We're finishing up an EP that could come out late in the year, pretty different stuff compared to Eye Contact. 5 songs, Nik is not on the album. He's still basically a member of the band though, he's in our current live lineup. The lineup of the band is loose though, could see a totally new lineup by the end of the year.

Check out Little Kid, turtlenecked, joplin rice, epyllia, jr adleberg, little tents, clothes, cobwebes, and everything else on Petal Port Music (the label I'm on).

NEW FOLIAGE FINALLY

hes back
soundcloud.com/foliagemusic/selfish-1

I dig your songwriting style, it could use some distinction but it provides a nice atmosphere without doing a ton. simple & sweet. "I'm Not Scared Anymore" is my fav tied with "The Corner."

not really my thing but it's impressive for what it is. "Horizons" is the best track imo.

definitely not my thing, the production needs work & the songwriting is stale ... songs could work with a different approach, something a little less predictable.

neat stuff ! into the guitar work especially, vocals definitely nail the vibe. feels like it's missing something but at the same time i can see how that contributes to the overall sound.

jealous of your production ! songwriting's nice too, hard to think of what there is to improve on. good job !

.... the viral continues ...

those midi drums yo... get some east west up in that bitch

well yeah im a fan

mix needs some work to be honest id even be willing to do a basic mix if ud like

This is very interesting. About half-way through the album and enjoying it a lot so far. The glitches sound extremely 'natural' in a way. I like it when glitchy music sounds like it is actually glitching out instead of sounding like somebody made it glitch out.

Really appreciate any feedback, kinda new to production, still learning (by doing)

Interesting stuff, some sounds remind me of "Songs about my Cats" from Venetian Snares for some reason.

"Bedroom pop" probably doesn't get better. Lo-fi but still sounding good while maintaining the aesthetic. Downloading

That's really some high quality stuff. I really enjoyed Glass. Influenced by OK Computer?

Not really into this kind of stuff, but it probably sounds good for what it is.

The mixing could be improved (especially unsure about the panning), really like the drums and guitars.

Always liked your stuff, good quality post-rock.

Will listen to the other stuff in the thread and comment later :)

Just starting this but sounds good so far man! What software did you use?

MOON UNIT CDs AVAILABLE NOW!!!

I'm in a creative crisis. How do you guys usually start to make a song? Drum beat first? Melody first? Chord progression first? I need to find a good order to start making something. My old way was to just do random parts from each but it's just not working anymore.

Thanks! Other than creating certain sounds/noises in audacity it was mostly made with cubase.

For me I always start with a chord progression on guitar and build from there. I think starting with drums is a bad idea.

I just really like plants.
I'm still working on a new album. We'll see how it turns out. I'm hoping to do two new releases before 2016 is out.

I'm pretty sure I've checked you before but I really dig the new track. Good balance of dark sounding harshness and smoother natural sounds. It almost sounds like black metal. I get the sense that you'd be a cool dude I would chill with.

You've actually got some impressive production value on this. I like how it walks the line of being weird enough to be weird but not annoyingly/inaccessible weird.

I downloaded this last night. You're awesome man. Love it.

rec

I'll lurk some more itt.

I really appreciate the music you're making dude. These threads need more metal like this. Hope you're not depressed irl.

This is underrated material. I love simple folk music. You're doing great, man. Keep up the good work.

This is also pretty underrated. I like you're stuff, I was checking you last night. Your music is nice and varied which is always good for ambient because a lot of times ambient music can get boring and samey. Cool stuff my man.

This is some good material man, trips confirm.

Holy smoke this is great. This has been out since 2014 and I didn't know? Awesome work. Love the vocals especially.

RECS:
I love how much really good stuff is coming out of /bcg/ lately

pcth.bandcamp.com

>shoegazing, psych

listening through some of this, and it's pretty good so far. very effective lo-fi atmosphere. fuckin love the chords on What You Know. keep it up dude(s)

Really nice and gentle. Loved the melodica part on track 3, and overall was a fan of the subtle touches you add to give what would otherwise be plain and straightforward music into heartfelt tunes with depth. recd for sure

Too noisy for my taste, hard to make out much other than distortion and a beat. Vocals seemed out of place. The more ambient sounds I'm hearing on the record are kinda nice though, I would listen to more of the softer stuff (Interlude #1, Solar Eclipse). also didn't mind See Through Glass, got some interesting DG-esque vibes. but overall I feel like a lot of this is pretty messy but could be honed into nice stuff

Pleasant, but I don't think theres much going on that would bring me back to it. Productions nice and clean and the guitar work is good

This is pretty interesting. I almost expected John Mayer to start singing. I like the percussion and the muffled sound of everything, its a cool form of lofi I haven't heard before. I wouldve loved this track with a cello and some vocal harmonies

I feel like this is a log of your ideas rather than fully developed songs (not that that's necessarily a bad or objectively true thing) and it's really not speaking out to me.

Some really nice sounds in here. Creepy but beautiful, a word that comes to mind is "Anglerfish". How much of this is sampled and how much of this is synthesized? I'm a big fan of the melodic synth on track 2

Nice ambience, with lots of density in the sound. It's a bit low frequency oriented, in a way though
I like it, very noisy with melodies mixed in and the tracks are diverse as well.
More normal than the others I had replied to, but this is good. It is full of melodies, which suits all of the tracks in different ways. Unique in it's own ways

My friends make music the self proclaimed "Camp Counselor Angst" genre. It's basically just indie/punk, they're weird, but this really is some good shit so check it.

I dig it, I don't wanna use the pleasant because that sounds insulting, but I really dig it and it's easy listening
Synth is definitely cool, all I got
I'm about it, definitely sounds very traditionally indie to me but maybe my parameters are weird or something
Just listen pls. This is very good stuff.
