Not really, is a great movie till the find Ryan, then the movie goes downhill.
We have been shown how shitty the war is, the people is tired, the war makes men change, they want to return home before its too late...
But Ryan is a fucking hero, so everyone acts like a fucking hero so they protect the fucking bridge like the fucking heroes that they are agaisnt the most numerous fucking Nazis.
What a fucking epilogue.
But thats not all, folks! Then another fucking epilogue comes to show the fucking hero dying as an old man without telling how heroic he was, thats what the fucking heroes do! To end the movie with a scene of the fucking waving flag of the States.
So [fucking] patriotic!
Had the movie ended with a "yes I am the private Ryan" and then the screem fades black, it would be a brilliant and well-rounded movie, but Spielberg has to give us a great American ending. He is a great director but man, he to "good", too "soft" and tends to do stuff like that with his movies.
