Linus just works

It does. Update your fucking microcode. Message is clear and you have autism.
what is this even? I never used microcode in my life
>ghenooo/loonix fags will defend this
>git gud lmao
Oops too late
>shitty hardware
>blame linux
Just stay on Win10, it's made for retards like you.
>linus just works
True, Linus Techtips works hard to maintain both the kernel and his YouTube channel.
nobody uses linux
not even the memers on here
Windows and MacOS never have this issue. GNU/Linux needs to handle this automatically. The fact that this hasn’t been abstracted out and automatically resolved for the user already is inexcusable.
>implying software should EVER make unprompted changes to your device
Literally end yourself
If these “changes to your device” are so important that they are the difference between crashing and not crashing, then they should absolutely be made.
>unprompted
So you would prefer the computer to prompt you for everything? Whats a daemon?
>If these “changes to your device” are so important that they are the difference between crashing and not crashing, then they should absolutely be made.
They aren't.
this
BIOS hardware shit senpai
Then what happened to OP? Clearly something got fucked up
He saw an error while booting that should probably be fixed but is not essential.
sorry youre dumb and don't like to learn.
stop projecting Sup Forumstard
Windows does similar shit. Your point?
I do work, fucker!
>It isnt shown as text on a black screen so its fine
Works on my machine.
>[firmware bug]
>system firmware on the device is severely outdated and does not contain the latest microcode
>boot linux distro with old microcode updater blob
this is all your fault moron.
In all fairness that particular window at least gives you some buttons to press. To a normie "update microcode" sounds vague as hell and you wouldn't know what command to enter after that to get back to X or to do what it asks.
We shouldn't encourage people to go back to proprietary software, we should encourage them to learn.
>The absolute state of Sup Forums
>To a normie "update microcode" sounds vague as hell and you wouldn't know what command to enter after that to get back to X or to do what it asks.
The warning in OPs screenshot is only displayed while booting and isn't visible with most normalfag distros
>We shouldn't encourage people to go back to proprietary software, we should encourage them to learn.
No, I prefer not having cancer in my communities. Botnets need slaves and normies are perfect for this
>linus
kek
>muh sekrit club
>I prefer not having cancer in my communities

Not realizing you are the cancer in the Linux community.
I don't mind if my club gets lots of people, but I don't want it to be full of retards. Am I to blame for this? I made my way through linux by myself, people can do it too
this
Disable tpm module in bios
For some reason I always cringed at that guy till I learned of his past.
Pretty crazy though.
>linux works everywhere fine
>its not
>JUST DONT USE YOUR SHITTY HARDWARE THAT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY OUR GODLIKE OS LOOONIX
This. Proper operating systems have descriptive error messages that tell you what to do.
Would you use XP or 7 with Ryzen? There you go.
>7 with Ryzen?
Yes?
Not sure how you found Sup Forums, but just go back to your normal board. You don't belong here, and you never will.
>cannot boot without fixing it
>not essential
Given the same amount of effort in maintenance to have a healthy Linux install, my Win7 'just werks' even better...
>no one ever invented chroot or live CDs
Haswell, same bug, boot process continues without problems. I never update BIOS or ucode.
>using loonix without having an idea how it works
>intlel
top kike
>fatal error that prevents booting
>OS/bootloader doesn't handle the error
It looks like a major oversight. It should just launch a utility that tries to fix the issue.
>buggy shintel microcode
>TSC is burst
>blames Linux
kys
>2018 the year of the Linux desktop
MacOS does have that issue, but Apple only needs to support a selection of hardware.
Look at Hackintosh and how many issues there are.
Windows has this issue as well, and there are 2 paths.
Either it'll update automatically, or your hardware isn't supportet.
Good luck explaining your problem to pic related
With Linux you get 3 options, it werks, it doesn't and you bitch about it on Sup Forums, or it doesn't but you fix it yourself.
Are you literally to retarded to even google it. Being that asshole. He what does this mean. Go fuckng read.
I am in love with Windows
THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF BOARDS.Sup Forums.ORG/G/ IN 2018
This is why the linux marketshare should stay at 2%. Stupid normies like OP would blame the OS instead of himself even when it tells him what to do
You fucking retard. Your BIOS is out of date. Windows doesn't outright tell you when you need to update it, which is why you might not know about it, but you really need to keep on top of that sort of thing regardless.
my laptop says that and it still boots fine
