He was decades ahead of his time.

he created meme rap

(Yooou)

>madvilliany 4 years earlier

i would laugh bu this actually kinda true

Yeah, music wasn't supposed to get that bad until the 2010s-2020s

>le wrong generation bait
not even once

>le shitty music is actually good

>was

He just released a new album like yesterday user.

Yes. And i'm not even memeing. He created the swag rapper style that was going to be big 6 years latter

this thread
>WAAAHH I WAS BORN IN LE WRONG GENERATION

cool hat kiddo

He was the first rapper to really take advantage of the Internet to push his music.

Dude blew up through Myspace.

Even when he was already famous, he was using the Internet to find out what style was popping underground, and then making music with that style and being the first to bring it to the mainstream.

See Zan With That Lean, etc. Soulja was the first big name to do that shit and Chief Keef pretty based his entire career off of that style of song.

yes, he was almost a decade ahead of his time and is one of the most influential rappers last decade. he's like the John Cale of rap

but it doesnt mean he's good tho

Damn i didnt know Soulja was this important

He's not bad. His most recent mixtape Better Latter Than Never is alright

Whenever people talk about the current trap/drill trend being the worst time in hip hop ever, being hip hop wrong generationers, I just remind them of these horrific pieces of shit

The mid-2000's was a fucking abysmal time for rap music

id take mid 2000s pop rap over 2016 pop trap rap

ROB THE JEWELLERY STORE TELL EM MAKE ME A GRILL

But yea the early 2000's is probably hip-hop's worst era

he was the first artist to get famous entirely through the internet
literally the first meme artist

What are you talking about, the late 90's-early 00's was the best era of hiphop.

1989-1997 was the zenith. Things started going south in about '98

Honestly current trap/drill scene is the best time to be alive right now for Hip-Hop. This generation was far better than anything scene from the 70s-00s. I always like to remind le wrong generation fedoras that nothing can really match the production of todays rap scene, whether you're into trap or your into underground or your into stuff like Kendrick. I personally just happen to like trap with rappers like Young Thug

It's cool but they all sound the same.

This new wave of niggas is exactly the same.

Uzi, Rich The Kid, Famous Dex, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, etc. They're all the same.

Worst trend in hip-hop was the jerking shit in like 08/09.

That shit was bad.
