Alternative 4 really is one of a kind in Anathema's discog. Sakamoto's collabs with Alva Noto are always fucking ace

how's harry potter's piano quintet

that Negativland album art is fucking bizzare, what's the album like?

I like these threads.
Also I already have an image of my top 25 albums.
Relatively new to this, not sure how good my stuff is.

Uno month
Barlow - Fell Asleep
Boku try Chou Wen-Chung - Echoes From the Gorge. I couldn't get on rym properly but it's really beautiful and i think youd like it. One of Varése's disciples
Try umm Le Orme - Felona e Sonora

The physical release comes with an actual Bible
It's a great album, it's sound collage with some radio show skits about religion
CD 1 is mostly about Christianity, CD 2 is mostly Islam
But unlikely lots of anti-theist media, it's actually very well done and it touches a lot of interesting points, and they can be both funny and serious
It's good but I liked the trio more, especially the last movement
It's usually about the recent listened not the favorites but whatever

My bad man, sorry I'm new to this stuff. Nice recommendation though. Really like it.

But the other thread isn't even dead.

so that's what you were trying to add to RYM earlier?

Le Orme is good btw

Love that song too. It's great. I've been getting a lot of great recommendations.

You've probably heard of him but that's all i got

this place can be kind of useful at times

ululations is a wonderful word
very...owly
Cornelis Vreeswijk is an incredibly dutch name
funny that he's not a dutch musician

quoting from the forums earlier today, "RYM is a cruel mistress"

mgmt - kids

spent this week binging on heavenly albums

i think this 3x3 is about what i've been listening to given one album per artist

i'm coming back around to loveless

Yeah I know I'm just hoping I don't run into anyone hostile. I've only been on here one other time and I'm still getting use to it, y'know? I might start a bowie thread I.D.K.

are yoyu tweethreadguy
do you like souvlaki or loveless more

he's quite swedish
my swedish boy crush introduced me to him I really like him a lot

have you heard him at all

you're such a sweetheart I love you

download this

we're friendly in these threads promise

yeah i'm twee thread guy
souvlaki
which is weird because until like two weeks ago it was by far my least favorite of the big 3

>download this
what is it

there's not much hostility in these threads, but it's pretty wild outside
nothing worrying though, you get used to it, it's all in good fun

swe dish
yum?

Awww thanks, I was called a sweetheart that made me smile.

And yeah haven't ran into anyone TOO hostile (Except for one guy on a thread calling me a neckbeard for having a...not unpopular enough opinion, I think...?) so I've been having a good time.

It's gonna be hard changing up my 5X5 though, I thought it was like a 'favorite albums' thing up until now.

get a last.fm account if you wanna keep up with your recent listening and automatically generate collages, it's what we all do here and it's much easier

yum indeed

ohh yeah
mostly people here use last.fm combined with
tapmusic.net
or
lastfm.paddez.com

last.fm keeps track of everything you listen to once you set it up and then those sites can whip you up a collage in 2 seconds

it's like
tweeish 80s jangle pop from japan
it's really fun and catchy

Ohhhh...so THAT'S how they were making them.

I was using that Topster website someone talked about in another 5X5 thread. It was good for making my all time favorite list. (Which if you have any thoughts on I'd love to discuss it)

not them but that's probably a lot easier than what i do
i try to remember what all i've listened to and how many times each i've listened to it
and eventually i just throw in albums i consider favorites to round out the chart

>last.fm

Didn't realize it was still 2005

Usually I listen to music on shuffle so that's why I couldn't use recents so I just went for albums I really REALLY loved. And when I do want to surprise myself with new albums I buy vinyls. When it comes to vinyls I LOVE surprises

(I use spotify sometimes for strange music too)

Of course I have a HUGE list of favorite songs too from each of my favorite albums but I doubt anyones interested in that. Heh.

i'd be interested in a list of like your top 10-20 songs
it's a lot faster to get into a band through a song than through an album

Alright I can do that, I'll just do my favorite from each artist I've bought the full discography from

Bird Gerhl - Antony and the Johnsons
Where's the Orchestra? - Billy Joel
All is Full of Love - Bjork
No One's Gonna Love You - Cee Lo Green
Instant Crush - Daft Punk
Everything David Bowie ever made
Love Games - Eminem
Monks - Frank Ocean
Blue Ocean Floor - Justin Timberlake
Crooked Smile - J Cole
Thank You - Jay Z
We Major -Kanye West
Backseat Freestyle - Kendrick Lamar
Rhinestone Cowboy - Madvillainy
2Bad - Michael Jackson
PJ and Rooster -OutKast
Soon We'll Be Found - Sia
Blame it On The Sun - Stevie Wonder
Oh My God - A Tribe Called Quest

30 day. Recs would be awesome
Talkin' About by Grant Green is lit as fuck is you haven't heard it.
Joe Henderson - In 'n Out
Sonny Rollins - The Bridge
If you haven't heard madlib's quasimoto albums they're all fantastic
Magnetic Fields - charm of the highway strip

Someone recommended me The Unseen in another thread. It was pretty great. :)

I FORGOT FATBOY SLIM.
Wonderful Night.

chart threads use topsters. anything that says 3x3, 5x5 etc is last.fm

meant for

Thank you for clarifying. Was confused about it. Now I know when to use my top 25 chart, heh.

What do you think of blonde? Also rock with me>every other michael jackson song

It's madlib's best production work for my money

Have to re listen to it. On the first listen it was.....weird. Very Very weird. Only tracks that stood out on first listen were Pink + White and Solo Reprise

(I'm going to get killed for saying that)

I made a Bowie thread if anyone's interested.

1 week

this is nice thread
+modest mouse, mbv, vampire weekend
if you liked kids by the mgmt try the kids by the kids mgmt
+mbv

Please join my Bowie thread if interested (Last time I'll message about it I promise)

I wasn't really feeling it at first either honestly. It grows on you hard though. Solo and Self Control are amazing

I'll give it a re listen later on. I've been trying to get through my Vinyls collection.
