>Santa Cruz, Ambient, EDM, Electronic, House, Minimal House, Minimal Techno, Music To Play Volleyball To, Progressive House, Trip Hop.

Description:
"Welcome to Hotel Songs. Please, enjoy your stay. I have been delivered to relay information and guidelines pertaining to your album listening experience. Hotel Songs is not to be listened to loudly, or on headphones. It is instead recommended that you find a small, clean, and well lit room in which to take residence, and a set of speakers through which to play your copy of Hotel Songs. Enjoy the album at low volumes, and let your mind wander. Are you ready? Well then, let us commence Hotel Songs.

I'll see you three nights from now."
- Eric Taxxon

As we stumble into the charade of luxury that often comes with a hotel, we often find ourselves resting well in an odd state of ambiguity and vagueness. In his second effort for Jacob And Friends, Eric Taxxon brings an album that displays that faux luxury that often we absolve ourselves into, all viewed through a lens of lush and repetitive minimal techno, intending on delivering a cozy experience to the listener.

Now available for stream and download!

Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Eric some love. Thank You. :)

Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

where is everyone from?

heartcenter.bandcamp.com/album/gmod-porno

Every sound made on it is guitar and bass with acception of the metronome of course, I strummed most of the drum patterns in place of an actual sampler

RECS

I like skate punk was pretty. I like the guitar playing and the drums always keep me intrigued. Vocals were a surprise but not off putting. Pretty original sounding honestly. Maybe just not my cup of tea per say. listening to nothing now. Drums sound a bit odd, but the song is cool. 90s as all heck. good stuff

I see you guys in here a lot. You always get praised but the picture you post always deters me, but i decided tonights the night to give it a listen. Glad I did. pretty awesome stuff here, Love the full clean guitar sound on the first track. It has a clear bass to it and a tight high end thats not frail. I love it. Slight chorus too? Beautiful stuff. And the zesty drums really carry that opening 7 pattern. Awesome. Plus I'm hearing some odd chords in here, you guys definitely know your shit. Fuck the second song is even better. Wish I could buy this guys. Soon, I will have the means to purchase this and I will. It seems like you guys really try and care and I can respect and appreciate that. I gave you a like on facebook as well.

from

Minneapolis, you?

around

Western New York, near Buffalo. Well, right now im living in Jamestown, NY but that is still Western New York. Me and you understand fucking brutal ass winters.

What's it like out there? Pretty good music scene, shit to do?

i have about 60 tunes but i can't decide what to do with the next album

>i have about sixty tunes
holy fucking fuck how

I've got to say, Michael Jackson's Human Nature is a bit better. Yours is good though

Southern NY now, but IA and NE raised
brutal winters are to be expected in the midwest
can't complain about (-30-30 F) because mother nature doesn't give a fuck if you don't like it lol

Yeah man, those winters definitely build character. But a decent amount of good acts come through First Ave and the nearby venues, and I've luckily been getting more involved in the ambient scene recently. How's it at where you're living?

Southern New York? What city?

And yeah last February, not the most recent one, in the Buffalo, Fredonia, Jamestown area it didnt get above zero for like 20 days straight. I can remember pumping gas in fredonia at like midnight and it was -36 with windchill. God damn it

haven't come out with an album since march

Central Valley (basically Woodbury, Orange County, Ny).
Haven't really been upstate other than Albany once for a HS club thing. I've done the -36 F and it's to be taken seriously. I've had a handful of school days in high school and college cancelled due to temperature.

That's great, I love it when people get involved. And First Ave? Wow, being a huge Prince fan I'd love to check that out. You'relucky you live so close. And the Buffalo area doesnt really have too much going on actually. For instance, the county where I and my band is from, Cattaraugus County, we are the only band in. thats fucking crazy to think about lol While Buffalo isnt in that county, its in Erie county, it just shows you how empty the music scene is in the WNY area. But in Buff there are quite a few bands. Mostly punk and metal. But there are some good indie bands. But all those bands just get jerked off by their friends and if you arent a local or arent friends with them, they dont care. Its honestly not that great of a scene. Jamestown, where im now living, used to have a really big Metalcore scene. Shitty, I know, my band played a lot of those shows, and we are far from metalcore. But we were always well received because we stood out. But i digress. My point to this is even all the shitty metalcore bands have left. There is literally 2 bands in jamestown now and im in one and the other i used to be in. And the latter is gonna break up soon. So not so good lol

Totally fair. I always make albums with a purpose so I minimize unused tracks, has been happening less frequently than I'd like. (For the ones that aren't demos) see if you can't organize them into albums or compilation albums and try that out for size.

Yeah, albany is pretty far from Buffalo and all of WNY. But you're a while away being down there. I've never been there. We toured recently and played in Long Island. Is that anywhere near ya? And man we had to practice in a basement with poorly constructed rock walls and cement floors during that -30 every day bullshit. after 3 songs you just couldnt feel your hands. I felt so bad for our drummer that had to hurt like shit. Plus he drums without shoes on. fuck that

they always just take shape as i write for me. just have to figure out how i want to record & w/ what kind of instrumentation. already started/ditched one too.

I just put out my very first ep today. What do you guys think?
>experimental
>electronic
>chiptune
entropynkjk.bandcamp.com/releases

I'm about an hour north of NYC (which to city folk is upstate and to others is southern NY). Practicing in the cold must be brutal. I've only ever played bass in a room that was basically acceptable in the winter and too hot every other season. I hate playing with cold hands, let alone with that. That just sounds brutal for everybody involved.

I wouldnt even consider anything upstate until you get as north as about Syracuse. But even then, that could still be considered Western New York to some. Not me, I call that Central NY. Upstate to me is way up there haha. And yup about the cold, but honestly it isnt much worse than playing in 90 degrees with no AC.

The definition changes depending upon your viewpoint, but I agree that it isn't really upstate.
Playing in the summer heat sucks, too, but it can at least get you into a summer vibe, whereas the winter doesn't do that.

thanks for the kind words man! I remember enjoying your release you feel bad about you
but i'm really digging what i'm hearing on this new album
songs like skin walker sound like what you would get If Smashing Pumpkins and built to spill had a baby, really great stuff

Thanks.

We're breaking up for the second time and are going to reform with new members asap. We have a lot of new music on the way. Our sound changes with every release too so if Eye Contact wasn't totally your thing, we have a few other releases with totally different sounds and more on the way.
