Wow, everytime I see threads like this Hey is always the top spot. This album has my interest, can someone explain why this Hey track is so good?

It brilliantly showcases what Pixies were so good at - it's very simple and straight forward but at the same time easy to resonate with and has some depth, especially in the mysterious lyrics. Bass line and guitar solo are done very well, it has an awesome rhythm. And what's the most important: it has Kim Deal and Black Francis singing together lead, harmonic vocals of a song. Whenever they do that, you know a killer song is coming. Kim Deal is usually loved and appreciated by Pixies fans and considered a victim of Francis' ego. The reason the band broke in the first place was the feud between her and Francis anyway.

because of this
It's just brilliant, that wonderfully simple bassline, that kind of stop-start guitar, the cryptic/obtuse lyrics, the glorious intertwining of Frank and Kim's voices (any Pixies song with Kim vocals is a winner). It's beautiful yet with a spiky, almost ominous undercurrent - it embodies everything that was great about the band.
