No, true, i might take a renault over them, but my point stands that its stupid to recommend any eurotrash to someone for their first shitbox they'll be repairing.
Not to mention repairing euro cars you're likely to require more custom tools than a jap/korean/us/whatever brand, and they generally have more points of failure that a beginner doesnt want to deal with, such as complex electronics.

Japs and korean shitboxes are easy to work on, as well, as on Renault and partially VW/Skoda. Peugeot/Citroen is nightmare to work on, because it has impossible number on torxes and engine bay is aweful.
