This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
I cannot believe Seiko is expanding the red stripes on the crown. I thought the windyknob thing was a joke about one single watch, but now it's a feature across their line.
A lot of people hate windyknob guy and he's been banned a fuckton of times for meming that thing, but you have to admit he was ahead of the fashion curve
knowing about the Casio meme watch for years, I saw they actually had it at walmart this evening, and with it right in front of me I couldn't help myself
I saw someone on youtube put an NFC chip in theirs, that might be a cool thing to do......
Also, I'm glad Breitling will put some brushed finishes on the Navitimers. The all shiny cases looked so shitty.

Gen 2 of it might be better. They have shifted almost all their chronographs to their in house movement so a fair guess would be they are working on the rest.
Nathan Brown
Here is my fave steel watch atm. Love it but I think it needs a different strap
Well one important factor for me (wristlet) is size. There's also something to be said about having the same movement in the smallest possible space imo. Feels like nothing is wasted in how it was engineered - a real tool watch.

Last time I posted this there were so many jealous faggots.
904l stainless does scratch easier than 316l, it's softer. but it's shinier, and stays shinier longer. also as you know it does better against the elements.
Where's the best place to buy seiko in Tokyo? Bic camera seems to have some okay prices, but are there better places to find deals? I really want a presage
>"you can get these for a great price used" >"there's a huge second hand market for these" >"always check to see if there are any good catches for sale" >"I got this one for only $120 as new" >"user just buy used" FUCK OFF THERE'S NOTHING IN AUSTRALIA NOTHING!!! JUST 3 CUNTS SELLING THEIR $200 SPORTS WATCHES FOR $500 ON GUMTREE BECAUSE THE BOUTIQUE SOLD IT TO THEM FOR $800 THE FUCKWITS AAAAAAAHHHHHH
I bought a seiko presage automatic in Mitsukoshi department store in the Ginza, Tokyo. I would definitely recommend having a look there

That'll learn you for being a island.

>f91w and rolex So the isis finally sent you some shekels
Anthony Lewis
Thanks user I'll check it out
Jackson Lee
Wow, is this a mod or a new SE model?
Lucas Davis
I'm depressed enough knowing you're my age with luxury watchers. Thanks.
Christian Williams
I know them feels. The only bargains I get come from my 10 different saved searches on eBay, and it's only bargains for slavshit. Even F91Ws cost far more than they're worth. I'd love to get good prices on Seikos but it seems everywhere online is Indian frankens or unrealistic prices (A$150 for a vintage seiko 5 with blurry photos)

If it makes you happier, I live in a 200sq ft apartment in the worst part of town, so I have a ton of cash left for stuff like this
Jayden Morris
Do you seriously wear that in public? Might as well wear some clown shoes and a nazi badge, since you are German. Hehe.
Michael Rodriguez
Well, it does a bit I guess? So do I.
Samuel Phillips
39mm new Tudor yes finally
Ayden Jackson
Why is there so much slack on the bracelet?
Brandon Gutierrez
I like to wear it a bit loose I should propably remove one of the links soon though. (You)
Jason Bennett
Anyone own one of these? Is it worth getting one? I'm torn between this or a cheaper orient
The more I look at it, the less I like it. The case and crown look cheap. The dial looks silly. The hands are pretty bad. And that date is revolting. And it's 41mm and $4800. The only nice part about it is the curved dial.
Dylan Watson
Is this real?

> Misaligned hour hand on left one How do marketing pictures happen like this?
Evan Jones
Even Hodinkee, who never says anything bad about a watch, panned it in their article. Wew lad indeed.
Samuel Reed
shoop
Joseph Gutierrez
Haha wow, I don't think I've ever seen anything that because from hodinkee before.
Blake Wilson
thoughts on seagull? kinda want a panda for my next watch.
That's the best iteration of the Black Bay since the original ETA. I'm waiting for more information on the movement - it needs to have a quick-set local time and not GMT for it to be any good, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't the case. The BB 58 isn't too bad, but it needs to be available in more colorways.
Jesus that looks good. They basically cribbed the vintage five number GMT for the design, which means it looks MILES better than the current maxicase abomination.
Carter Martinez
what about the 1963 remakes?
Christian Anderson
I haven't personally seen any rendition in meatspace yet, but I have heard people are happy with them.
Michael Adams
I kinda figured Tudor would be putting out a GMT.
I just wish they used the Pelagos styling as the base, and did something a little more "different" than just copying the Rolex GMT.
Hudson Gomez
BIG fan how to get one of the custom builds?
Dominic Gutierrez
Yeah I would have preferred a Pelagos GMT too. I prefer square indices with snowflake hands, and you have three of those on this watch. But still, it's pretty nice. I'm also not a fan of the date with that styling, but of course for a GMT it would be weird not to have one. I wonder if they could have implemented it better.
Carter Hall
The only people who buy that simply can't afford the real thing.
