So we are really fucked up by the linux community. Ubuntu is integrating google and microsoft spyware in 18.04, the linux kernel is a mess, FSF and gnu don't even plan to offer a fucking non-bloated browser (icecat will be discontinued as soon as the release ESR 57). The only good thing about linux is debian repository and quotebrowser. Everything else just burn it, burn it all
>Ubuntu is integrating google and microsoft spyware in 18.04

Jackson Moore
don't act like something like this hasn't happened before.
Leo Cooper
That's not evidence tard
Levi Davis
>and gnu don't even plan to offer a fucking non-bloated browser (icecat will be discontinued as soon as the release ESR 57).
Did you eat a bowl of stupid for breakfast kid? Because everything in this sentence is complete fucking bullcrap.
Kayden Ward
So, what's the best FOSS distro for the "average Joe" now ?
Jayden Jenkins
Clover OS
Lucas King
Maybe finish the official website, then i'll consider using CloverOS.
No memeing, no shilling. What's the best FOSS distro(s) for a normie ? (Requires smartphone support (at least accessing the files), printer support, fool-proofing, ease of use... Let's consider normies only game on their smartphones)
Anyone running Trisquel right now ? What has it become ?
Brody Baker
>Salix OS man of culture
James Hughes
slackel is pretty good too in fact I'll install slackel on my windows 7 machine in a few hours after I finish some stuff
Isaiah Hughes
>opt out Why don't you allow a jew fuck your ass while a nigger cum in your mouth? you can opt out if you pay them 300k to leave you alone
Noah Hill
Take your pills.
Levi Mitchell
You know I'm right don't you. spyware on default install is the ultimate form of linux degeneracy
Luke Young
Then use other distro. Nobody forced you to shitpost about it in the first place.
Landon Sanders
I'm not shitposting. I like Ubuntu I just hate the fact they destroy their LTS with spyware. They don't need the money; they do it to please their sponsors
Tyler Parker
>They don't need the money; they do it to please their sponsors That's an antithesis, user. They do need money, but they're accepting to compromise themselves and their project to get it.
Dylan Clark
>They do need money false. Canonical owner makes 500+ million dollars a year in the stock market. Instead of using 5% of that money to pay employees he rather please their sponsors
Chase King
bump
Samuel Smith
CloverOS
Kayden Foster
Don't see anything there. Why don't you clue us in.
Adam Fisher
Antix doesn't have systemd you idiot
Nathaniel Cooper
Wow, you've finally realized it. Also ubuntu had integrated spyware since 2010 or so.
Thomas Sanders
Solus
Carter Smith
He doesn't make anywhere near that much you mongoloid
You = aren't making any sense. BSD crap is surely not a replacement for Linux.
Jacob Miller
Unironically Manjaro KDE, easy to install and comes with everything your average joe would use
Owen Smith
>the linux kernel is a mess Agreed, to a certain extent, but it's still very much functioning. Also [citation needed]
>icecat will be discontinued as soon as the release ESR 57 >what is iceweasel? [citation needed]
Joshua Ortiz
What about devuan? its just debian minus systemd, right?
Joshua Cruz
>muh opt out datamining at that point they are not much different from Micro$oft. Should be opt in at worst by notification upon install.
Xavier Evans
>icecat will be discontinued source?
Liam Carter
>FSF and gnu don't even plan to offer a fucking non-bloated browser (icecat will be discontinued as if they did anything other than rebrand it and add their broken addons
>Ubuntu is integrating google and microsoft spyware in 18.04 sauce?
nope, ubuntu is a test bed for their product for which you don't pay so you're their test subjects hence the opt out is correct >inb4 that cock is too big for your throat to swallow take your time no need for hurdur
Aiden Parker
>the linux kernel is a mess yet still much better than anything out there and factually much better than anything proprietary :^)
Matthew Brooks
>Linux will finally die in your lifetime and Open/DragonFlyBSD will get a massive influx of devs A man can dream, but more than likely we'll just get another shitty kernel fork.
>BSD crap is surely not a replacement for Linux. 1 reason why >iceweasel it's icecat you dumb whore
Gabriel Mitchell
> 1 reason why No inotify.
Angel Gutierrez
>NixOS uses systemd to manage system services. It supports quite a few services (e.g., Apache HTTPD, PostgreSQL, and Tomcat) that can be configured declaratively through configuration.nix. I was going to try Nixos to install mgba to play some games but systemd is a very red flag
Samuel Wilson
I'm pretty sure this has to do something with the growing corporate influence in open source communities ( like microsoft )
Brody Lopez
>Microsoft is buying control of Linux >It's happening I *sniff* sense a Sup Forumstard here.
Jayden Parker
Xubuntu doesn't have that problem.
Nathan Harris
Debian Devuan Qubes OpenBSD 0fucks to systemd. Disable most functions, create my iptables rules, don't use chrome and use a fucking vpn
