I have always endorsed jazz fusion and progressive rock from the 70', bands like Yes, Genesis, ELP, Return to Forever, Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra has always been my go-to-music.
I am not fond of the repeatedly verse-chorus structure in songs. I would listen to anything that has invested its value in the music, but also something that conveys something emotional. The Musical Box by Genesis is a great example.
Help me find some modern bands with an unique sound, someone who doesn't care about their image, but rather what they produce.
My nigga listen to The Sea and Cake. They started in the early 90s and continue to make music. They have this strange ability to be chill as hell but full of emotion and power. Totally unique band.
Start chronologically, start with s/t, Nassau, etc etc.
Yes, something in the lines of this I am looking for nig. I will check them out/10. ty user

Laddio Bolocko — instrumental avant-noise jazz quartet

Also, if you're into catchy instrumental prog with crazy ass shit, listen to An Endless Sporadic. People meme about them because of GH3, but they are really a special band.
Listen to this entire album. There are a ton of little reoccurring themes and subtle variations of melodies. youtube.com/watch?v=W_NfSP4pl1Y
Yeah prog has a big place in my heart, but its not the same kind of prog. I heard some of Endless Sporadic but it gets too crazy for me.

Suspicious Waveforms probably was the track I liked most, since it came so close with jazz fusion. Like a lot that they take inspiration from balkan folk music
Mason Garcia
yeah you can tell this album has a lot of influences and it's amazing how they can mesh all of them togheter and create such an amazing piece without making them feel out of place. Top album
