"What is that to us?"
"That is your problem."

Lmao fucking why

Buddy was selling it on a whim and he matched the majority of eBay prices for the same model. I know he takes care of his shit so I trusted it wasn't laying in a pile of cheeto dust. I have two Debian machines, two Win10 machines, and a win7 HTPC. I don't have anything with macOS and just wanted to add something that runs it to my collection.

They're good machines, just need an SSD and ram upgrade. Sup Forums is pretty much Sup Forums now so I wouldn't listen to their opinions on anything.

I'm not even memeing $500 seems like a fucking ripoff

500$ is a fuckton of money for 7 year old hardware, but if you just want to use it to fuck around with macOS a bit then its ok I guess.

I mean, it did come with 8GB DDR3 instead of 4GB, soooooooo......

why not just get a T420, swap the wlan card and have a nice os x thinkpad though

500 seems too much.
I literally see working A1278 models get recycled and they're from 2008.

now you're ready for facebook at starbucks

That's actually a very bad deal. For a 15" model with 1680x1050 display this price would have been okay, but that's way too much.

Not too long ago I was looking at a 2012 non-Retina 13" model for $400

>os x thinkpad

>buying a product with planned obsolescence
>buying a pre-owned one on top of that so the life span is already cut in half

Epic, have fun repairing it.. Oh wait

The pre-retina ones are repairable. Standard socketed RAM, 2.5" and 5.25" SATA bays, unglued unsoldered battery, all accessible from removing several screws and popping off the bottom panel.

Price to performance, you probably got reemed a hard one user. But if you're a collector and it's what you want, then I hope you enjoy your new piece.

>"""""""""""""friend""""""""" doesn't even give you a discount
>matches """"""""""ebay prices"""""""""""
>not even factoring in ebay fees and shipping
Only thing funnier than Apple scamming brainlet morons with chinkshit foxconn trash is brainlet morons scamming each other.

Yes, you'll probably never need to, even after 5 years.

You're a fucking retard. 7 year old laptop for the price of almost a new laptop right now.

Give it back, Jamal

>didn't get the godtier non-retina 2012 model
you fucked up pretty bad friend

>using high sierra
You're doing it wrong

Upgrade to an SSD and 8 GB of RAM and you'll be fine.

Badly. Could have gotten a ThinkPad for that price.

This. I recently upgraded from a 13" 2011 MBP (16gb/1tb ssd) to a 15" 2015 MBP (same). The ONLY thing that pushed me to upgrade was that I started doing a lot of work in VS 2017 Xamarin on Win10 via Parallels. VS 2017 is a dog and Xamarin makes it run even slower. Otherwise that 7yo machine was still fast and a joy to use as a daily.

Max the RAM and drop in a fast SSD and enjoy macOS.

I wouldn't buy any used Apple products that are over 1 year old... they aren't reliable. Apple purposely makes them ticking time bombs.

U did ok

I sell and flip computer shit on ebay as a side job.

You're a fucking idiot for paying that much on a local transaction

lol

Really fucking bad, just bought an Elitebook 8470p for 180 USD refurbished with a 320GB 7200RPM HDD, 4GB of RAM and Intel i5 3rd gen with Intel HD 4000

For less than half of what you paid I got a better laptop.
