It has telemetry and isn't modular. Avoid it at all cost.

>soon
There's plenty of time left until October 2021.

If you faggots are so worried about muh alphabet agencies, then why even use Windows? That's cognitive dissonance at its peak

It's more doublethink than cognitive dissonance.

Because 10 is a buggy mess, besides being a botnet.

I said
>why even use Windows?

What's the difference between the dvd and dvd_u versions?

Many programs and drivers for hardware are non existent on Linux. So I have to use Windows. And instead of using the buggy mess that is 10, I use 7.

Get these. They are the second release of SP1 ISOs. The first one was buggy and could result in machines failing to boot properly.

Attached: dr.png (1600x1120, 161K)

For what specifically? I haven't had any issues in a long time.

Full disclosure, I dual boot for muh vidya

Literally no reason to use 7 over 8.1.

Thanks Femanon

> Metro shit.

Try again.

Pretty typical of "linux and driver support for linux" is nonexistant shills. Make that hollow argument and then have nothing to back it up.

Is it possible to install 7 on the new Ryzen APUs/latest BIOS versions supporting them yet? I managed to get the installer running after creating an ISO using that windows 7 image updater tool from My Digital Life, but when it reached the point where it has to restart to finish installing I think Windows got itself stuck in a boot loop or something. I can't remember.

>/w7g/
BASED

There a lot of users with Ryzen setups. IDK the methods they used...

Well, I barely managed to get my phone drivers (Xiaomi Mi A1) for Windows. I haven't seen them for Linux.

is there a windows 7 rice guide

Will it be compatible with the new intel gen? I want to buy a new laptop but at the same time don't want my cpu to still be affected by meltdown and spectre, because of the performance drops with software patches.

nanami-tan.info

When I was installing 7 for some buddies running Ryzen (1600 and 1600X) I got the installer to work just fine from I think just injecting USB 3.0 drivers. It's strange I'm running into these issues.

thank

W7 and ryzen is a hit and miss thing. On my machine I can install it perfectly fine (asrock has a tool for injecting the drivers), but it starts to bluescreen once I use something with gpu acceleration. Seems to be an issue with the chipset drivers. I'm using the asrock a320m board, you might have more success with another board.

Attached: 1503559305410.png (538x442, 138K)

Guess I'm just shit out of luck then, or at least for now. I'm using a B350 Tomahawk and tried all sorts of methods, and the furthest I ever got was when I used the image updater.

Don't even give him any replies.

Phone drivers? Like, for ADB or just plugging in your phone to move files over?

>No USB 3.0
Are you retarded?

Yes, ADB, so I can clean flash it via PC. OTA is crap.

Woah you miss out on the 10 games that use it what a shame

I would use windows 2000 if i could but I cant, so windows 7 it is

Linux doesn't need phone drivers.
You edit an .ini file to include the device ID (if it isn't already present, which it usually is) and go about your day after adb restart

I've been on the edge to returning to win7 but some things have been holding me back. How safe is daz loader? How do you keep win7 safe from telemetry when you only have monthly rollups? Is there a way to not use them?

Simply don't update and you'll be fine.

I somehow doubt

MS' notes say the new release contains a fix for when you try to use only numbers or unsupported characters in the PC's hostname while being on certain non-US locales.

It doesn't say anything about not being able to boot. Unless I'm blind.

>Thinking any version of Windows is botnet safe
linux is not botnet safe either

if only Sup Forums stopped cons-- I mean OS-wars for a hot second to realize how privacy has gotten absolutely fucked but guess not

I use Windows 7 fully aware of privacy concerns, I just prefer it over other versions of Windows because I find it's the most comfortable to use.

It would break the boot if you'd use that iso to update a non-sp1 installation with one of those names.

Did you try installing it using another PC, then putting your HDD/SSD back in? I'm not even joking.

Add this to the next thread: nanami-tan.info/

Great source of information about customizing Windows 7.

I haven't tried that yet but I'll definitely give it a go sometime.

I actually don't mind 10. Comes with barely any shit installed and it can just be removed anyway. Biggest problem is that they fucking refuse to unify everything. I would go back to 7 but the hardware detection in 10 is just too damn good. Shit just werks.

Everytime I try to install it on ryzen i get stuck at "starting windows" while trying to install. I've added the usb drivers with gigabyte and msi tools and both didn't worked.

>tfw stuck on Windows 10 because my gf wants to play Sea of Thieves

I just want to go back to Windows 7 and be comfy with my aero themes.

Anyone here ever bought a Win 7 product key from eBay?

Did it work?

Just put Windows 7 in a VM to handle my back to school stuff for the fall and was reminded of how riceable it was compared to Windows 10. Won't switch back for my main rig but it did bring some fond memories.

Why aren't people making as many themes for Windows 10?

>Classic Shell
Fixed

Updates break themes and no point in making themes if new updates in a few months breaks them, unless they make them for the LTSB versions, which have very little market share for obvious reasons

This

I miss the days when people used WindowBlinds...

This is a very stupid question , but is there any difference when it comes to programming in 7 , and 10?

Only for MSVS: UWP is NOT supported on 7, obviously. Other than that, everything else is the same

>8.1
Where can I get the latest ISO, and can it be debloated like 7? W10 sucks on 4GB ram

>aero themes

Classic theme or go home you fucking idiot.

Is there a Mac OS theme or a way to make it look as close as possible?

>not having separate pc's

my MB is dying.
If I get new PC right now (Ryzen, Coffee shit), will there be drivers for win7?

>nu-nu-Sup Forums

kys niggershit

Yes. I forget how the heck I made it work but just google it and look for an eye on some random asus forum that will modify the copy of windows to install the right drivers

Include the Spybot M$ telemetry blocker and wsus next time

any guides to made to use the less ram possible?

Well windows is a botnet since 7 so it's the same
But it's the same os, it's still windows.

windows 7 was made before microshit changed their business model to google-style private data harvesting

Wait, does 7 have a solution for spectre/meltdown or can only my BIOS fix this?

which one is the best activator?

DAZ for MBR partition table, Microsoft Toolkit for GPT partition table, Pro & Enterprise only.

>does 7 have a solution for spectre/meltdown
Yes, MS released fixes for 7, 8 and 10.

I don't understand, can you lay it out for me in simpleton terms please

>doing what your bitch wants

cuck

Sweet.

DAZ loader works on all versions of Windows 7 if your using the MBR partition table. When you partition a drive the partition table gets created first then the file system. If you want to UEFI boot you need to use the GPT partition table, DAZ loader do not support GPT because GPT can't be marked as, active. Microsoft Toolkit only supports GPT for Windows 7 pro and Enterprise because both have a volume licensing scheme.

>DAZ loader works on all versions of Windows 7 if your using the MBR partition table
Only on Home, Pro, Ultimate and Server2008R2. Won't work on Enterprise.

I didn't know that...

Nice meme but this locker shows up before Windows logo.

Has anyone checked the safety of daz loader?

I've been using it for years with no problem at all. Just make sure you get the real one.

Unless you play Gears of Forza (which have no mod support anyway so there's no point playing them on PC) then DirectX 12 is nothing.
