Getting rid of all welfare is a good way of discouraging the world's human trash from washing up on our shores. If we actually had strict immigration laws and enforced them, you wouldn't see so much opposition to it. Nobody wants to pay for a slow foreign takeover of the country.
It's to help people get back on their feet. I've seen people on welfare they don't want to be on it, its humiliating.
If people can't get enough to survive they get desperate and things become ugly.

Yeah that's fine if you actually have checks in place to ensure people aren't abusing it though.
Simple stuff, things like drug tests, limited amount of time on welfare if no improvement (if you haven't found a job or done anything in years maybe you shouldn't be getting sustained...) etc.

I spent a year as a NEET and got sick of it after 3 months. Free time is nice, but being broke is fucking awful. I'd rather have to work and be able to afford nice things than be able to wake up at noon but have to live off tendies and be unable to have any hobbies except video games.

That's the issue with being a NEET, you never gain any skills or life/work experience so when you become 30+ years old you're left with nothing to do because on one hand you're old enough to suppose to have a career but on the otherhand mommy & and daddy are going to croak soon and you have no experience to work anything besides menial labour ( and even that might be a challenge)

Much of the "recovery" that's happened has only been for the upper class and financial investors. Most of the jobs that have been added are low paying ones you can't sustain a life off of.

Language learning solo is pretty limited, all you can really do is get the basics of grammar and vocabulary. Actually speaking like a normal human requires interaction with either a fluent person or a significantly more advanced learner.
