, really) that will be version controlled, is there any consensus (or style guides) on manual line breaks?

Say you're writing a paragraph in a README: Do you manually add a newline when you hit 72 character width or whatever, or do you usually do the entire paragraph as one line?

In my mind, the former makes version control more useful, but is annoying if you have to manually reformat as your line lengths change. The latter doesn't require reformatting ever, but makes version control less... transparent.

Am I missing something?

Can I use a USB wireless adapter as an ad hoc network, then share an Internet connection to my main network using my on board card? I'm on Xubuntu.

Very loosely technology related.
>bought HDD on newegg
>the next day it gets further discounted and has a coupon thrown in
>15 bucks cheaper than usual (100 USD)
>mfw
Is there a practical way to get this proper price, or am I fucked?

Write to newegg...
You have a week to claim any price differences

What should I use to disinfect my touch pad and my keyboard?

Use a program called process explorer, which can be found on microsoft's website. You can then search the name of the folder/file to find what process is using it.

If I have a file I want to add to an archive without making it it's own archive, how would I go about doing that? Basically I want to treat it like a folder where I can put files inside of it as if I were dragging and dropping.

Cause you shed billions of skin cells everyday that get on your touch pad and keyboard. Also there are living microorganism that live on your body so you have millions of them all on your electronics

I think this might be THE thread to ask this.
Is there an adapter from this kind of DVI to VGA or is this strictly digital?

No

Why dont you google it?

I am googling it on the side and getting increasingly confused.

Very easy to look for
>confused
Perhaps electronics arent your thing?
Have you tried playing with mud?

Yeah OK maybe I'll try ignoring you instead.

How hard is it to google?
I mean seriously, why did you even post?
You can find your answer with the most basic of query

nevermind guys. I figured out a way how

>ad hoc
What do you even think that means?

You can use Internet Connection Sharing between a wireless NIC and a wired one. Your wired card can run directly to one device, and that device can also be a router. I would not advise retransmitting over wifi.

this fucker this morning called me 6 times until I answered, and when I called back it was a disconnected number.

Anything I can do to counteract this? It's happened a few times. My shit is ios (because it was free).

is there a way for a computer to have multiple, active internet connections? like going to a public area, connecting to 8 different wifi networks, and getting bandwidth from all 8? like an array of internet connections?

if not then someone should make it possible.

Using antergos and gnome shell 3.26.2, whenever I change workspace to a workspace that contains any windows, gnome shell crashes, how do I fix that?

Please help me.

How to install Windows 10 without paying right now after the offer expired.

I'll pay later.

Thank you very much!

how do i compile a makefile

Recommend me a laptop in the 300$ range that is decent for handling Android Studio and maybe some low graphics Overwatch.
This handed down 2011 laptop is not cutting it anymore. And YES, I'm poor.

If you were at home with two stable connections you could "join" them with a load balancing device. It would alternate what goes where, i.e. netflix would go on connection A, and youtube would go on connection B, but you could not watch a single video with bandwidth from both. Some shit like torrents operate differently and are more distributed.

Trying to increase the number of connections just raises the complexity and makes it all more unreliable, especially when you're dealing with a room full of shitty, competing wifi connections.

Idk where to ask. I've just installed halogens bulbs in floor spots and I noticed they got really hot. Are the (plastic) spots going to melt?

Idk if these are only for LED bulbs

What happens to atoms when you pass a current through them?

they turn into electrons

Memewarebytes used to be based and now it just seems like a complete pile of shit. I've had nothing but issues for several weeks with my computer, everything from it running as fast as a horse with no legs to not responding at all. Earlier today I uninstalled memewarebytes and now my computer is like an asthmatic who's just been giving three new lungs.

enjoy your housefire

Anyone got a good resume template?

it appears the spotligt is made of fiberglass

and the manueal says this.. see pic

So I think I'm OK

>low tech is tech

what is the best way to turn irregular reciprocating motion into rotary motion (in one direction)?

irregular motion doesn't work well with many mechanisms that I've seen. I just have an irregular back and forth motion that I'd like to create rotations from.

My 8+ year old Sandy Bridge I7 dell laptop is finally giving up the ghost. The fans wont turn on and it BSOD's randomly even if I manage to keep temps low. I think it is the dedicated graphics but whatever.
Is windows 10 as bad as everyone was initially saying? I have cracked programs and many gigs of data I want to keep private and installed. What about torrenting on W10?
>Redpill me on W10 please

>cracked programs
jesus fucking christ
if you already install rootkits willingly, then feel free to try W10

I am looking for a software to for writing down and recording my thoughts on various things(life, work, studying etc), I often come up with an idea or insight only to forget it a day later, its purely for personal use

I want to use something like wikipedia, many articles and some or most are linked,
is wikipedia even open source, do I need to actually run a web server to run it on my pc or is there like a html file (some template) that will allow easy creation of article files
I understand I could come with some crude solution myself but Id rather not reinvent the wheel, surely there is software with minimal install requirements that do all this?

pic unrelated

Wouldn't wikia.com/Special:CreateNewWiki suffice?

dayyyyyyum

Is MalwareBytes botnet?

Sorry but I am not paying 300+ for photoshop , it has been installed for 5+ years with no problems. Not everything is a fucking virus you dolt

its only online, no? I dont want to host my stuff online

What is the best live usb linux distro?
Looking for something lightweight and secure to use on various computers I have so I dont have to boot into the main os to do basic tasks on them.

ubuntu

Not everyone is a fucking brainlet like you , Do you think someone who can go 8 years on the same PC torrenting and installing cracked programs has no idea what their doing? Let me guess you still use Nortons don't you?

You have installed cracked software and have been using it for years on Windows, and and you seriously think you're not compromised?

Hahahahahahahahahahhahahaahaahhahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahahah

your digital life is owned in the same way the Mariposa bots were. they have literally everything

>calls other people brainlets while implying that installing cracked software is hard

kek'd

Whats the best open source resume builder or a site to find good free templates?

Never said it was hard
OMG , your telling me there is a profile of what I look at on the interweb and they know what kind of porn I like? Not news faggot.
Are you a bunch of fucking pussies that don't know how to pirate and just fucking take whatever cock you can find?

Setting up a website and portal for my business (translation). I'm thinking of using onedrive/google drive to host my files (but encrypting them first) but I would rather have full control.

The problem with dedicated service is redundancy. Is a good compromise a virtual server? I don't foresee getting lots of traffic just a few interested clients.

I'm getting a case with a USB 3 type-c slot in the front (pic related, Corsair 500D). What do I look for in a motherboard that can take advantage of this? Also, what do i look for if I want a motherboard that has bluetooth capabilities (without me having to attach an antennae or something).

I'm eye'ing this motherboard:
gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370-AORUS-Gaming-5-rev-10#kf

Does it have both of what I'm looking for?

Sorry if these questions are really dumb, I've never shopped for motherboards before.

Why does Steam shows 0 bytes downloading but it is actually downloading? The graph has stayed the same since it started, and all network activity in task manager is Steam and the download bar at the bottom is filling up. Do you think it's working as intended?

(pls respond)

>tripfag
>poop_flusher
>also has a pass
honeslty jordan stop posting

github.com/Kickball/awesome-selfhosted#wikis there should be something in there I imagine

I was using an old version version of daemon tools lite because newer versions are annoying and always starting services at startup even if I disable them, but the version I was using just stopped working after a windows update. What is the latest version recommended that isn't complete bloat shit

I use this external HDD device that holds 4 HDDs and connects it to your PC via usb 3.0.

For some reason, when I plug this in the disks refuse to show up, and in task manager they're shown as using 100% disk usage, all three that are inside the external enclosure. What the fuck how do I fix this? Can't access any of these HDDs due to some strange Win 10 bug.

It's worth noting that I had been having the same exact issue with my C: drive but that seems to have gone away after I disabled superfetch in services and got rid of windows tips and tricks or w/e.

Right as I took this screenshot with snipping tool all three HDDs finally showed up, but they're still slow as fuck, and I can't transfer files off them and shit. Even though all HDDs are not readable, transfer speeds to move files are so slow that I can't do anything, it's literally sitting at 355kb/s trying to transfer a single file.

Just a guess here but are the hdd's formatted in fat32? I don't know for sure but I would assume W10 only reads NTFS format

What's the best way to download an entire album uploaded to YouTube with the timestamps in the description?

All in NTFS. I'm looking at this walkthrough to fix 100% disc usage in Win 10, the first step is to fix a StorAHCI.sys driver, but I already looked under device manager and I don't even have a IDE ATA / ATAPI controllers to select for some reason.

partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/100-disk-usage-windows-10.html

Tried everything else and nothing has worked to fix this

So I assume this is some sort of scam to get you to call the number but I deleted firefox and the cache and stuff but I'm wondering if I should also reformat my PC. A windows defender alert also popped up. I don't understand what I did wrong. I actively avoid sketchy sites as well using ublock updated correctly. This happened about 2 months ago as well and it was the same meme. I want to figure out what I'm doing wrong since I haven't had shit like this happen for 8+ years and I thought I learned my lesson before.

I'm not currently using any pirated software, including windows.

joke's on you I love posting

restore from backups, no way to tell what else it might've done

Will that actually fix it? I assumed reformatting was the only sure way of cleaning.

by restore from backups I mean reinstalling your OS from the last time you made a system image (assuming you have)

Nah I was just going to get the windows 10 usb tool. I assume it's still safe to create an image and reformat.

i run netstat -ban and i get this:

and i don't have any program/process running. what the hell is that stuff?

if you create an image now you'd be making an image containing any malware, looks like reformatting is your only way to go

wait, what the fuck is wrong with ixquick?

Alright coolio, it was time for a reformat anyways I think. Thanks for the second opinion. Since those tabs were the only tabs open at the time does that mean the malware probably came from either Sup Forums or newegg? Or do they make delay-activating malware? It popped up as soon as I opened a new empty tab.

HTTP Keep-Alive.

probably timed malware (i.e after x it activates) or could be adware, installed any new software recently? could be something that came prepacked with it

Always ask Wikipedia about consumer electronics shit.

WriteMonkey and LMMS, and the steam edition of Muv Luv. Also torrented some airing shows from horriblesubs, linked from AB, pic related. About a month and a half ago I installed the Darthmod Total War mod for empire total war and the Morrowind Code Patch. However I nuked my morrowind directory multiple times before just settling on Open Morrowind.

Darthmod is the sketchiest thing imo but I wouldn't say I've really taken any risks and I had never installed LMMS or WriteMonkey before. However this did happen relatively recently with the same type of error message.

What is the normal temperature of an i3-8100? And of an i5-8400?

LMMS is open source and well regarded, either way just be more careful next time

How the fuck do I get a .jar file to actually execute? It's supposed to bring up Command Prompt and allow text entry but it does fuck all.

You have to open up a command prompt, navigate to were the jar is and then run
java -jar file.jar

If you're trying to create and run your own jar and it isn't working, this may help.

stackoverflow.com/questions/1238145/how-to-run-a-jar-file

So it MUST be run from cmd if I'm not making a GUI for it? That's some gay shit. I'm making the program for a fairly tech illiterate person and at this point it'll probably faster to just remake the little doohickey in C than to teach them how to run that shit in cmd.

make a .bat file that runs it for you, you can set some options there to make it just werk

Whats the most durable mic? Preferably under $20
I don't care about quality or anything besides durability

That seems along the right path. What do I do to the batch file to make it keep the command prompt open instead of briefly flickering it?

>Linux says CPU is at 40-50°C (AMD APU)
>Windows says 98°C even when the GPU which is connected to the same heatsink pipe is 20°C

Is such thing possible?

>What do I do to the batch file to make it keep the command prompt open instead of briefly flickering it?
include the line
pause

At the end

just put pause at the end of the batch script lmao, or you can pause your java proggy with System.pause()

Ambient temp + a few degrees

Different loads, hysteresis. Anything under 100 is fine for those.

Make a batch script thats on the desktop
have it do java -jar
Simple
Name it something relevant to your task

Pause doesn't seem to do anything. It's literally just babby's first java program, a line and a couple of scanner prompts, but running the batch file causes the command prompt to flicker on the screen and close before any input can be entered. Program works fine if I run it from Eclipse or manually via the Command Line.
