>normie brainlet is mad he can't use the best media player

There are a few btw
None are worth using because it's better without though

>what is mpc-qt
>what is baka-mplayer
>what is gnome-mpv
>what are thousands of other guis

>not using Winampv

mpv is a video player
it plays videos
what else do you want?

Develop it yourself, that the point.

answer: shit

MPC HC interface

use mpc-qt

"Can't somebody else do it(TM)!"

are those linux users?

>a gui without any options like hardware acceleration selection or audio options is a gui
No sweetie

There's nothing a gui would do that you can't do right now, what's the point?

>a GUI without a fucking subtitle selection
freetard logic

What do you need a GUI for?

>audio selection
>audio load
>video settings
>subtitle load
>subtitle selection
>screencaps
>proper file info
>rendered selection
>blue-day folder opening and playback
should I go on?

> should I go on?
Don't be that guy
I'm asking because I just drop the video and subtitles and start watching.
So mpv is perfect for me.

>pls don't criticize mpv
lol are you for real?

> GUI
Why would you bloat your player up with bullshit like that?
It serves no purpose at all.

>itt: What is SMplayer?

All of those things just take 1 keypress. Just check the manpage if you don't know one of the default keybinds

Secret club is a good thing. By not pandering to retards the software is better.

what are you? some kind of retard?

mappsnews.blogspot.com/2013/03/smplayer-084-media-player-released-adds.html

>2013
yep you're retarded

Just use vlc

>he murdered an innocent child in 1980, he is better now

Don't bother user, trying to reason with mpv fags is like trying to have a civil discussion on Sup Forums during the elections. You're wasting your time on obvious shills. Just report and hide their shitty advertising threads and move on.

>>audio selection

wat

ooooh ic, op is using windows

>audio selection
mpv.io/manual/master/
Or $ man mpv
#
Cycle through the available audio tracks.
>audio load
--audio-files=
Play audio from an external file while viewing a video.
>subtitle load
--sub-auto=, --no-sub-auto

Load additional subtitle files matching the video filename. The parameter specifies how external subtitle files are matched. exact is enabled by default.
>subtitle selection
j and J
Cycle through the available subtitles.
>screencaps
s
Take a screenshot.
S
Take a screenshot, without subtitles. (Whether this works depends on VO driver support.)
Ctrl s
Take a screenshot, as the window shows it (with subtitles, OSD, and scaled video).
>proper file info
Use Mediainfo.

In essence, you're a retard, too stupid to take 5 minutes to familiarize yourself with mpv's interactive keybindings, and too stupid to Ctrl+f the manual for its multitude of configurable option that allow you to control it however you want.

Which is an apt comparison, because just like the Sup Forums shills won and Trump is in power, the MPV fraction will win, too.

Did you read the link you posted?

There is IINA for macOS. It's good, I use it instead of vanilla mpv sometimes.

No, they're FreeBSD+GNOME users

i can't imagine using an OS so bad that it doesn't ship with a nice movie player like win 10. native MKV support alone is a reason to not bother with 7. ill take 2 minutes of adjusting privacy settings over having to install a bunch of extra shit just to play MKVs and FLACs any day

>Using windows native movie player
I bet you use edge too. And barely use any features in either program.

I only use edge for PDFs. Another "just werx" out of the box thing you have to put in effort to do with most linux distros

>uses a browser for pdfs
>doesnt know all the good browser have been capable of this for years
Yea, I'm sure your opinion is really valuable on what software to use.

>going through the effort of changing defaults for something this basic
when i was younger i was like that but in the end it's not worth it for such fuckery. likely because i had a lot more free time. if it works just use it.

>native MKV support alone is a reason to not bother with 7.
meanwhile everyone else installed a media player that could play mkv's on win7 10 years ago

smplayer which is gui for mpv supports all those

smplayer

The default MPV GUI has subtitle selection. And you can always drag and drop.

even though somebody else has done it

It has a play button, a pause button, a subtitle switcher, and an audio track switcher.

Literally what the FUCK else do you want?

>his life revolves around other people's media player choices

This, mpv HAS a gui, there is no need to change other settings everytime you want to watch a video.

>there is no need to change other settings
Sure there is, and you can in mpv by setting keybinds in input.conf to change different settings during playback.

Its worth mentioning mpv has default kebinds already that you dont need to set up but input.conf lets you customize it and lets you do things other players can't.
