What is wrong with this shit?
The state of KDE
> the general state of linux
>how can we make the transition from Windows to Linux easier for people
>hey i know
>ADD GRADIENTS TO EVERYTHING
>2001 STYLING NEVER DIES
>oh shit nobody likes it
>okay so how about we make it a SMARTPHONE except its a COMPUTER
>im such a genius
state of loonix
This is what the default currently looks like
6 :4 8 P M
:^)
Anyone else get the feeling that the decline in quality of Linux software is so blatant that there must be some sabotage involved.
Wow. You don't know how to install fonts don't you? Typical retarded scum.
Someone set the user icon to this, it is not default.
As for the missing space, I have no idea who fucked that up, the real clock is also screwed up, there they write 18. 48 instead.
It is such an irrelevant part of my system, I don't even care enough to report the bug.
Bullshit. It's simply a known fact that Freetards can't into design.
>not logging in with getty as God intended
that's what's wrong
Everyone knows KDE has shit defaults
The thing is, you can actually change the settings to get what you want. Unlike GNOME.
Hi Martin. How is wayland going?
it looks like a sad cyclops
You know this isn't KDE, right?
The login screen is a totally different program, you retard
I wouldn't use KDE outside of Neon
Another anti-KDE shill.
Change the theme, retard.
Gnomefags are on the offensive.
K.uck D.esktop E.nvironment
GNOME is way better than KDE
This is comfy
If you are 12 or something.
>Ir doesn't even include a calculator
Into the trash it goes
Looks nice, Marian
It does
If you are not a NEET
Hello, Snowflake
???
You installed it, it doesn't have it by default
>how can we make the transition from Windows to Linux easier for people
nigger I don't care if you switch or not, I would rather have freedom than a system that caters to tech brainlets like you.
That's the distro's job, monumental retard
That's called modularity, Installing things people don't need by default is called bloat.
This. We don't need no stinkin' file picker!
>KDE developers are so out of touch that that don't know a calculator is a basic application for every DE
Spin it like you want, is a retarded desition from retarded people
why has this site gotten so full of beta faggots looking for the most pointless shit to complain about?
To be fair. When you're following the instructions to install KDE on Arch or Gentoo, you are informed that there are two meta packages: typically kde-desktop that only has the essentials for a working DE, and kde-extras for a full KDE-branded suite of software, like calculators and specialized text editors, etc..
I understand the reason for this modularity, and for me, I prefer it because I don't want everything in the kde-extras for example but there are a few I would like to pick and choose individually instead of installing a meta package.
These threads in particular are just Gnomefags in full damage control mode after recent KDE updates making it the most advanced and stable DE. Personally I used Gnome for years and actually hated KDE for how buggy and nonfunctional it was. I remember trying KDE every couple of years and noping the fuck out back to Gnome after like an hour of random crashes and nothing really working. Even up until just a few months ago, KDE on Wayland was a joke. It really felt like alpha stage software for almost a decade. Just yesterday I converted my Gnome laptop to KDE after playing around with it on my desktop for a few months. It's the only DE worth its salt now.
>Not including a calculator is not modularity, is just retarded
Not everyone needs a calculator app on the desktop, retard, and even if you do, you can just install it. If that's too much work for you, go back to Windows.
Only a NEET wouldn't need a calculator
RUINED
sudo apt install kcalc
Only NEETs use Linux anyways so it's a perfect match.
>apt
>They complain about the ability of GNOME to be extended with add-ons
>Hey kid, install the calculator
>Some 3rd party extension written by a random pajeet is the same as a 1st party app that is available to install but not forced on you if you don't need it.
I've had Gnome extensions just fucking break on me after updates.
I figured it's the same retard that always3 complains that Neon doesn't include KCalc by default. On Arch you get KCalc by default if you install the plasma-extra package, and I believe it's aviable by default on OpenSUSE and Kubuntu as well.
Get out, the rest of Linux goes not look as ghey as this..
If that is a genuine KDE login screen then I am leaving KDE alone for ever.
Plain old boring XFCE is all you need.
Riciness and comfiness are a waste of resources
>Some extensions may turn GNOME unstable
>KDE is unstable by default, so unstable they are afraid to include Akanodi and Baloo in their own distro, so unstable they are even afraid to include a calculator
I'll take number one any time
opensuse is kinda bloated so yeah it does include kcalc. I really like it tho and it's my main driver
>phoneposter
disgusting
Nothing wrong with Baloo, it works great. You don't even need Akonadi unless you use Kmail. What is Gnomefags obsession with piling on bloat?
>in their own distro
>calculator
KDE distro. Are you autistic? I mean seriously a real autistic.
>Baloo works great
Fucking KeK
Not an argument
>Fucking KeK
Not an argument
please tell me you're not using arch
Tell me how a calculator is better than a REPL.
I see no issues
>REPL
Someone give this guy the retard award.
beautiful
>doesn't tell me anything
Glad we agree on this.
> a calculator the most basic addon to a PC
> not installed by default on kde
top kek
press alt+space and use krunner as a calculator, mongoloid.
Gnomefags BTFO
>Granny just type rm / -r in Krunner to calculate your taxes, type the password if it needs too
What could go wrong?
This isn't even a desperate Gnomefag anymore, it's just bait.
That's a lie though. Even the basic KDE package on gentoo installs a calculator.
Ain't easier too just include a calculator KDE fag?
How is what the distro packages (bear in mind that KCalc is clearly available) the fault of the KDE team? Get a grip, fuckstain.
KDE Neon doesn't
KDE team maintains Neon you moron
Skype/10
See
> Not everyone needs a calculator app on the desktop
Yeah maybe if your a garbage man
K.ek D.esktop E.nvironment
just use bc, retards
See and leave the thread afterwards.
>Hey guys, why do you need Dolphin, just use bash
>Hey guys why do you need Firefox? Just use curl
Could you post the wallpaper and tell us the name of your theme?
I don't know what you are saying. Just because KCalc isn't a hard dependency of Plasma-Shell the KDE devs failed?
LOL GNOME-CALCULATOR ISN'T A HARD DEPENDENCY OF GNOME-SHELL, LMAO GNOME DEVS DON'T INCLUDE A CALCULATOR IN THEIR DE XDDDDD
KCalc is part of the "Desktop Environment" since it is part of KDE. Some distros may choose not to install it, and they may do that.
For example, in Arch GNOME is split into two "groups," gnome and gnome-extra.
KDE is split into a bunch of different groups, kdebase and plasma having the basics, kdeutils has kcalc and archiving tools, etc.
kde-applications has everything, and there are other groups if you want something more minimalist than all out, but still want tools like kcalc.
It is important to note that this is done by Arch, not KDE.
But it
I hate this soulless generic 'flat' design that's infected everything
hard to see anything when you are sucking fat cocks in a dark alley user
You're not wrong, but the superior calculator experience will always be delivered by a dedicated physical calculator, separate from your computer and its desktop environment.
This not about technical crap, is about common sense, not including a calculator is retarded, plain and simple
Still, not a excuse to not include it
>the current state of the anti-kde shills
Not an argument
This is why there will never be the `Year of the Linux Desktop`. What normie is going to expect to have to go into an App Store to download a calculator.
Ain't ever happening...
>hard to see anything when you are sucking fat cocks in a dark alley user
This sure is a great argument. Thanks for the laugh.
It is, the calculator is there, each distro decides to include it by default or not. krunner can work as a calculator and i prefer speedcrunch anyway.
Neon is a distro maintained by KDE developers, and it doesn't include a calculator, nuff said
>hard to see anything when you are sucking fat cocks in a dark alley user
I think it's an appropriate "argument" to your "argument", but oh well they say when you discuss with an idiot it will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. You clearly has a lot more experience than me so i'll just leave you alone and embarrassed.
But the calculator is there, a few clicks away, and you can use krunner for that too, what is the problem?
Sup Forums are you running out of things to complain about? you're arguing about a fucking calculator!
> Year of the Linux Desktop
> Calculator
kek
Is about common sense kido, even Windows 3.1 had it installed
>This is why there will never be the `Year of the Linux Desktop`.
Wut? was anti-linux shills manipulative passive-aggressive pieces of crap always or this is new? are they microcucks? because at least macfags has a decent OS and they're not constantly being screwed by their software provider like the so called "PC-mustard race".
