What are some decent choices I could make to upgrade my gpu?

Good goy

Used high end 28nm stuff. Way too power hungry for efficient mining, so prices are lower. 980, 980 Ti, 390, 390X, Fury, Fury X

GTX 970

got my 970 2 years back and performs great on current vidya

OC it. It can help a bit.

A used GTX 970 might be your best option. The 970 is shitty, but its much better than yours, the R9 prices have driven even more insane.

Maybe a GTX 780 if you have the PSU, but the drivers for 900 series are better. Don't even bother 1000 series or RX.

why is the 1000 series not a good idea?

you can do around 1200-1300 on gpu and 1900 on memory depending on the chip
my 780 ti did 1306 mhz on the chip, but it was HOT, even with aio and the memory was faulty so i had to underclock it

Because its not affordable. 1060 6 GB cost around 350-400 €. Even a shitty lowend 1050 costs 200 here. I've seen, dollar prices are higher. Buy the 970, it has similar performance than a 1060.

Otherwise, consider a 980 Ti if you have the budget, 60 - 80 % more performance than a 1060, 6 GB, OC Monster.

Overpriced as fuck.

what's your advice on the manufacturers of the gpu?

EVGA if warranty
Search for the serial

Otherwise ust get a decent custom design, ASUS, MSI, Inno3d
Avoid blowers unless they are dirt cheap

>3GB
I'm sorry for your loss

over here in the UK the GPU prices have been falling this month , you can get 1060 3g for £240

the 980ti looks a lot more expensive than some of the 1000 series. Is it really that much better?

the 6gb verson is a meme , this is a 1080p card , you won't be pushing past 3GB.

i have the 980 ti , its comparable to the 1070 , they trade blows.

I appreciate the help, my last question is what sites do you use to monitor gpu pricing? or do you just google

Something like a GTX 960 should be dirt cheap and way better than what you have.

Can run witcher 3

A 980 is going to be comparable to a 1070 in the same way that a 970 is going to be comparable to a 1060 and so on.

what's the cheapest option with 4gb? upgrading from a 750Ti.

europoor btw, poortugal

I was rolling with a GTX 780 until I replaced it 3 days ago. It was hot and used a lot of power, but it was very capable at 1080p. You can get a used one quite cheap now.
