Black metal sucks

Evil Invaders is better than Violent Restitution.

blackgaze is the logical conclusion to the "stub" known as black metal

Corefags, Is the new Carnifex any good?

Megadeth is just wank

what are some bands that i should check out if i like morbid angel, death, slayer, gojira, demilich, etc.

Holy Wars... The Punishment Due is the best Megadeth song

theyre really eh

i only have 3 of their albums, 25th anniversary peace, so far, and rust
i really dont need anything else. no one should

t. "RtL is the best thrash album ever" fag

try Devourment

I think the debut is pretty gud actually.

KIMB is really good though, give it another chance.
but yes, the rest of their discography is dispensable.

god tier album just passing by dont mind me

the riff that starts the punishment due section of the song is absolute god-tier
its a blast to play on guitar.

but i think go to hell is their best, even though dave hates it for some reason

Not even close.

You mean the one that changes lyrical narrative halfway through? Switching from being about holy wars to being about Marvel's the Punisher?

yeah its good, but the 25th anniversary version of peace sells has most of the good shit from the debut so i decided i'd get their 3rd album instead

got limited space on the cd shelf. gotta make it all count lol

thrash bands back in the day loved to make pretentious 2 songs-in-one songs

Looking Down The Cross is their most underrated song by a mile. It's a shame Dave refuses to play it.
Bad Omen is another great song that sadly will never be played live. It has their thrashiest moment.

youtube.com/watch?v=JXcGIjGGdGU

yes thats a killer track. why does dave refuse to play it?

is it because him and kerry used to play it live and he doesnt want to play it without his friend? honorable if so

Not sure if it is really one of the songs they refuse to play, but nowadays they will probably never change their setlist anyway.

Did he kill himself yet?

>Mustaine had practiced black magic in his teenage years, which became inspiration for a couple of songs on the second album Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?. Mustaine stated that he no longer wishes to play those tracks because of his changed spiritual beliefs. He said of one such song, "The Conjuring":
>Performance wise, 'The Conjuring' is one of the heaviest songs on the record, but unfortunately it's got black magic in it and I promised that I wouldn't play it any more, because there's a lot of instructions for hexes in that song. When I got into black magic I put a couple of spells on people when I was a teenager and it haunted me forever, and I've had so much torment. So I look back now and I think, 'Hmm, I don't wanna play "The Conjuring"

I'm guessing it's a similar story with the other songs.

Although
>In 2016, he noted that drummer Chris Adler's comments made him consider playing The Conjuring again, "as long as it doesn't hurt anybody"

Yeah Dave's still a weirdo

>black magic
>hexes
why are people such retards?

man, mustaine is even more retarded than I thought

its gay af that the big 4 never changes their setlist besides one odd song, like metallica throwing a bone to the crowd in Minneapolis the other week playing leper messiah

i want slayer to play 213 or crionics but nope
LETS PLAY MANDATORY SUICIDE AND ANGEL OF DEATH A MILLION TIMES

What an absolute faggot in a shit tier sperg lord entry level bullshit band.

It has to do with him being a christian again.

fucking hell, just play it as an instrumental if that's the case. they did that with 1320 once, so it's not like it would be a new concept for them.

>there are people that genuinely think RtL is the best thrash album ever

Yes. Good black metal influence on several songs.

>Dave was a pseudo-/fringe/fag in his early days

absolutely hilarious

Can someone recommend me good black metal bands? I'm looking for stuff like Enslaved, Wolves In The Throne Room, Ulver, Bathory, Darkthrone (something that's similar to their first 6 albums), Satanic Werewolf, Zeal And Ardor etc.

Lately I've become addicted to black metal, it's relaxing. Anyways, thanks in advance.

check the rest of the norwegian 2nd wave classics? like literally the ones youll find on black metal on wikipedia, mayhem and gorgoroth for example

>Mustaine unironically wore fedoras and practiced back magic
>writes killer albums
>becomes a Christian
>band goes to shit
Christianity BTFO

I never was into Mayhem, and I like Gorgoroth's earlier stuff, but Ghaal is trash on vocals, and their bass is one of the biggest posers in the scene. Fuck 'em, Hat was their best vocalist.

Still got many classics left to listen to m8.
In the Nightside Eclipse, De Mysteriis Dom. Sathanas, Pure Holocaust, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss to name a few.

I like Burzum, Mayhem and Emperor do not do anything for me and Pure Holocaust by Immortal is dope as fuck. Can you name a few more bands?

im only gonna get one mayhem cd

but which should it be?

live in leipzig or dawn of the black hearts??

Dawn Of The Black Hearts.

*yawns*

What are your favorite thrash records? Like, say your top 5?

>Slayer - Hell Awaits
>Kreator - Extreme Aggression
>Sodom - Persecution Mania
>Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
>Sepultura - Schizophrenia

>listening to Wehrmacht
>huh this is bretty good
>notice that some members had another project called Spazztic Blurr
>decide check it out

jesus christ. this is the most stupid album I've ever heard. it's like a bad Zappa imitation. how did this even get funded?

>Slayer - Reign In Blood
>Kreator - Pleasure To Kill
>Sadus - Illusions
>Sepultura - Schizophrenia
>Obliveon - From This Day Forward

>Vektor - Terminal Redux
>Machine Head - Burn My Eyes
>Metallica - Load
>Slayer - Diabolus In Musica
>Megadeth - Rust In Peace

What the fuck my dude

kek

>Load
that's not a thrash record.

Schizophrenia is a nice pick, I also prefer it over Beneath The Remains.
My list would be
>Infernäl Mäjesty - None Shall Defy
>Turbo - Ostatni Wojownik
>Aggression - The Full Treatment
>Whiplash - Power And Pain
>Demolition Hammer - Epidemic Of Violence

Well saw-ry Mr. thrash metal elitest

>Razor - Violent Restitution
>Rigor Mortis - Rigor Mortis
>Deathwish - Demon Preacher
>Toxic Holocaust - Evil Never Dies
>Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence

>Sodom - Persecution Mania
>Slayer - Black Magic
>Kreator - Pleasure to kill
>Essence - Lost in violence
>Artillery - By inhertience

Epidemic Of Violence and Power And Pain are good picks, good taste!

>Slayer - Black Magic
Yeah that's also one of my favorite Slayer albums baka desu senpai

Dissection, Drudkh, Negative Plane.
Oh and Tormentor - Anno Domini, especially if you like Bathory.

>hey check out this cat
>that's a dog
>fuck you elitist it's 2016 anything can be anything as long as i say so fuck yeah i love post-modernism

Power And Pain is quite simply the album that solidified my love for metal. It's not only amongst my favorite thrash albums, it's one of my favorite albums overall.

>Slayer - hell awaits
>metallica - ...and justice for all
>xentrix - for whose advantage
>slayer - seasons in the abyss
>slayer - divine intervention

>guy from an emo influenced mallcore band does BM better than the entire second wave
kek

why? is it better than leipzig? i wanna get a good showcase of dead's talent

Well saw-ry Mr. thrash metal autist

>i wanna get a good showcase of dead's talent
have you heard Morbid - December Moon?

>After writing and composing 95% of the material for Schizophrenia, lead guitarist Jairo Guedz decided to leave the band before finishing it.
So, that's why they went downhill after Schizophrenia.

Same shit happened with Sarcófago
>According to Wagner Antichrist, Zeder was the person with the most extreme mind in the band (Sarcófago). In an interview published in 2013, he declared Zeder always made his compositions "faster", their lyrics "most blasphemous and aggressive", and looks "darker".
Zéder quitting after I.N.R.I. explains why The Laws of Scourge was so tame in comparison.

nope, let me check it out though

>Demolition Hammer - Epidemic of Violence
>Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death
>Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
>Anthrax - Spreading the Disease
>Foreseen - Helsinki Savagery

not a big fan of thrash though

fuck... I ment show no mercy...'
Nvm.. I'll be back again in a couple of years time when i finally get over this..

My deepest regreds
-user

>they went downhill after Schizophrenia.
Kek

>Slayer - Show No Mercy
>Megadeth - Rust In Piece
>Artillery - By Inheritance
>Voivöd - RRRRROOOOOAAAAARRRR
>Kreater - Pleasure To Kill

are you implying they didn't? their albums got progressively worse.

Oh, I'm just laughing at your opinion. Pay it no mind.

As long as you're not implying Roots is their zenith or fucking Derrick Green albums are the best, carry on

What if I am implying Roots is their zenith?

Then I'll have to keep giving you (You)s

then you don't belong here.

>itt: jesse poster strikes again

ROOTS
BLOODY ROOTS

I just think that "Schizophrenia is their best" is one of those uniquely Sup Forums opinions. Contrarianism taken to an extreme.

Why not? Surely you're not some iopq-type faggot who thinks Sepultura ruined metal.

Keep 'em coming then.

>regreds
Strike two, user

>Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
>Holy Terror - Mind Wars
>Sodom - Obsessed by Cruelty
>Sarcofago - I.N.R.I.
>Razor - Executioner's Song

>uniquely Sup Forums opinions
>92% on metallum
You're not fooling anyone, Satan

it's not contrarianism if it's my honest opinion, Satan.

>Contrarianism taken to an extreme.
why, because it's not their most popular? stop being a fucking retard
Even on metallum it's got 92%

Sepultura ruined metal.

It made it so people think I listen to shit like Disturbed when I say I listen to metal.

>le metal archives fallacy

And Beneath the Remains is 94%

It can be both. It depends how delusional you are.

Yes. When you reject the most popular album of a band because it is popular in favor of a less popular band, it's contrarianism.

nice argument

that's not contrarian

contrarian would be saying morbid visions is their best album, which is what i believe

>if you don't think a band's most popular album is their best you're a contrarian
user pls

>14 reviews are indicative of a majority opinion

Please reread what I wrote there, you're obviously not getting it.

it's pretty simple that their most important contributions were Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation and the rest is a long process of decline

>When you reject the most popular album of a band because it is popular in favor of a less popular band, it's contrarianism.
Are you implying that liking more an album that isn't the most praised one from a band is contrarianism now?
Holy shit my dude

>When you reject the most popular album of a band because it is popular in favor of a less popular band, it's contrarianism.
and how did you reach the conclusion that this is what the anons in this thread did? what if they, you know, genuinely think that Schizophrenia is the better album?

>2% difference from their """popular""" album
>RYM ratings aren't statistically significant either

That would also be contrarianism. There's lots of different kinds of contrarianism.

Can you honestly not read?

How did I reach this conclusion? I guessed. Prove me wrong. And they can genuinely think this and still be contrarians. Seemiddle reply.

thrashfags are autistic it seems

>How did I reach this conclusion? I guessed. Prove me wrong.
I can't prove your assumption wrong. It's baseless. You can't prove that I prefer Schizophrenia simply because Beneath The Remains is more popular.
It's futile to keep this discussion going if you're just going to argue with guesses. You are literally a troll.

>And they can genuinely think this and still be contrarians.
Explain.
