Microsoft is incompetent

nothing is as bad as 8 and vista. metro was a bad idea

When can we get Windows Classic from XP back?

KDE noticed how windows kept trying to copy them, so they cut MS some slack and gave them an old theme nobody wanted.

I don't know, fucking Pajeets probably. I miss my Aero glass.

because open sauce looks so mucht betta...

The limit is your imagination

That's too bad since opensource developers don't have imagination.

1) Minimalism
2) Microsoft being too lazy to rewrite everything, so you end up with a Win10 Javascript app trying to imitate XP design elements running on top of Win95 code with an extension that's been there since Vista.

wall pls

Windows 10 has the best looking UI since 98. XP was an abortion made slightly better since you could enable classic 98ish style, vista/7 were a mild improvement over the XP crap, and 8 improved some things while butchering others, averaging about the same as previous.

Plenty of things to hate with windows 10, but the UI isn't one of them. (Newfags that grew up with vista/7 and can't let go are excepted.)

If you think that's bad, you should check out an average linux distro, it'll blow your socks off!

Why is today's "minimalism" simpler looking than 1992's design yet uses more resources to draw than the gaudy glass and bling it replaces?

because minimalist autists blame their inadequate technical and design skills on "BLOAT"

I don't care about the UI. My main complaint about W10 is the stupid ass settings "app" and removing the Control Panel.

>subjective

Great. Soon it will take 8 GB RAM usage to fill the entire screen with black, more if it's a complex color like red.

go to run, enter "control", press enter.

dasks?

Half the icons are gone though.

If that's true, i'd try a virus scan.

No they've been removing things from there incrementally. It's all still there on LTSB and such but the latest updates to the regular version force you to use the UWP settings for a lot of shit.

You suck at configuring it. My OS looks fresh as fuck

this

>but the UI isn't one of them
It's shit compared to Win98.

dont forget this

mommy is proud of you

You can make Linux look however you want, but Windows is stuck like that. Sad

It's not ugly, it's utilitarian

Windows 8 is the best looking Windows

8 > 8.1 > 2000 = Me > 95 > 98 > 7 > 10 > XP > Vista

Though Windows 8.1 is the best Windows in general

8 and 10 have a 4GB VRAM allocation limit in DX9. Win7 doesn't have this problem.

>half-transparencies
>fuckhuge gaps

>utilitarian

>it's a black bar at the bottom of your screen and a custom wallpaper.
BOY THEY SURE NAILED THAT DESIGN
kys

because pajeets are so beautiful

but it's not?

you forgot the brightness icon from windows 7
