Where did you get that MSRP for the 1060 6gb? Nvidia's founders edition is going for $299

Rip me a new one /pcbg/. Just want a gaming build. Dual monitors with one being 144hz.

Is 1080p on a 1440p native monitor really that bad?
I'm thinking of buying a 1440p monitor but I don't think my gtx 1070 would be enough for some games, so I would have to play some of them in 1080p

I just discovered Death Grips and I CAN'T STOP LISTENING

What the fuck kinda games are you playing that a 1070 can't handle?

overheard someone say that ryzen has been hit by critical bugs like intel was, is this true ?

HOW DO I GET GPU AT MSRP

The whole AMDFLAWS thing is kinda bullshit

live at your computer and refresh the NVIDIA and EVGA websites

I do 4K on a 970.

Do they sell directly from the website?

Yeah man, they sell them in "Founders Edition"

EVGA charges around $20 for normal ground shipping though, unfortunate.

are 980s still worth it? i can get one under 300 dollars.

Building a PC at the start of next month; is it worth buying a reasonably priced graphics card now or waiting until next month in-case I get lucky and find a bargain before it sells out? Some guy told me prices will probably be even higher next month.

I am trying to troubleshoot an overheating GA-Z170-HD3P motherboard. One of the sensors reports about 70C at full load with stock clock on my i5-6600K and 115 with an attempted mild overclock (I stopped the stress test at this point and did not let it climb higher). I have ruled out the VRMs and the PCH.
What else could be getting this hot? Also I have a multimeter with a temperature probe at hand and have already tried poking around on the board with no luck.

The GPU market will never go back to where it was two years ago. People will pull a new coin out of their asses and retards will eat it up.

Hard mode: be the first person in this thread that's not me to build a computer WITHOUT any Corsair-branded parts.

>Refurbished Omen, 1920 x 1080 at 144 Hz
is there a refurbished pitfall im not seeing? im trying to cut down on costs

It's easy as shit as all their parts except some of the cases and power supplies suck ass

Realistically prices aren't going to go down until fall at the earliest, and even then it's not certain unless there's a crypto Black Friday and the whole thing collapses overnight.
If you can find a bundle or a deal that gets you even a little closer to MSRP might as well buy now.

>>G4560
Kill yourself tool.

Is there any case that functions like the Cooler Master HAF Stackers (I don't like the Case Labs products though as they look to wierd and expensive for me)? I was sad to see the line discontinued and want to get the affordable alternative.
I always wanted to put three little stackers on top each other with different LEDs, but I was too poor, then, to get the cases

Attached: 935-dimensions-01.jpg (1000x700, 125K)

Ok then.

Any real reason to favour one of these over the other?

If I can get an Acer GN246HL 144hz 24” for 100 bucks is that a good enough deal where I should pull the trigger? I know its not top of the line but my other option is a benQ which will be 200-250

>xfx card broke
>remember i have lifetime warranty
>wait no, my dumbass registered shortly after the 30 day window
I keep reading that XFX support is known for being flexible and friendly. To y'all who've done rounds with XFX, if a replacement is necessary, should I cross my fingers or just accept I need to either shell out excess cash or stick to my PlayStation?

>Those prices
Holy shit that's almost 470 USD. Are prices really that high in the UK? You're probably better off buying from overseas and paying the shipping costs.

The only difference I can see is the 2nd has slightly higher clock speeds which may result in minutely better performance. Up to you if that's worth 3 bongs or not.

Wait, am I missing something? Doesn't the first one have higher clock speeds?

>Palit
>Core Clock: 1620MHz
>Boost Clock: 1847MHz

>Gigabyte
>Base Clock: 1556 MHz
>Boost Clock: 1797 MHz

Sorry, the *first has slightly higher clock speeds (1620 mhz vs 1556 mhz)

Could anyone help me. My screen is stuck on this and I'm a noob. Have tried exiting but it goes back to this screen

Attached: DSC_0010.jpg (3840x2160, 2.53M)

Assuming by 1600 you mean the Ryzen R5 1600 then no.
Are the going to be better CPUs? Absolutely.
Better enough to warrant an upgrade? Not for many years.

Hold down power button for 5 seconds until the PC shuts down. Turn off the PSU. For a short while, short the two CLEAR_CMOS pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver. Turn PSU back on, hit power on.

Pls someone respond.

by the time that's out amd is going to have new cpus

Sorry I misread your post, I thought the screen was not responding at all. If you can navigate the BIOS, then look for "boot order" or "boot override", select your installation media there.

Can I get away with unhooking a single fan? It's the largest case fan, but I don't overclock. The thing has started making this god awful whirring noise again and despite my best efforts to clean it nothing seems to work. Last time I "fixed" it by sheer luck and seemingly pushing it back into position, but no dice this time, and I'm sick of trying.

Both times it's started after I was away from my PC for a couple of days, and I usually leave it on, so I assumed dust was clogging the motor. If that's still the case, I can't reach the motor because of the structure of the case, and I have no idea how to even begin removing that fan - plus, due to its size and position, I would likely need to remove my CPU cooler and that's an enormous pain.

How do I boot override? This is the closest thing I found

Attached: DSC_0011.jpg (3840x2160, 2.94M)

Assuming you have Windows installed, choose boot option 7 and restart your computer

Yeah that's the thing. Now just click boot option 1 and select the drive you want to boot from. That is, if you are trying to install an OS on a new machine, select the USB stick with that OS on it. If you already have an OS installed and somehow messed up your boot order, then just select the drive/partition you have it installed on.

If you have not plugged in the flash drive yet, then just turn the PC off, plug it in, and return back to this menu.

I have a 1070 but I have a 3440x1440 21:9 Meme monitor
I can't seem to get 120FPS on games to match the hz
Should I : A. Buy a 1080 or 1080ti new or used B. Build a new system because my sandy bridge is bottlenecking or C. wait for new GPUs

forgot pic

Attached: speccy.png (583x415, 23K)

Sup Forumsentlemen,
how much can I rely on lightly overclocking the cpu and the apu with the motherboard in pic related. Please note that I have chosen a custom cooler and that the build is a mini ITX one with presumably shit air flow.

Attached: plannedbuild.png (1204x572, 51K)

Get a new cpu its bottlenecking unless you have it oc'd to a high amount like 4.5GHz+. Technically a 1080-1080ti would do better as well too since your monitor is asking for more pixels. At least a new cpu and you should reach somewhat close to it. Preferably a stronger gpu too for that resolution.

How good is the stock cooler for the Ryzen 1700? I want to know if it's worth investing in an AIO down the line.

3.6 GHz - 3.7 GHz
Most you'll get is 3.9 GHz- 4 GHz. Not worth investing into AIO IMO

Nobody seems to care but I have made some progress on my own. The dangerously high readout corresponds with chokes that, unlike the mosfets right next to them, have no heatsink. Now is it safe to run chokes at 100+ degrees? Or should I add a little heatsink to them? Information on this topic is very scarce.

So I can keep it running at close to max clock speed 24/7 with the stock cooler? That might not be too bad. The minimum 3.0 GHz clock on the 1700 compared to the 1600's 3.2 GHz bothered me.

So I'm getting a MSI B350M Mortar, and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to see about getting a SOC vrm heatsink for it, as I'll be overclocking my vega 11 iGPU a little bit.

The main VRM looks fine but the poor lil SOC is nakey and HOT

I am starting to feel more and more like building a PC is a rite of passage. I am studying a tech major, and everyone I talk to has built their own at some point.

Attached: fuck.png (294x325, 11K)

We men like to play. You start with something like Lego Duplo. Then some years later you glue together plastic tanks and planes. PC building is just the next stage. To a student in tech it necessarily must look laughably easy. Which it is. But one doesn't build PCs for a challenge, one does it for fun.

>one doesn't build PCs for a challenge, one does it for fun.
I didn't do it for either I just wanted a computer to play my neckbeard games

How different are PWM fans to DC fans?
In what they are different?

Most men do the same but with cars or bikes, its a common hobby.

What's the most aesthetic PC case?

The corsair 570x

Attached: hotnready.jpg (2592x1936, 876K)

Isn't grease conductive?

It works similar to the lactose treatment for gold plated components

What would you guys recommend for a 6 or 8TB HDD? I will only be using it as a backup for my (growing) 4TB collection of tv shows / movies.

I have a 1070 and it played EVERYTHING I have played at 1440p just fine with max settings. Just got done playing Mankind Divided which is a pretty demanding game graphically and it handled it like a champ at 1440p everything maxed.

PWM fans can be made to spin at a pinpoint precise RPM and are easier to control programmatically. Nevertheless, they can operate just like a "dumb" DC fan when needed.
DC fans can only roughly match a certain RPM and are easier to control manually.
That's about it in a nutshell. Also some PWM fans tend to make this clicking noise when spinning slowly due to the way they work.

Can anybody recommend a cheap 1080p monitor under $100? Preferably thin

I think the cheapest monitors worth a damn will run you about $90, go on pcpartspicker and look them up

amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HIA63AU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521067136&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sceptre+monitor&dpPl=1&dpID=415r-mKSVTL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1

minor refresh

I'm not an expert on monitors, myself. But it looks like it's pretty good, with the reviews and such.

The language in this paper is so inflammatory, and unnecessary. It has to be personal, this Viceroy guy definitely got fired from his engineer position at AMD

>Intel has security vulnerabilities
>AYYYY INTEL IS DEAD BASED AMD!!111
>AMD has security vulnerabilities
>FAKE NEWWWWS!!!111!!

What did you mean by this? I have an 8600k btw so no im not a retarded amd shill. But you have to admit this shit is unprofessional

Alright what is the trick here, why is this cheaper than EVGA 400W?
>450W+30°C
What does this mean?
Why this has no reviews if it looks so good?

It will be used to replace a 200W PSU in an AMD office prebuilt that doesn't let me use a 75W GPU but it lets me if i use a 30W one or when i tried with my EVGA 500B.

Attached: EVGA 450 BT.jpg (929x577, 175K)

>AMD poozen

Attached: 1518090342450.png (653x726, 35K)

It just means it idles at 30C. That's not a bad psu for a 450W, should have no issues with an 80+ Bronze. I still have an 80+ bronze 650W from Corsair that's like 10 years old, I think they're pretty reliable, not sure about evga though.

Its a superflower rebrand, it should be reliable.

What does RAM compatibility mean for Ryzen? Will it not work at all if it's not on the QVL or will it just default to 2133 MHz?

Looks OK, but nothing special. Might as well just spend 20-40 on a craigslist monitor at that point.

Don't even bother with a that cooler, you'll get something similar/slightly better with the APU.

For Ryzen, you need to get something 2666 or higher.

I have a R2400G, B350 Tuf Gaming, and Ripjaws V 2x4 GB 2400MHz which isn't on the QVL and it werks, but defaults to 2133 MHz.

I asked what compatibility meant, not what RAM speed to choose.

Thanks. I was given some DDR4 RAM as a gift, I guess it may not run at 3000 MHz, but I guess I can't complain.

What do you guys think?
pcpartpicker.com/list/NLZqkd
Planning to get either the 1700 or 1700x, I already have the cpu cooler and the gpu
I don't know what kind of motherboard, but im sure that im going for a x370 one.

is the CPU market going to become even more competitive? There was some talk of the cannonlake not coming with an integrated GPU, how the new process has poor yields and such, and meanwhile AMD is catching up, Ryzen 2 should come next year and it just looks like they have a good scenario to get even more marketshare from intel.

pcpartpicker.com/list/NPy23b how would I go about making something more overkill?

I want the absolute biggest epeen on this one.

So you only have a CPU cooler and video card?
What is your maximum budget for everything else?

Absolutely everything should be able to run JEDEC 2133 timings. Some memory can't go past that at all, and others can but just can't hit their rated speed.

Attached: Cirno_Reimu.jpg (1024x768, 156K)

i already got the cpu cooler and the gpu (i got the gpu before everything went downhill)
maybe $1200 usd, but since i live in a 3rd world country and the prices are almost doubled, let just say i have $700 or $800

What does the cheapest 2x8GB 3200MHz kit go for there?

maybe the corsair LPX one (not RGB or Led), which is like 350 usd

>pcpartpicker.com/list/NLZqkd
newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.3755683
Get this gpu to shave some dough of your final price. Better card, free board, 50 bucks less.

Get the 1700. It OCs exactly the same as the 1700x.

*I personally own this gpu, and there is a great one click add on from gigabyte to take it to 2000 mhz, as it has a fairly good cooler (never really goes above 65 degrees C)

Jesus Christ that is awful
I would get
-Ryzen 1700
-K5, K7, or Taichi motherboard
-The cheapest 3000MHz kit
-A 500GB SSD if you can
-7200RPM HDD
-A gold rated PSU if you can, otherwise don't buy 750W

>I already have the cpu cooler and the gpu

Oh, nvm then.

Is it still in the return window?
