+hiatus, kendrick, arca, opn, of montreal

i love hiatus kaiyote but why would you listen to by fire, an ep containing songs on choose your weapon, and why would you listen to it enough for it to be on your collage?

At all/Hilitary EP

have you herad sindat at the village vanguard?
it's the same sessuins as waltz for debby and I think it's even better

there's a big
special edition with both albums and a bunch of unreleased stuff from the same session you shoyld check it out

dig deeper into a subgenre instead of meandering with essentials if you feel like you're getting bored

i actually really don't like some of the songs on choose your weapon. all 3 on by fire are fantastic.

what's lofi.hiphop?

Totally going to check out sunday at the village vanguard, still searching for the special edition though. Thanks user.

thanks.

listening to it all again now.
the lung is goat too

I stopped using last.fm about a year ago - it was a great decision. Let go of that need for validation and you'll enjoy music more

If you think of last fm as a need for validation then that's just showing your actual character.
I like to see my listening habits and there's literally no good reason not to record them.

I don't listen to music anymore, so this is from 3 months. I'm just getting old and everything sounds bad to me.

Help out your favorite gramps by recc'ing some sick tunes?

bans up boys

youtube.com/watch?v=5aI4vR8IzJI

++ blueboy, the orchids

the wake - major john and st. christopher - say yes to everything are some great singles from sarah records

free loan investments - pretentious girl is also good twee

funny i always feel like i kill these threads

political asylum - how the west was won is sort of a different take on folk punk. the core of it is 80's hardcore but with a lot of melody and folk-influenced vocal harmonization. second side of the record is a live acoustic set with an incredible cover of husker du's don't want to know if you are lonely

love thugga. only slime season i have is #3 i should change that

what is your favorite field mice i like emmas house

>love thugga. only slime season i have is #3 i should change that
you probably should
that link was one of my favorites from when somebody leaked like 200 tracks of rich gang stuff

do you like wowee zowee

this is embarrassing but pavement is actually a huge black hole in my music knowledge. idk how i just never got into them

yeah i'm on it. i'm pretty hyped for jeffrey as well

listen
youtube.com/watch?v=o3a3ldBRwbw

pretty good

i've always heard pavement have a big influence from the fall, what's an album to start with that showcases that influence?

slanted and enchanted i guess
youtube.com/watch?v=anyvPX0NjFk
ive never listened to to a fall album though i like what songs ive heard
which one should i try

...

oh wow i can definitely hear the influence here, i like this a lot, thanks

as for the fall i'd start with hex enduction hour, probably their most critically acclaimed album of theirs. i think pavement did a cover of the opening track, the classical (one of the best fall songs imo)

after that i'd look into grotesque: after the gramme

they have a really huge discography and their sound is constantly changing, but a pretty good way to introduce yourself to all their different eras is to check out the peel sessions compilation. they were john peel's absolute favorite band and he had them on his show more than any other band. they have 6 discs total of peel sessions, spanning from 1978 to 2004, so if you like a song or set of songs you can check out the albums they come from

big ups for quickspace. love those guys.
there's a great song of theirs that features on a four tet dj kicks comp. absolutely goat.

th' faith healers are also pretty good.

thanku i will listen

I've never done one of these threads. Where's the best place to do your charts? I just found a decent site for mine. Hopefully this is okay. Also I'm afraid of recs because I feel like you all have better taste than I. Sorry 4 being pleb no bully plz

Favorite island is Drummond Island.

Early Beatles is my favorite and I love that album. Also Liquid Swords, Demon Days and those Zappa records are tight.

A lot of albums I love or that are on my list of stuff I want to listen to. How is that Pet Sounds Sessions record?

>Skylar Spence
Oh shit that album is awesome! A lot of this was me about a month ago actually, especially The Smiths, I went more dark post-punk after though.

You must be really excited for that new Brand New album, huh?

This was my late July list almost exactly. Great list.

Your rap tastes are great.

That Noname record is awesome! I need to listen to it more, but I really liked a lot of it. I also really like that Dump cover. I'm checking it out now. That's some cool shit.

Beat Happening as well here. I've been listening to that greatest hits collection and I really like it a lot. I haven't found an album I like more than any other, and I didn't want to look like Turbo-Pleb and put it on here. Also that The Fall record is great. A friend suggested it to me recently. Good shit.

OH SHIT I CAN MAKE A REC. Great stuff btw. Love all these albums! Pangea is a great fucking band and I'm so glad others know that shit. Check out Sick Sad World! They only have one record but it's worth checking out. Hopefully you like it.

Shit forgot my pic.

Yeah Beat Happening really is special. The vocals are really interesting to me, they're kinda flat and off key, but they just work with the whole aesthetics of the music

nice charts, liking Nails, the Jesus Lizard, Frank, and American Football

for Nails: I've been getting into powerviolence lately, check out Dropdead's 1993 LP and Infest - Slave

6x6 because too many albums

Your recs were good

Listen to Oasis' first 2 studio albums and The Masterplan

I agree. I knew about them for a while, but never looked into them too much. I love the off key "We don't really care" vibe they throw off. They just play the music they want. Love that.

Ayyye. Sweet. I've wanted to look into some more powerviolence but didn't know where to start. Thanks for the rec my dude. I'll check it out.

All that magma makes you the best.

also, if you want to get some foundations into what set the stage for powerviolence (and honestly grindcore and extreme music in general), definitely check out Siege - Drop Dead

Holy shit. I'm cool with this album. Thanks user. You da real mvp.

np man glad ya like it! that siege album really blows my mind, i don't think there was another band on the planet that sounded like them when it came out in 1984

>1984
Sheiiiiit. I saw the 30th anniversary edition and was blown away. That sounds like some fresh stuff. Wow. Again thanks for the recs.
