Molly is definitely an underrated qt but this is one of the rare cases where I genuinely like the band more than the qt. I really need more Alvvays in my life.

I usually try to separate my attraction to musicians from how I feel about their music but I can't say I don't feel like I'm more willing to give the musician a chance if she's cute. I know I'm shallow for that, but fuck it.

Honestly though, does anyone know when the band is putting out anything new? Is there anything other than the s/t? People have rec'd Camera Obscura to me as something similar but I really can't say I hear too many similarities.

i'm used to separating people from the music with my other favorite bands....smashing pumpkins (corgan is a jackass), my vitriol (som hasn't put out a record in 3000 years), rhcp (kiedis), etc... and with alvvays it's just positivity and love and happiness which is really refreshing. don't even care if it's shallow

I think they've been recording the new album sporadically while on tour. They have 4-5 new songs they're regularly playing live. really hope it comes out soon. they said in this interview that it should be done a year from then, ie about right now

If you're talking about the name, no, their name was originally named Always but there was another band on their label named Always so they just said fuck it and went with Alvvays. CHVRCHES just chose CHVRCHES for more hits on Google.

Yeah. Some of it is pretty fun jangly summer music. And the slower songs have some nice feels.

Them being called Alvvays is really nice for searches and stuff though. You know it's 100% relevant when you type their name into youtube versus if it was just called Always

Yeah, but I was just trying to make the point that it wasn't 100% intentional, things just happened to play out that way whereas with CHVRCHES their name is an intentional marketing ploy. Not that I dislike CHVRCHES or anything, I think their debut is at it's lowest points mediocre and at it's highest amazing.
