What should i listen to next in his discography. I know he has a new ep coming out

Is this all you've heard so far? What did you like about it? What didn't you?

Selected ambient works 85-92 or syro, they're both great

Ive only listened to it. I like the synths and the samples. It has a drum and base style to it that i like

Selected Ambient Works 85-92
then Volume 2
then Syro

That's all that you should listen to in the main albums.

Also consider Come to Daddy and Windowlicker, and Analord series.

And drukqs. Some amazing tracks on that one.

Nah drukqs is the definition of inessential

I was going to say Drukqs as well. It's a bit more out there and possibly a bit more somber, but it's just as great and has a lot of the same drums and bass sounds you're after. Enjoy!

I disagree with you and you have a trip so my opinion is greater than yours.

It offers nothing new in his discography aside from the prepared piano pieces which are all mediocre at best.

nicework reading the wikipedia page
this user is right and drukqs is underrated

>nicework reading the wikipedia page
How am I wrong?

you'd be wrong if had formulted that opinion, which you did not, the person who did it is wrong

Datachi und Chris Clark are suggestable, or รน-ziq.

It's not an opinion I stole, it's very obvious that the music doesn't offer anything new or innovative for Aphex.
Prove me wrong.

well, let's leave the wikipedia issue aside, IMO drukqs while not being as "innovative" it's still a charming album and the user should give it a listen, that's all

>IMO drukqs while not being as "innovative" it's still a charming album and the user should give it a listen, that's all
It's 2 hours of music they had already understood.
Regardless of how much you enjoy it, it's not an essential listen.

well meme'd friendio :)

>Avril 14th
>Vordhosbn

>avril 14
Fucking awful and cheesy
>Vordhosbn
Meh, it's OK
The only good track on the album is Kesson Dalek.

>all of these plebs trying to dissect richard's discography

Listen to all of it, you fucker.

Every album he has released under Aphex Twin is worth listening to

Pretty much all the EPs as well

Also Hangable Auto Bulb

>Mt Saint Michel
>54 Cymru Beats
>Meltphace 6
>fucking TAKING CONTROL
>Ziggomatic

All masterpieces,

>doesn't offer anything new or innovative for Aphex
>the use of modified pianos, computer controlled acoustic instruments, various plates and resonators

I just don't understand why you seem to take pleasure in holding and defending such retarded opinions.

haha great post friend! :)

Guys you've all changed my mind drukqs is my favorite album now.

You're a fucking idiot
Ziggomatic 17 is Richie's magnum opus

aye
taking control is GOAT

You have no arguments.

Drukqs and his Analogue Bubblebaths

idk how was an argument, looks like a compliment to me

>Afx237 v.7

>COME ON YOU CUNTS LETS AVE SOME AFFEX ACIID

let's calm down boys
trying to make boldfaure like something he doesn't is really stupid

neither do you, you just keep repeating stupid shit like it's 'inessential' and "it doesn't offer anything new"
how the fuck is syro any different then?

>the use of modified pianos, computer controlled acoustic instruments, various plates and resonators in Drukqs was new for Aphex

there's a counter-argument to your claim that there was nothing new in the album, you retarded tripfag.

forgot to list that track

Syro is more developmental than anything he ever made in the past.
Yeah but that stuff was mediocre at best, which is what I said.

>It's only innovative when i say it is
you've clearly made up your mind i see

Could you tell me what's so important about Syro?
I'm just trying to see your viewpoint here

It's his most contrapuntally active work, with many more harmonic ideas and melodic lines going on at once than any time in his past oeuvre. In addition it's constantly changing, every 4 bar phrase is different from the last.

>Syro is more developmental than anything he ever made in the past.

No it fucking isn't. Drop trip. Richard D. James album, for example, was released in 1996. This was a time well before every teenager's computer containing a DAW with timestretching and automatic beat repeat/glitch plugins. He was pioneering digital IDM in the 90's.

Syro is a return to all of the rare analog gear Richard owns. Hardly anybody these days releases music with shit like an EMS Synthi or Synton Fenix on it.

>contrapuntally
>oeuvre

That's it, I'm done responding to you. What a fucking charlatan lmao

Don't forget The Tuss!!

The Tuss and Analord have slowly grown to be my favorite stuff.

>That's it, I'm done responding to you. What a fucking charlatan lmao
Literally too dumb to understand my language lmao

>In addition it's constantly changing, every 4 bar phrase is different from the last.

Well same goes for most tracks on Drukqs

He's overrated

Start with drukqs if you want something pretty complex and dynamic, probably the stuff you're looking for. only listen to SAW85-92 if you're in the mood for long ambient techno pieces.
