Midwest Pen Pals - Inside Jokes
>so goes my life, weekends at home
>long-distance friendships 'cause the close ones blow

>when the bass comes in on Airbag

Oh

>"close your eyes and see, when there ain't no light..."

The end of "Kino" made me realize that this album was special

this is the most underrated album of all time god damn

Alvin Row
>RUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN

>that filthy blown out solo in Ruins that sounds like space collapsing while interlocking contrapuntal systems between piano, drums, and bass take place

The Powers That B - Pss Pss

>when the first "Heroes and Villains" riff gets played by harpsichord feat. chanting in "Do You Like Worms"

The piano on Spectral Bride

Glowing Man's eponymous tune

holy fuck

The end of Dead Finks Don't Talk into Some Of Them Are Old
I REMEMBER THE DAY I WALKED AWAY FROM THIS EMPTY FLIGHT

How the hell does one moment make an entire album a 10???

>MY FRIEND WILLIAM CAME TO ME WITH A MESSAGE OF HOPE
>IT WENT 'FUCK YOU AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW'

or maybe

>seatbelts are for people who have time to die
>SHIT I DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO SLEEP

A Little God in My Hands.
>THE UNIVERSAL MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND

"have a sad cum beh beh eh eh eh"

I AM BORN AGAAAAA-AAAIIIIINNNNN

Its not that, its that the whole time you were listening to an album you thought it was great, then, you heard this moment and you were like "Holy shit, this is fucking amazing" and it transcended past great to being your favourite.

The tempo change halfway through No One Loves Me & Neither Do I where Every single instrument just explodes into it at the same time... and that's just the first track.

AND I'M BACK TO SAVE THE UHHHHNIVERSSEEE

>But the moon she rises
>and the moon she falls

The slowly mounting feels in this album really hit a peak in A Certain Romance, probably at
>"Cuz over there there's broken bones, there's only music so that there's new ringtones... and it don't take no sherlock holmes, to see it's a little different around here..." and from then on.

>I... Never lie

>To myself
>Tonight

it was only after a couple of listens that I realized why there were pauses

forgot image

chvrches's Keep you on my side

especially when it gets to the breakdown

>OH MY MAAAAPPPS
>TO DISTANT FOOTHILLS RISE

NOW THAT YOU FIND, NOW THAT YOUR HOOOOOOOOME... SEASONS WILL PASS YOU BY, I GET UUUUUUUUUPPPP

Satan confirmed shit taste

according to nietzche it is satan who is in tune with real desires

lavren is the real desire

I don't think the album is 10/10 but on Days of Candy when halfway through all the synths and guitar pick up.

>Just like that, it's gone.

I was feeling iffy about it until the moment The Queen in my Pictures transitioned to Doggy. And it's spot as my favorite AnCo album was solidified by the line

>bluuueeee heron
>goodbye...goodbye

Came here to say this.

Map blew my fuckin mind when I first heard it.

>Girl, this rap shit left me worse for wear
>And I ain't got that perfect hair
>my love feels like a cervix tear

>that moment in the middle of Design : 2 : 3 where the song goes ERROR 0xEJK89AK29 and transitions into the gorgeous female vocal to end the album

>BOY WE COULD DO MUCH MORE TOGETHER

After the first noisy bit of Cuckoo Cuckoo and the piano riff keeps playing

It scared me first time I heard it, like god and his wrath had appeared before me

Why is this album so good? I thought QOTSA were stadium rock for normies and bellends that read Kerrang

The first chorus of Idioteque

oops

THE UNIVERSE IS RIDING OFF WITH YOU
breakdown baby

I GET DOOOOOWWWWN

WHAT DO YOUUU WHAT DO YOUUU WHAT DO YOUUU WHAT DO YOUUU
SEE WHEN YOUUU SEE WHEN YOUUU SEE WHEN YOUUU SEE WHEN YOUUU
SEE INSIIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE OF ME IIIDE

>driving on empty highway at 2:00a
>suddenly Pyramids

I'm and yeah, Cuckoo Cuckoo or some part of Safer are the finest moments. Derek is still overwhelming.

Not my favorite album, but that tempo change in Numb Yourself.

>I'VE PLACED THE BOARDS ACROSS YOUR WINDOWS
>I'VE NAILED YOUR HANDS SO YOU CAN KISS THE FLOOR

>SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

>YOUR NAME IS FUCK

>SEEN A LIGHTSKIN NIGGA WITH HIS BRAINS BLOWN OUT

fucking intense. The album really hooked my attention when the beat changed on The Art of Peer Pressure, but this was when I realized it was my favorite.

It took you almost all the album to realize it's a 10?

The Organ

Yeah, m.A.A.d City is the best on the album, and the beat change up is a straight 10/10, then 3 killer verses

>i'm a government man
>AAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL IIIII WAAAAAAANT IS TO BREAAAAAAAAAAAATHE
>thank you, thank you

For me it was the very beginning

>take a look at these hands...TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS

>I MISS YOU
>I MISS YOU
>OHHH I MISS YOUU
>I MISS YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGH

like walking through an empty house
speaking to an imaginary audience
and being watched from outside by
someone without a key

Don left
and drove
and howled
and laughed
at himself

He thought he knew what that was.

Deluge

All 10/10

When the guitar kicks in at the 37 second mark.

>I went back and wished I hadn't
>I went back and felt regret

Pussy Control

>NEVER WANNA TRY AGAAAAAAAAIIIIIIN

But Spectral Bride is one of the worst tracks m8

AND I DON'T CARE IF MY LIVER DIES

>iiiif i could just leave my body for the nightBAHCBAHCLAHLCBABLJKHCSADCBADBCBHACBAHBCHAIKHASBDHKBJKSDUIUKALSERUH

i will see you
in the next life

>"By the last breath of the four winds that blow, I'll have revenge upon Fortunato."

>when the bass comes in on Little Fury Things

>and the meteorite is the source of the light...
it made me cry and i have no shame

>"i started to gloooow"
>distorted guitar riffs kick in

>WOOOOOOOO, YA GOT THAT
>WOOOOOOOO, YA GOT THAT
>WOOOOOOOO, YA GOT THAT

and

>EYES OFF, EARS OFF TEST THE KISS GOOD-
>NIIIII-IIIIII-II-IIGHT.

also

>POW POW
>NOW NOW
>POW POW
>NOW NOW

Damn straight.

I used to prefer the organ bit but nowadays I'm alllll about that vocal peak.

NEVER GET PASSED THE DICE DEAR, GODDAMMIT, I'M GONNA ROLL

>It takes minute detail
>It takes a holy life
>It takes emotions
>It takes dedication
>It takes dedication
>It takes a death
>And only God can allow it

Came here to post this but also
> vesuvius, fire of fire

Don't have a favorite album but if I this is in my top 10 for sure. The drumming in Deadly Rhythm is like no other with amazing symbol work and virtuosity for a punk drummer, the best part is the double bass solo that leads blisteringly back into Lyxzen screaming. Fun as shit to play on guitar

Also no one on here ever seems to listen to their back catalogue. Everlasting and Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent are also amazing.

Every fucking time I put this on and hear the worldless hymm of "Our Prayer"

simply sublime

>when Cabin Essence comes on and you hear "doing doing" and the beautiful piano/vocals
>Light the lamp and fire mellow,
>Cabin essence timely hello
>Welcomes the time for a change

for me its always when Blank Frank abruptly starts straight after On Some Faraway Beach i think to myself "this album is so fucking good"

>she loves me like she means it
>... don't she?

>OH YEAH, THE WORLD'S TURNED UPSIDE DOWN

cabin essence belongs in the western art music canon. The most tasteful use of the banjo in a "pop" record i've ever heard

Yeah pretty much all their singles are quite accessible but if you'd dig deeper their every album has something noteworthy. I think the core part of Like Clockwork being so amazing is the atmosphere Homme managed to craft, inspired by his actual death during surgery. Also, Dave Grohls drumming helps a lot.

WHY BOTHER
ITS GONNA HURT ME

about 2 minutes into After the Flood

>HE SAID IT DID NOT COST ME ANYTHING

>SHAKE MY HEAD

hell yess my dude
>who ran the iron horse
chills thinking about it.

>We're just a million little gods causing rain storms
>Turning every good thing to rust
>I guess we'll just have to ADJUUUUST
and into the chorus
and then later, in the outro, where song shifts completely and becomes genuinely happy

>THIS IS
>THE AGE
>OF ADZ
>WHOOAHOOA

At the end of the first verse, there's that quiet piece with the piano. That's the part the really got me.

youtube.com/watch?v=i8cshTD5qhA
It starts at 4:14

>come to me once more my love

>ARISE ARISE ARISE

Got the bubbly
pouring through me
got the bubbly
pouring through me
sparkly
bubbly pouring through me
sparkly...
sparkly...
sparkly...
sparkly...

AND DON'T THINK
I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOIN
YOU STUPID TWAT

The end of The Boy With the Thorn In His Side with Morrissey's yodelling and Marr's jangly guitar is pretty much my favourite bit of pop music ever.

GODDAMN YOU HALF JAPANESE GIRLS

All these plus

>swimming poooooooooooooooooool

...

>CAN'T STOP IT
>BURNING HOLES IN YR POCKET

And I shall drive my chariot
Down your streets and cry
'Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite
And I don't know why'
And you shall take me strongly
In your arms again
And I will not remember
That I even felt the pain.

this.

For me it was the drums at the start of the title track. I knew even then that it would be 10/10
