This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
Kinda illiterate when it comes to Seiko numbers but they have a movement called 8L35, which is basically a raw form of a GS movement. Is it just coincidence this new movement shares the L35 numbering?
Gavin Johnson
Aye, I like all the Canadians, they're just a touch north of me eh.
Seiko also used to make a 4L25 before they sold off the rights to the 4Lxx design, and a 4Sxx based on the old Daini Seikosha 52xx. All I would assume from the use of L35 in the name is that the movement would be positioned above the 7S/4R/6R movements and below the 8Lxx undecorated, less adjusted GS movements. I wouldn't assume they share any DNA with the 8Lxx as that is a GS movement and requires too much hand work to be suitable for mass production.

>not the gold or metal version You can be a nerd AND be /fa/
There is a SRPC03 for sale here locally, how much would you pay for it?
Isaiah Lopez
>This design is nice, but why is this Seiko 5 lookalike worth 1500 Canadian dollars used >but why is this Seiko 5 lookalike >Seiko 5 lookalike What did this creature intend to convey with such a display?
There is nothing more pleb than liking ugly expensive watches just for being expensive
Robert Morgan
If you think a Damasko DA36 looks anything like a Seiko 5 you need to get your eyes checked. Also, you probably shouldn't throw around the word pleb if you have no idea what Damasko does with the watches they make.
Evan Lopez
>"who's part of the islamic state here?"
no thanks user. i have one and it looses 2 minutes every month

If it's anything less than bathing them in the warm blood of virgins I don't care
Benjamin Ross
You're in the wrong thread if you don't care about the autistic german engineering damasko does.
Gavin Garcia
Did they used to make cases for Sinn, or am I thinking of someone else?
Now. Damasko used to manufacture cases for Sinn. When Sinn brought their case manufacturing in-house, Conrad Damasko decided he would make his own German tool-watch company, but fueled with pure weaponized Autism and the ability to free ride off a precision aerospace manufacturing firm.
did you really exchange Federal Reserve notes for all of these shitters?
Henry Ross
Most of them. A few are gifts.

I shall take a photo post haste

>I don't know why you need so many interchangeable digital shitters, but your other watches are nice even if I don't like your strap choices. I'm eventually going to sell off the G-Shocks and only keep two Casio AE1200s (silver and black on a rubber strap) and the Seiko SBPG001 (which is the GOAT LCD quartz and I'm never selling) for digital LCD quartz watches.

Have a non-frankened vintage HMT Pilot in the mail that just landed at Heathrow.
Going to buy an original 60s amphibia, swap the bezel and then sell my current one.
Fuck me dead guys. I tried to mod my casio terror watch, wanted to make it inverse display. >have every tool needed >got a tons of phone and whatnot displays >it's really fucking hard to get the polarizer film off of a phones display >using aceton to get rid of glue >of course it melts the film >nvm got a big enough piece 45 minutes later >taking off the film from the lcd on the watch's display >it bends so I may not put it back again >god helps, so I managed to put on the other film >reverse display looks really fucking shit in person >repeat the whole suffering >putting it back together >"which hole did I take that spring thing out from ?' >wrong hole, spring is trapped inside >shake it until it comes out (took like 5 minutes to get the fucker out) >close the watch after put the module back in properly (had to try like 7 times)
Watch is back to original, but I wasted 2 hours. Never doing a mod ever again.
The catch is you must be fucking blind because that looks awful. They stole the design from the garbage can.

Hey guys my gf said I can be in charge of giving her daughter baths from now on if I buy her a yachtmaster....
worth it?

I bet you rock that Citizen watch with full ROSS

Toughest watch under 100 bucks? Under 200?

The brand being called "foreskin" doesn't make the watch ugly. Post a mechanical watch with exposed movement with blue and gold colors that you think is nice.
Easton Miller
>The brand being called "foreskin" doesn't make the watch ugly No, being utterly hideous is what makes it ugly you utter pleb
Yes. I want to learn about watches. Can you give me a more detailed explanation on why it is ugly? I'm not trying to defend it, I just want to understand.
Gavin Wright
>Hey, bro, what time is it? >Half past balance wheel
What's with pretentious college kids always posting pictures of their homework and shit? It's honestly laughable
Thomas Gray
Guys, you're missing the best part: the descriptions.
>Daily water resistance (not for showering or swimming) >Hand winding mechanical movement lets you wear the watch anytime >Stop winding if the spring is full, otherwise the watch will be borken >The photo's spring situation is full >Luminous Design - Glow continually after absorbing light And the 1 star rating for this reason: >goods not come. exquisite. But that's okay, we have 5 star ratings too: >hello clock very beautiful mechanisim me trying ornament was very happy you were gonna istanbula about a 10 day wonder was too scared at first arrived around different color transmit the mi almışım though as they do well that pops out of order so glad this price don't miss
I almost want to buy one just because of the advertisements....
> In keeping with its spirit of breakthrough innovation in fine watchmaking, Jaeger-LeCoultre is revolutionizing the sports watch segment with its vertical-trigger chronograph system: gone are the ‘traditional’ push-pieces so characteristic of chronographs. They are replaced by an amazing new mechanism that makes it possible to start, stop and reset the timer device simply by pressing on the watch’s crystal sapphire surface. An absolute first in the world of fine watchmaking. With this new patented device, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s recently developed Chronograph Caliber 751B will be even easier to use. > AMVOX2 Chronograph Concept will forever change the way the performance-minded driver will interact with his watch. Just as effortless as pressing the Engine Start button in an Aston Martin car, the lucky owner of an AMVOX2 Chronograph Concept will be able to trigger and disengage the chronograph function with a simple and completely instinctive movement: by pressing on the sapphire crystal at the 12 o’clock position. To reset, the driver will simply press on the crystal at the 6 o’clock mark.
Idk but they are small wrists and it's about as big as I can go. The fois wears slightly smaller not by a lot lot but still smaller due to the longer lugs making it wear bigger
Ethan Martinez
That's the joke my man.
Dylan Gutierrez
how do you use the fuel gauge on the bezel? is it like a tachymeter?
Carter Brown
Slide rule conversions.
Camden King
It's not a gauge, it's part of a slide rule, google "pilot's whiz wheel"
Justin Price
I don't like it.
Wyatt Gutierrez
Ah, okay, neat. I thought it was going to be relating to fuel consumption per unit of time or something.
