Not sure. It's definately not as customizable as xfce, and I keep the taskbar hidden when not in use, so I cope.

Eh... I'm not really sure. I just get my extensions/addons from gnu, or prism-break, and they usually have a link to older versions.

Never did for me but then again, I always unplug the Ethernet on the last startup just before you are asked to make a user. That way it won't bother you ever again since you already made the account fully local.

You're using an old build of 10, and it has to be phased out slowly or everyone will bitch and moan that the control panel is suddenly gone, features taking a long time to go from 'deprecated' to 'removed' is SOP for Windows, it can take decades. In the latest builds of 10 you can do everything from the new settings panel just fine.

Bloatware is a non-argument that's entirely down to the individual's definition of what constitutes bloat, and at most it seems to come with Candy Crush/Minecraft shortcuts (the games are not actually installed, they are shortcuts to install it) and I never had either of them anyway so I don't know.

Installed it yesterday on a new build (previously had win7). It's the only option because I need adobe and autodesk software for work (inb4 ios). I was pretty grumpy at having to toggle off like 50 data-sharing settings, but after I removed all the ads it seems to look ok. Basically looks like how I had 7. just with a slightly different skin.

He's an idiot, start is actually very useful, I keep the apps I use most there and a few shortcuts to batch command I made for specific functions I need (like different power profiles and controls on the GPU), and having there the live tiles for forecast and calendar is nice. Then if I need a specific app I just press start, type the name of the app I need and press enter, takes less than a second

That looks extremely fake to me. I've never seen an ad in Windows 10, other than suggestions for apps I might like, such as Minecraft and Spotify, and that was an easy option to turn off.
