Censorship is internet health. Non-approved news by major organizations is fake news. Free speech is problematic. Non-censored information hurts democracy.
Very interesting this lucrative social justice business funded by billionaire Ford Foundation...

Stick to ESR 52 and then jumping to icecat ESR 60

yes, mozilla is garbage. we all know this. they are trash.

firefox is still one of the only good options for browsing, though. well, so long as you turn off all the spying, at least.

just waiting out for Icecat at the moment.

>implying I'll use a browser supported by mega globalists
I'll stick with lynx and qupzilla. Occasionally if I really need something else I might use ungoogled chromium

@-moz-document url(about:newtab), url(about:home) {
#newtab-customize-button,
#onboarding-overlay-button {
display: none;
}
}

qupzilla is chromium basically

actually no. Your are confusing qupzilla with something else

that's why you never donate, money won't go to the actual active developers doing patches

ESR 52 is fine and icecat isn't supported by mozilla. Besides qupzilla while its nice doesn't have the amount of extensions firefox does

Only half right. It uses the qt frameworks and qtwebengine which is the chromiums engine

Not a white male on that second link. Jews muslims and niggers. One white chick tho, probably eats snatch.

>Only half
more like >90%

It's still more or less based off the blink engine ddue

1984 was a book about government surveillance written by a card-carrying socialist. Mozilla is not the government, you retard.

>It uses the qt frameworks and qtwebengine which is the chromiums engine
I don't have any problems with the BSD licenses that chromium license their engine. Also netsurf is another good option. Most of qupzilla was written independently in C++

>Qt WebEngine uses code from the Chromium project. However, it is not containing all of Chrome/Chromium:
>Binary files are stripped out
>Auxiliary services that talk to google platforms are stripped out
>The codebase is modularized to allow use of system libraries like openssl

that's what i meant

What do those links have to do with censorship?

There is literally nothing wrong with censorship. Even Freedomland has censored speech it didnt like.

Mozilla is using sematics exposed by 1984. Their website and blog is full of 1984 language

Mozilla Trust Initiative
Empowering Women
Internet Health
Good For Democracy

In one of their blogpost the new CEO wrote that information that does not come from Wall Street Journal or The Spiegel is not trustworthy.

The state of claiming you are defending good causes but actually shilling for billionaires and big companies is the definition of the socialist dialects. That's how they operate since forever. On the exterior they are doing things for the human race; the LGBT, the blacks, mexicans, trans, minorities, people living in civil wars... they ask donations to keep ''the internet healthy and democratic'' but they use that money to make deals with billionaire companies that have no other agenda than to control people.
Mozilla & Ford giving 2 million dollars to some low lives is nothing. As long as they put a lot of progressive makeup and blue hair they are the "face of the new democratic people of america xD"

You should be worried about the tactics that Google and other companies usee to maintain a dominant position over the internet and the world.

Did you hit your head? Literally none of those words are from the book or even resemble the language from the book. You can't just invoke 1984 to describe something you don't agree with.

And, also, why should anyone care about Mozilla's actions? Firefox is a customizable, open project.

well, yes, but Mozilla is hardly different from Google aside from their superior browser. it's a for-profit corporation that brings in millions and millions each year. just because Firefox gives us nice privacy options doesn't mean the browser is good.

Wow. People have lives that are political outside of the organizations they are a part of. WOW!!!1!

I'm ''invoking'' the core of 1984 book which is double think (cognitive dissonance)

WTF are you on about retard?
Kill yourself

Its just an internet browser you dumb sperglord. You don't have to use it. I don't even know why anyone would use Firefox in 2018.

Real talk. Once firefox ESR moves on to version 58 or whatever, what browser to I go to that still has flash and java enabled? I still like to play old flash and java games from time to time.

Google and Facebook completely fucked journalism and I don't want them or any other VC shitheads involved in its rehabilitation.

god damn mozilla get your shit together, i don't want to use chromium anymore

I use waterfox, but I'm not sure if Alex (the dev) will be able to maintain the project himself, specially when FF ESR is about to ditch XUL extensions support too.

>this much effort
lol thanx

hahaha sure is

Mozilla is a for profit company, the Mozilla foundation is non profit.
I thought Soros money covered them nicely.
They still have Yahoo money even though they refuse to honor the deal while they get paid by Google for the stuff they were suppose to serve Yahoo.
Mozilla is a shady mess.

The only reason I still use ESR is cause I'm lazy, the thing is slow as fuck.

There was a clause. Yahoo is just retarded and made a shit deal.

techcrunch.com/2017/11/14/mozilla-terminates-its-deal-with-yahoo-and-makes-google-the-default-in-firefox-again/

>There was a clause.
Legally Mozilla could've canceled the contract BUT fair-play would've been services done/money paid.

Yahoo agreed to it user. They signed the contract.

None of those links mention censorship or anything even close to that. The first link doesn't seem to be related to the others at all and actually looks like a good thing in general.

THAT'S WHY THEY SUED?

Verizon thinks they can weasel out. Fat chance.

I know, Mozilla has strong legal team.

>Governments censor people by forcing companoes/organizations to do it.
>but but it's not government!
jezus. What's next? Prism was not government spying on people because companies agreed to do it?

Building the INTERNET WALL.

What's the issue with the links? I took a cursory look but I didn't see anything alarming. What part was the 1984?

Qupzilla is part of the KDE project now and called Falkon

Mozilla was not SJW in the pa

I assume it's a Swedish contruction worker

The US government is forcing Mozilla to take part in these projects?

yes because why take advantage of processor-specific optimizations amirite?

>All fat people are sjw
It only works one way, you dumb nigger.

I use firefox but I am well aware that chrome is becoming much more convinient because of all the integration with google and gmail and other porgrams.
Google offers you a cluster of stuff all integrated ocnviniently and also with your android phone...
Its a nightmare but there doesnt seem to be any escape for this unless you are willing to use much less convenient alternatives.

I really wish I could just move to linux and have a free open source everything even if it doesnt look as slick as long as it works...
But there is no such things. All linux distros are buggy messes with tons of shit that doesnt run on them etc...

>US
I don't know about that one. But UK and EU is kicking all tech companoes to censor everything. In a wery nice 'you will be responsible for what is posted on your platform' way.

What do the linked projects have to do with this though? It was implied that they were somehow 1984 related

>Blue haired hippies weren't SJW
Delusion

underrated

Wtf is so wrong with quantum (except the sjw bullshit which is still less bad than the chrome botnet)

I replaced chrome with quantum since it was released and it's running great for me (chinkpad, i3 ivy bridge, 8GB of ram)...
it's much more customisable and no more random crashes that i encountered on chrome.

Waterfox, icecat and all other repos are fucking meme browsers...

Attached: angry_chicken_by_crazysane-d4r39d5.jpg (1024x680, 71K)

For some people those politics are more important than any tech aspect. Kinda dumb but eh whatever. Also some people are complaining about crashes. I have experienced less of them personally so can't really say. Also big sore point was the switch to WebExtensions, some people had cherished addons that don't have WE alternatives.

Imagine being forced to work there
It would be like a hell designed for Sup Forums users

When will you morons realize that no money means = garbage and find a way to crowd-source shekels on a regualr basis for projects and a way to disburse and evaluate worthy projects while taking into account some will fail and would have to be dropped...
This is your problem you free source loving faggots.
You are like computer hippies thinking that peace and love will change the world while allowing corps to power play and take over the world.
You gotta play the game and win from the inside. We gotta make sure tons of money is flowing into open source projects and that this whole system is more disbursed and distributed and more efficient than major corps.

instead it's the corporate dystopia long forewarned by socialists but which, now having arrived, is welcomed by the same with open arms because they made a rainbow flag version of their app icon

>Government trying to censor people by using any means nescessary
> but user, that doesn't sound loke 1984!
Go away

What the fuck, how are linked threads signs of government censorship?

Way ahead of ya!

Hair dying was a different subculture in the 90s and early 00s before SJWs became a thing

There is no speaking with your kind. Either so blind you can even see one move ahead... Or shill.

>When will you morons realize that no money means = garbage

No money is the cause of these problems. Organizations with money to throw around become the target of predatory forces. The SJW infiltration of Mozilla and the resultant inclusion of a universal backdoor used to install advertising on user's computers is the result of them having a budget.

Meanwhile my favorite software tends to be a labor of love. Talented people interested in a solution to their problem create a solution to that problem. They then share that. The surest way to kill that is to throw a million dollars at them to hire developers. In addition to the classical drawback of a person doing it for the money may not be as interested in the problem, there are other concerns. Hired devs require HR. HR eventually has to worry about complying equal outcome laws dressed up as equal opportunity. Eventually the meritocratic structure that made that software worth donating a million dollars to is destroyed by its own success. That brings us all the way from the best browser in the world to CIA nigger botnet that installs Mr. Robot advertisement malware on your computer without your explicit consent.

What this means is the year of the Linux laptop is the year Linux dies. That or the year Linus dies. Whichever happens first. Linux is already under assault due to its success and funding.

I hope this fucking starves to death.

What's with this ministry of truth bullshit

How did we let these fuckers keep doing what they're doing because of a bunch of nobodies screaming "it's a boogeyman! it's a boogeyman!"? How?

Since we have a firefox thread anyways, could some css wizard help me?
I'm using firefox in fullscreen mode, then forcibly (AHK script) resizing it to only half of my display (which is great, by the way).
However, fullscreen theme is trash and I have no idea how to change it. Basically, I want to get rid (or restyle) that minimize/resore/exit buttons and change background color on top (preferably to system "window border" color, but eh, black would work as well)

>Opera is a chinese botnet
>Brave is an ad botnet and doesnt even do what they say
>Open sores firefox spinoffs are all horseshit and slow
Why is there no way to browse the web in a free and relatively fast way?

Sure!

>>Open sores firefox spinoffs are all horseshit and slow
I'm using a 10 year old computer and I disagree highly.

Attached: 2018-03-15--1521133951_650x310_scrot.png (650x310, 17K)

>I'm using a 10 year old computer and I disagree highly.
Any browser you run on that is going to be equally dogshit, so how would you know the difference?

But you've said Chrome is fast, wouldn't that mean a Chromium-based browser would be noticeably better on my device, regardless of its age?

(Hint: It is better, but also a botnet.)

>regardless of its age?
You can run anything you want on a P4 but it's going to chug so hard at rendering anything the limiting factor will be the hardware, not the software.
So the implication I'm making is that while your computer is fine for browsing, it is also not indicative that the dogshit browsers aren't dogshit

Regardless of the age of a device, there will be a measurable performance difference between applications. Just because one machine functions slower than another doesn't mean its operating performance is irrelevant to speed testing.

GNU IceCat performs well for me, and handles most webpages flawlessly (Unless you go to a Google service with a user agent that isn't a Chromium-based device, then it chugs. Should be obvious why that happens...).

thats a pretty aesthetic theme. nice one mate

>he doesn't know icc throttles amd

He is jwz and pretty much the regular SJW if you follow his blog.
jwz.org/blog/2017/01/there-is-nothing-more-american-than-punching-nazis/

Mozilla was always SJW place, a bunch of hippies trying to change the world by pushing FOSS no shit.

Aww, I'm so sorry people are trying to prevent you from posting veeeery serious articles about how Hillary Clinton is a demonic space gay frog :(

>there will be a measurable performance difference between applications
Only if the performance is reliant on the software and not the hardware. Browsers are limited by data transfer and rendering pipelines on modern computers,
If it's on an older computer, that's no longer the bottleneck because everything will be in place well before the processor tries to render it.
I know what you're saying, and you're generally correct, but in this specific instance no, it is a limitation of hardware, not software. There may be minute differences in performance but nothing significantly noticeable.

Would you rather die by the hands of whites or by hordes of niggers? Trust me niggers might be worse.
